  1. Had a more detailed look last night Definatley coming from the aircon compressor, and a bit of noise coming from the adjuster pulley as well How do I remove the belt? Looking at it, I'd have to remove the power steering pump belt as well to get it off?
  2. Good to hear Joel, big relief!
  3. I have had this problem for over 2 years now I have had it tuned and tweaked so many times, and its still the same I believe, along with my tuner, that my knock sensors are indeed playing up. Ever since pulgging in the FC-Logit stuff, the knock sensors have played havoc. Doesn't matter what we do, 10* or 18* timing at full noise, it knocks to about 80 at WOT at around 5400rpm No noise, no puff out the exhaust, just on the hand controller. The rest of the run is at around 25-40 To the point now where I don't even drive with the hand controller plugged in! I reckon its something to do with FC-logit, but what I have no idea
  4. Have you plugged the stock ECU in mate to test if it is the ECU or not?
  5. And then jsut remove the belt I take it?
  6. Whats the easiest way to disconnect the belt?
  7. Sounds like my aircon compressor bearings are shot to shit, anyone reccomend a place to go and get it repaired? thanks, Chris
  8. will have a look on the weekend and see what the deal is Where do you reckon the best place to take it would be?
  9. Yeah, I think its the air-con, as I have been using the de-mister quite a bit recently, it gets louder with this on You reckon thats what it is? After about 2 mins its almost not noticeable, when I start it, its louder PS Fluid level seems ok
  10. I have this whining typenoise coming from the front left of my engine bay I think it could be either the power steering pump or the air con compressor perhaps? Anyone have any idea? chris
  11. Cubes is right, unless you are being a total wanker or really asking for it (ie rundle or hindley on friday/sat nights) there is no reason to be worried Stickers also attract allot of attention I actually got pulled over about a fortnight ago, I was driving down near regency park golf course on south road, came around the corner to see a heap of police cars.. Instincts kicked in, and I turned at the next right about 200m before the police cars. My other half said, a cop just ran to his car when you turned then..... I got chased, and pulled up in the industrial area opposite the golf course I pulled up as soon as I saw his lights flashing, about two corners into the industrial area. Got out, turned my car of before he stopped He asked why did I run, did I hate cops, was I drink driving, or warrants out for my arrest, I just said no. He did the breath test, blew 0.00. He had a quick look around my car, and said to get going, and next time just to stop, most cops aren't arseholes mate! If I was sensible, I should I just drove through it, and been on my merry way. So faith in our Police force has been given a bit of a boost after that If you give them reason to pull you over, then you have to expect adverse response, in my case, I was polite and told to be on my way
  12. I got mine from Adelaide Imported Parts Plus, 82831747, great service
  13. Yeah, its all good now. I just added some fuel at one of the lower water temp correction points and took away some at the +70 point I think it was, but all sorted now You find, with the gurgling pump, its only at idle or when you lift off, under load when its using some of that extra volume there will be no sucking noise, so by directing the return away it can't suck up any of the fuel thats come back from the rail Glad I could help mate
  14. Nah, mines quiet, unless its really low on juice or stinking hot Not sure if I am 100% correct, but I angled my fuel return pipe away from the pickup with the 040 and all gurgling noises ceased. Its caused by the pump cavitating the fuel (pumping air into it) due to its faster return from the rail with a high volume pump Angle it away and the noises will stop
  15. I think Cubes and Bl4ck32 are also having similar issues since using FC-Logit, I reckon its something to do with that, as mine does not knock Could be the soild lifters in yours mate, have heard they can sometimes need re-shimming on GTRs?
  16. Some Bosch pumps also come minus the anti-drain back valve thingo, that was the case with my 040, it would take a few seconds to fire up Got a 044 now, and it came with the anti-drain back valve thingo, can't remember the exact name, but it works much better than the 040 minus the valve
  17. If its of any help, I had a set of these on my car, don't be fooled by the sizing, 235/45/17 RE55S where wider than a set of street tyres that where 255/40/17! R series rubber, bridgestones especially, are generally much wider than the numbers would have you believe
  18. check this site out fellow fast jet fans! http://www.patricksaviation.com/aviation_videos/
  19. Also try Provident crash repair, they did my GTR bonnet, great job They are at Glynde
  20. I am of the opinion the FC-Logit software has made my knock sensors read faulty. I don't know how/why, but ever since I plugged it in, not changed a thing with the tune, it gets random knock Not detonation, as on the dyno we took timing from 16* to 10*, lost power but still the same knock levels Has anyone else with FC-Logit experienced this?
  21. Not nessacary to drop the resistor I believe On hot days, it just heats up your fuel quicker!
  22. Could also me a dodgy crank angle sensor
  23. No Probs Another thing I found helped, angle the return feed away from the pickup point, as with the higher volume pump, it causes cavitation in the fuel (air bubbles) due to much more fuel being pumped back than the stocker. You might have heard it on some cars with up-graded pumps, sound like the pump is sucking in air I acutally trimmed my fuel return pipe and attached some fuel hose and angled it well away from the pickup point of the pump. The fuel returning is generally much warmer too. Wiring it straight of the battery is also a good idea, you can do that later if you find the supply is not enough I think Cubes did a DIY thingo about that
  24. You will need to find 2 nuts that fit over the 040 terminals Then just need to solder on some connectors onto the standard wiring and secure them to the pump with the nuts New tank seal is a good idea, Nissan should be able to source you one
  25. Give Grant a buzz at Adelaide Imported Parts, 82831747
