post your email adress and I'll email you the entire manual as a PDF. I have one, they are easy to program - this is the short version press power and overtake boost button together and hold, should go into P1 mode - give it a full boost in 3rd, take it to redline, then it should come up P2, do the same again and then it should beep and then should work as per normal. If it doesn't, then use the manual program in PDF file Chris

I agree with Sydneykid, from all the cars I have seen RB20/RB25 AFM seem to do pretty much the same thing? And its the Z32 offers the greater resolution Don't know about more flow, they are pretty well the same size aren't they? I know SR/CA AFM's are tiny compared to the RB AFM's, but all of the RB AFM's, apart from GTR's which seem smaller, are the same size from what I have seen?
-
Ok sounds like it would be best to replace it, as at the moment with 1bar its making 200rwkw, so I am guessing with 1.2bar its just to much vacum for the poor old rubber pipe to handle! Should be a good upgrade either way, I'll keep everyone posted of the results
-
Interesting, as I am 100% positive that its causing the problem, to what degree I am unsure but high boost is pretty well useless at the moment What about using some coiled wire to wind inside the pipe? Has anyone tried this?
-
nah, its been re-programmed so the boost cut is about 22 or 24 psi from memory, definatley pipe sucking shut When its cold (weather wise) the rubber hose stays quite hard and isn't a problem, I have seen 1.3bar on the gauge in 3rd when it was cold, so its no boost/airflow cut, as they have all been lifted quite high to stop this

Just want to know if anyone has done this and how effective it was I have a problem at the moment where when I run highish boost i can hear the rubber pipe between the AFM and the turbo sucking shut, and the car drops massively in performance. When running normal boost - 1bar, its fine but when I wind it up a bit further to 1.2bar I can hear it really sucking the intake and restricting the inlet air - really frustrating as the little HKS turbo really want to go, but it is being choked! So I want to change the pipework to metal to stop this from happening, but want to know if anyone has had any troubles, especially with the AFM playing up due to the pipework being changed? Thanks for any info Chris

Bit of topic but since Martin has posted a few reply to differant questions..... Have you had any experience with the new Tomei Reytec ECU's? I am deciding what to do about programable managment on mt 32GTSt, and was thinking about either this or the AP Engineering version of the PowerFC? Any input would be greatly appricieated, as I will be getting you to tune it sorry to hijack the thread a bit

yeah, thats a pretty good idea, as it would highlight all the shit we have to put up with for owning a import car Although I remember a while back they did a story about street drags in Sydney I think, something about how they had no drag strip to race legally on so they raced on the streets. From memory it kinda backfired and there was a huge police pressence and a crackdown on any sort of street racing Might be a good thing though, at least we can get it out in the public, and hopefully get some support. Has anyone ever though about a petition to get a heap of signatures to present to the correct members of parliment to try and get them on board and help us get some sort of help in regards to the problems we are all having?
-
yeah, well look at the facts - 18yrs old, P plates, driving a modified turbo import, with a BOV! I mean, no offence, but there would have to be a double murder as you were driving past to take that sort of attention away from you! Thats just the facts really
-
yeah, thats why I do it, because I know that they are the ones that are most likely to pick on us. I have been through heaps of bretho's and never been looked twice at, mainly because of the cops that do the breath testing (the majority anyway) are normal cops, with kids and friends with cars like ours, and couldn't give a toss about if we have a BOV or turbo timer. Every now and then though there will be a cop who wants to show off a bit and will ask for a closer look, but thats what we are up against I would really like to get a piece of paper from a engineer, just to wave in a cops face after one of us is pulled over for doing nothing wrong - apart from having a intrest in cars and owning a car that is not part of what they consider a 'normal' type of car. It would be nice to have a bit of confidence driving down Anzac Highway, knowing that if a cop pulls you over, all you have to do is open your glovebox and produce a piece of paper that tells them that there is nothing wrong with your car, and its completly legal!

yeah, I was told from a good source that there was a cop that works here now who used to own a modded Skyline in WA - apparently he defected someone for (among other things) a Z32 AFM and PowerFC on a R33 GTS25T. Look out for him, apparently he is a motorbike cop.....so do what I do, everytime I see a bike cop, take the next street and get as far away as possible!!!. Also does anyone know what the legal ride height is for a 32 GTSt? Also, hows this, yesterday sitting at the traffic lights, a cop was next to me, having a good look at my car, and a old Magna pulled up on the other side of him. So there I was lined up at the traffic lights with a cop and a Magna, and it started to blow smoke all over the cops and my car and he didn't even look at it!!!!! What a asshole!!! There was a car that was clearly in violation of the law, blowing more smoke than I have seen from a car that is still drivable, but all the cop was intersted in was my Skyline. I really wanted him to pull me over just so I could have a go for not noticing the piece of smoke blowing rust bucket next to him (glad he let me go tho!!) Oh well, whinge over for the day, but just shows how much cops are focussing on our cars, not cars that SHOULD be defected for rust and emissions - the system/cops is total bullshit What happens if everyone who is defected pulls the sticker off and refused to go for inspection? I'm sure if one or two did it they would take action, but if everyone who gets defected did the same thing where would they know where to start? Maybe we as a group should approach a engineer and get all our cars certified as being roadworthy? I can see it now - SAU SA GROUP BUY - SKYLINE ENGINEER'S/ROADWORTHY CERTIFICATES!!!!!!

Good to hear that someone is willing to make a bit of a stand on this, as its becoming a bit of a joke Did you konw that cops have a book about defectable stuff for cars, and it has a whole scection on imported cars, what to look for, stock ride heights etc. It even tells the cops to look in the ashtray and on the strut tower area for boost controllers and turbo timers, what a bov is and looks like, stock front and rear track widths - everything!!! Also, me and a few mates were having a chat with Martin Donnon at this years Autosalon, it was just after James from D1 had his car defected by mail after appearing in HPI, he told us that there is a traffic cop that has recentley moved from WA to here, and used to be into Skylines, and being a traffic cop he was pulling people over and lifting the bonnet stuff and defecting the really detailed stuff - like he'd see a Z32 AFM, and then pull out the kick panel to find your PowerFC, defect you for that, then look for boost controllers, adjustable suspension parts, adjustable castor rods - everything he could he'd defect people for - a real defect Nazi!! But it would be great if we could get some real action about this, I hope you stick with it Steve
