  1. Can't find this info anywhere, does anyone know for sure what type of fuel they ran in the R32 GTR era? Cheers
  2. Wow, where about's was this? Do the cops know?
  3. Some good arguments for and against! What I've experienced. From 2000 - 2007 my daily was my 32 GTSt, it went from stock to most of the bits done to make 200kw and have aspirations as a bit of a track car. It ended up loud, hard to drive (clutch) and not very comfortable with a mech. diff/soild bushes etc. I sold it to another forum user and had written off owning another import. I bought a 31 Wagon as a daily, as we'd bought a house. The 31 used more fuel than the 32, so that was a shock at first. Had the 31 for 3 years and it ended up wearing out. Kid no.1 made an appereance Got rid of the 31, and bought a Commodore, on gas. Boring as all hell, handling was terrible. Only thing it had going for it was the price of gas (55c/L) and it was roomy. Kid number 2 appears, I inherit the missus's Hyundai Excel and she uses the Commodore to lug the kids. The Excel was cheap to run as a daily, however it was painfully slow. It did everything poorly apart from use oil! We end up getting a small 4wd and I get the Commo back. Faster than the Excel, but again pretty boring. Being someone who enjoys driving any car that makes me smile, things had to change. Picked up a Recaro SR3 seat for the Commo. Now at least it felt ok to sit in, driving however was still boring. Thinking about another import........... Gas goes up to 90c/L - so the price is much the same as running a car on petrol Saw a Stagea 260RS for sale, and went up with a mate for a look. Not quite for me, but he loved it and bought it! The import bug bites again. After a few months of working on a few bits of the Stag and driving it a few times, it was a revelation! Time to get back into something fun. Start looking at practical imports that I can chuck the kids in a few days a week and on the weekends. Bought the 34 4 door. Its awesome, most of the modern touches, does everything a sports car should, and isn't all that much dearer to run than any other car I've owned. Overall I spend around $40 a week more than owning an Excel/Commodore, however after driving boring cars for almost 7 years the extra cost is just cheap entertainment. Been my daily for close to 18 months now, it gets between 9-11L per 100 depending on how much fun I have, carts the kids to everything on the weekends and is a pleasure to own. I look forward to driving it every day, and the kids helping me wash it on the weekend. I'd never own a car that I don't look forward to driving again! To me, my car is the perfect combination of practical and fun, and they are cheap for a car with such a combination of performance and practicality. The only thing I won't do is modify it to a point where it becomes a un-comfortable or practical car to drive everyday, as to me, the whole point of the car will be lost
  4. Can anyone tell me the distance between the bolts holding on the compressor cover on a stock rb25 Neo turbo? Searched but could not find
  5. It's funny how things work. Had a paver flick up and get smash into the dump pipe today, it's cracked the weld on the flange Looks like it will be coming off for repair and a test fit
  6. Yeah that's the plan Being a daily I might pull the dump off and test it on the turbo first, rather than get half way through and have to go searching for something else
  7. This is what I have, well 99% sure without pulling it off to check inside. Can anyone see any dramas using it?
  8. Any updates on this?
  9. Check your pcv valve is functioning The catch can shouldn't make any difference unless there is excessive blow by being sucked into the inlet
  10. Interested to see how you go with those pads
  11. Ok cheers. Dunno what brand it is, as it was on the car when I bought it
  12. Will it fit however?
  13. Hi guys, sorry to dig up an older thread I've just got a 2535 for my car. Goal is quick street car, so needs response rather than all out top end, hence why I chose the 2535 Quick question - I can't find any info anywhere to tell me if a all in one split dump/front pipe will fit with the HKS exhaust housing, as they have the divider built in Anyone running a similar dump pipe?
  14. Yeah, but your car is pumping some serious power also! Mines a daily driver with 190rwkw, seems to be quite a few pad options for street use that perform very well. I might try the Intima SR's next on the front
  15. My front pads are due for replacement soon - QFM A1RM's on there at the moment. My car has braided lines, cusco brace, slotted/dimpled rotors and I'm running the RBF600 fluid and the brakes are awesome. Everyone who drives it comments on the brakes. I'll try something a bit more rotor freindly this time around however, but for outright performance I can't fault them.
  16. WTB R34 front reo, prefereably series 1
  17. Yeah, without a doubt any GTR is a sensational car, Interestingly enough the auction prices in Japan for 34 GTR's is still quite high, comparable with the 35 GTR - so in terms of a car from an investment point of view the 34 is a good option.
  18. If I was in your situation, I'd get a 35 GTR over a 34 without question. The R34 GTR is the top of the line offering of the R34 platform, the R35 GTR is a designed from scratch Supercar If you ever go sick of it, I'm sure there would be a mountain of R34 GTR + cash your way swaps on offer!
  19. Been wanting one of these for ages, a genuine Origin carbon roof lip. I was swapping between buying a black one and painting it the same as the car, or plastidipping it black like the weather shields, however the carbon fibre looked great when we tested it on the car to see how it looked - and it could go straight on without paint etc It's a nice blend between th silver on the roof and the dark tint on the window, really happy with it Cheers to Christian at Savanna Motorsport, big help and great customer service! I think I've found my new favourite parts shop http://www.originaustralia.com.au/
  20. Obvious question, if the heads been rebuilt and cams have come out etc i'd be checking that the cam timing (in terms of their relation to the crank and the other cam) is correct. Sounds like the timing is out If the AFM was dead it still should idle
  21. Hey Mat, quick question - how much lower did the seats sit compared to stock? With a helmet my head touches to roof with the stock seats
  22. As Ben says, if you've got tyres that mis-matched in terms of rolling diameter it will cause issues. I had 225/45/18 and 265/35/18 combo and at the slightest drop of the clutch the TCS would kick in - actually it was a little dangerous as if you had to merge into traffic it would cut the power! When the fronts needed new tyres I went to a 225/40/18 and its much happier now, you really have to drive quite hard to get the TCS working, its made it all much happier If the tyres are the same all round (or the very similar rolling diameter) and you have issues then I'd be looking at the sensors
  23. Took some pics the other day with the phone after a polish, came up pretty well. Washed, clay bar using a Bowden's Kit, and poslished with a Mother's Wax Attack kit I bought last year, using Mother's Cleaner Wax. Does any other sealant need to go on over the cleaner wax? It says that its the only step required, and it has left a nice layer of wax on it. Looking to try some differant waxes in the near future, as this was done in a bit of a rush after work one night
  24. The real worry will be in a few years time, and the second hand units come onto the market. If its hard to tell Real from Fake new ones, used sets will be next to impossible!
