  1. Clashes with the footy, so they move it - so it clashes with our dyno day!! any idea what time the meet starts?, maybe if the dyno stuff is over by lunch it might give everyone who wants to go to the drags enough time to get down there.

  9. After pulling out the stock stereo, there is about 10-15 wires that you don't use. Its one of those, sorry I don't know which one, but I'll pull it out on the weekend and find out
  10. Has it got a non-standard radio/cd player? I just repleced my radio (stock) with a cd player. I found that the power for the clock runs of one of the wires that goes into the stock radio! I just touched each wire until I saw the clock come on. hope this helps Chris

  12. Thanks for the info John, will the 33 be ready? Should be a good night, just hope the weather is kind for everyone. I reckon it would be good to have a few cars go down as a group. Nothing looks better than a heap of Skylines showing up togehter. Is there any chance of us being able to arrange for us to park as a group in the pit area. I hate leaving my car out in the dusty car park/paddock? Who's going?
  13. I reckon its caused by the massive amount of extra volume that the pump is pumping. It would be pumping much more fuel back, and when its getting to the outlet pipe in the tank its blasting back in around the fuel tank , causing air to be pushed from the tank into the fuel around the pump, like when you squirt a hose into a bucket of water. By re-positioning the line coming back in, the fuel isn't pumping air around the pump., and no more noise
  14. fixed that noise, its pretty simple to fix. I found out that the return line from the motor was blowing air around the pump, causing the noise. Was better with a full tank of fuel, but still not right. I attached a peice of fuel hose to the outlet and placed it so the fuel coming back was pumped at right angles to the pickup and the air bubbles were not near the pick up. No more noise.:uh-huh:
  15. When does this happen with yours? I only have noticed it after idling the car for a couple of minutes Know how to fix this?
  16. got Falken 451's, heaps heaps good. Can't fault them, apart from the rears tend to spin up off the line(traffic lights!!) 235x45x17 front 255x40x17 back Fronts have worn a bit on the inside, but this is due to camber/allignment. both have done about 35,000 and still have at least 35% tread Good in the wet:uh-huh:
  17. Hi all, just installed a Bosch 040 pump to my car. It runs well, no hassles there, but it makes this noise every so often that makes me nervous. At idle, probably once a minute or so every now and then it makes a very quick noise. Its like a suck/grind in one hit. Very weird. What could it be? I have fitted the stock pump until I work out what it is. The pump is new, and is sitting at the same height, maybe a few mm's lower?
  18. I have one of those, Trust/Greddy USA make them, very well made
  19. I'd be up for a few laps/drags. Any idea of dates? if we can make it later in the year (late spring?) we'd probably have more luck with weather, and get more people to come along.:burnout:
  20. The brass rings in the Tomei kit are to mechanically lock out the HICAS actuating rods located next to the diff. I haven't put these in yet, but have done the rest of the installation. Main reason being is that you need to get your wheels re-aligned because it gives each wheel more toe in, and I have only just got them alligned.
  21. If you want to turn of the HICAS, and can put up with the light, you can just pull the sensor connection in the engine bay. It will allow no signal to got the HICAS computer. I put in the tomei kit,and it tells you to do this. The interceptor that plugs in to the HICAS computer is just ot stop the light coming on. i'll scan the instructions tonight and post them Chris
  22. even though my car is pretty stock and hasn't changed since my last dyno (140kw), I'd give it a run. The more the better
  23. Hi John, bummer about the gearbox, must be making plenty of power though! Congrats on the times, impressive stuff. Any idea when the next meet is on? Hope your beast is ready by the time there is another meet. Keep up the good work, Chris
  24. Don't know about the fuel pump, but the VL dosen't make as much power standard so I doubt its any better. I know a TT Supra fuel pump flows quite well, and can be had quite cheap. As far as I know, series 1 turbos have a steel compressor and cermaic exhaust wheel. These turbos are very good, especially on a RB20. series 2 have a nylon compressor and ceramic exhaust wheel, steer well clear of these, they tend to fail quite quickly
  25. Joel, what turbo did you end up getting, or are you still deciding? Have you spoke to Ben at Tilbrooks (Brains) He has a R31 wagon with a HKS 2530 on a Rb20, been in Zoom etc. That car goes pretty hard. It makes around 220 at the wheels, but being auto with 2500rpm stall, I don't think lag is to much of a problem in that car. I think that fact remains that any bigger than stock turbo will be a bit laggier, but the trade of is consitant boost right up to the redline I am in the process of getting **** toghether with my car for a bit of a power-up, including turbo, bigger intercooler and maybe new injectors or pressure regulator on the existing ones. Let me know how you go Chris
