That seems to do the trick, just a bit longer with the pipe work A mate 33 was like that, it worked really well At least it keeps the pipes out of the engine bay for as long as possible
-
Similar setup was used on the Gibson Motorsport R31's, it seems to be the way to go if you want to run a shorter intercooler pipe for less lag and heat soak. It would save around A number of guys are running a similar setup on the forum's with good results Chris

thought that would be a pretty close guestimate! Are the carbon/fibreglass bonnets available for around a grand any good? I have picked up a few, and they don't seem a great deal lighter than the GTR bonnet A proper carbon bonnet would be the go, but they would cost a heap I reckon The GTR bonnet is a good alternative if you don't want it to stand out like like a carbon bonnet does. I love the look of a carbon bonnet, but for the defect/cop's look at you factor I'd rather a spray painted fibreglass or GTR bonnet
-
what did you order out of intrest? anyone else got there's yet
-
I am not positive, but I'd say around 8.5 - 9.5kg, not positve, but it doesn't weigh much at a guess, i'd say its half the weight of the GTS bonnet, which I reckon would be close to 18kg i have not long replaced mine with a GTR bonnet, its heaps lighter, mine cost me $500 for the bonnet and grill and 300 to paint Carbon looks cool, but stands out too much for my liking. You could always get a fibreglass bonnet and have it painted, i have seen a few and they look good provided they are preparred correctly Chris

There is a adjsutment on the back of the computer as well, here is the page from the RB20 manual...... It is to do with the idle adjustment, and like the one on the manifold, it will not adjsut anything more than the idle You can adjust overall AFR's by installing a bleed valve on one of the vacum lines going to your fuel pressure reg. I have seen a article in a old Zoom mag where this was done. From memory -Joel- had one intstalled on his car with decent results chris

Great stuff, look forward to the end result!

I think from memory, in a manual on the net it has something to do with the idle adjustment or something like that

rebuilding coilovers - HELP
Chris32 replied to Chris32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I guess the prices I got where quite high, as I was quoted $250 per shock and $100 for each spring platform and a further $150 for the tops - around $750 - 800 all up was the price. I guess it all comes down to what each person has available to them at the time. Considering the price of jap coilovers, the cost to rebuild them is quite cheap in my opinion. I am not saying that the Bilstiens and Koni's are better or worse than the Jap stuff, just letting everyone know that you can have your busted suspension repaired for a fraction of the cost of buying the equivalent japanese product. If I ever had to buy brand new sus, then Iwould most probably get a set of Bilstiens and springs to suit, but I bought a set of used coilovers, one busted, and I got it fixed So anyone who has a set of coilovers, you can get them repaired if one of them dies thats all I am trying to say wether you guys see value in that, its up to you, becasue at the end of the day, you are the one opening up your wallet to pay for it Chris -
rebuilding coilovers - HELP
Chris32 replied to Chris32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
thats correct, they were not standard GTSt shocks, but a set of Quantum coilovers. I priced a set of Bilsteins, by the time I got all the bits for them (the coilover platform height adjsutment collars etc) it was going to cost me over $700 just for the rear shocks, so for half the price I have pretty much new rear shocks. Don't you think that its a good price or service? I thought it was great, considering the cost of replacement suspension, and they can re-valve to suit for no extra charge For someone such as myself who has no access in my state to have suspension such as I have rebuilt, I think its a great service -
R32 GTS (RB20 DET) Reliability??
Chris32 replied to benl1981's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
the traffic is typical to and from work traffic I guess, I travel 25k's to and from work and it takes around 45mins to a hour depending on how heavy the traffic is. Highway driving I average around 8-9 litres per 100kms, but I give it a bit every now and then, I love over taking commodore drivers On the track I had quite appaling economy, I did almost 80 km's on the track in total and used a massive 38 litres of petrol, but I guess you are either accelerating or stopping, so that is to be expected With a clean set of injectors, decent wheel allignment (that makes a decent differance) and a working o2 sensor, you 'should' be able to get 400kms to a tank no probs Chris -

rb26 cams in rb20 with standard ECU works!
Chris32 replied to WazR32GTSt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I think the general thinking is they are all pretty much the same with minimal differances? Sydneykid would be the best bet to answer this, as from memory he has seen cars with 32,33 and 34 GTR cams installed -
rebuilding coilovers - HELP
Chris32 replied to Chris32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Put my rebuilt rear shocks in last night, everything went well. I went for a quick drive last night and they feel great, the past two months I have been running around on stock tyres and a set of half decent rear shocks, so it was great the get some decent sus and tyres back on the car. I also noticed that my front left was starting to get a bit noisy too, so looks like I will need to get them done soon as well Overall I reckon they have done a top job, I guess only time will tell if thats the case, but so far I cannot speak highly enough of their service - reccomend them to anyone. After being given the run around locally, it was good to finally get some decent service from someone. It ended up costing me $147.50 to get each shock rebuilt, and the postage cost me around $80 there and back, so it works out to be reasonably cheap, cheapre thnbuying new shocks anyhow! Will let everyone know how they go over the next few months Chris -
good stuff, I have everything now, PFC, injectors and resistor pack How hard was it to wire in? some pics would be HUGELY appreiceated!!! Chris
