  1. Lucky you didn't loose it! I really like the weather shields in black, looks less grandpa spec
  2. One thing I'm keen to know, did it make that power with the stock airbox?
  3. Nah just masked it up with newspaper and tape
  4. Scotty, having done a few of these, is the hub pressed far enough into the bearing? To me, it looks like it needs to go in another 3-4mm or so. I don't think the bearing has been sitting on that chamfered bit on the driveshaft? In terms of freeze fitting, I just don't have time to organise all that, as good as it sounds. I need to do thus tomorrow so I can get the kids to school Friday
  5. I didn't do the pressing, but it seemed to be what I'd call a 'good interference fit' like what I'd expect it to be really. It was a bugger the get the hub out of the old one!
  6. Yeah I remember trying to find a socket that fit nicely on the inner race when they had it on the press, so I'm sure it was pressed with the inner race being supported. One question - is there supposed to be a washer or anything in between the bearing and the nut that screws onto the driveshaft?
  7. I'm about to replace my back left wheel bearing for the 3rd time in 6 months, and I have a few questions - 1st time - whole hub/bearing purchased from a wrecker, which was discovered to have play in it once I put it all back together. Lesson learn't - don't buy second hand bearings! 2nd time - brand new bearing, which I had my workshop remove the old hub and press the hub into the new bearing. Anyhow, had it wheel aligned last week and they said the back left bearing was stuffed. So I spoke with the bearing company, and they said I can give them the old bearing and they can lodge a warranty claim. They mentioned that it may not have been pressed in correctly and may have been damaged during this process, or my installation has caused the failure. This will be difficult at best, as the old one was destroyed removing it from the hub the second time around... I've ordered another one and pick it up tomorrow, so hopefully I can change it all out tomorrow with any luck. I did a DIY post the second time around - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/434655-r34-gtt-rear-wheel-bearing-replacement/ I can't see anything I've done wrong in the installation? Could it be I've just got a dud bearing or its been damaged when the hub was pressed into the new one?
  8. Great result all round, well done
  9. I plastidipped my weather shields, one of those wings would tie in nicely in black
  10. Has a different intercooler been trialed yet? Inlet temps measured?
  11. Those HKS turbos need a good amount of boost to really show what they are capable of. On my old R32, the difference in power delivery from 1bar to 1.5bar was immense running a 2510 As long as you've got suitable injectors and a good tune, 18-20psi would transform how that turbo performs
  12. Love the rear window wing
  13. Had a guy next to me last week driving home from work in stop start traffic. He had a tidy 911, would have been 50-60. He wound his window down and said "That's a nice Datsun" I wasn't quick enough to come back with "That's a nice Volkswagen" - it came to me about 10 seconds later
  14. Just had mine done at Bridgestone's in Gouger street, very happy with their work
  15. Hmm, OK what a bugger. Bride rails seem to be available, so aftermarket seats are an option but the legalities in SA are a bit painful! Autobarn sell the 34 GTR copy seats cheap enough, however speaking with them you need an engineer's certificate to use them legally in a road car. Also, do you loose the airbag if you put in a aftermarket seat?
  16. Also, can anyone can confirm if R34 GTT 2 door rails will fit a 4 Door GTT?
  17. Searched but can't find anything that is a straight swap. GTR seats seam to need modification, but I can't find any pictures to see what exactly doesn't fit. Ideally I'd like a GTR seat to give me a few cm's more headroom, which it did in the 32 GTSt I had
  18. Do you have the brake duct/deflectors that attach to the castor rods?
  19. Your intercooler isn't full of oil from the last engine's demise is it?
  20. Got some nice cheap Kinforest KF550's, actually they perform quite well. Achilles seem to be gaining a reputation and their price has jumped quite a bit. These have nice stiff sidewalls, so they handle well. The extra snorkel on the stock box seems to work well, seat of the pants tells me I've picked up some power. Draws in as cool air as possible without ducting it from outside the engine bay
  21. Cusco rear camber arms now in, with 265 wide rubber in the back - hooks up well now! Modded the stock airbox with a section from a r32 airbox to create an extra intake snorkel. Feels better up top now, the 34 snorkel is pretty squashed in places
  22. I modded my airbox like this
  23. Noticed in the pic on the dyno your running the factory air box. Have you tried bolting a pod on to eliminate that as the cause? I know GTR airbox's are good for 350kw, but comparing a GTR to a GTT airbox, the snorkel on the GTT has a big squashed section in it to clear one of the 'cooler pipes and the area around the inlet to the AFM is quite tight. I'd run it up without the airbox connected or chuck a generic pod on there to rule out the airbox. The turbo might be working really hard to suck the air through and heating up the intake temp
  24. 265's on the back, no issues with ABS, the traction control is a bit more 'active' but this is disabled most of the time anyway
