Gday all,
Not your usual skyline forum member, I drive a lightly modified EA Falcon. Working the NA 6 doesn't give great gains, so I looked into turbocharging it. Basically, I can do this for around 3-4 grand running the standard computer and injectors but getting it engineered and roadworthy, passing EPA etc is a major hassle and makes me not want to do it.
So I am looking to other cars that will provide me with more performance without all the hassles that turboing the falcon would have. I'm a big fan of Nissans, so this naturally is the choice for my next car.
So basically I have three options. r32/3 gtst skyline, s13 silvia, or cefiro (the rwd rb engined one). I'm a fan of the old laurels but they're a bit rare so I don't know if I'd find one suitable so I'll stick with those 3.
Basically I love the performance of the skyline but, no offense, dislike them in that there are so many modified ones around. Silvia is a little small for my liking. So i was thinking the Cefiro.
Can anyone help me out as I don't know enough about this car to be confident in buying one. They came as an rb20det but I see some rb25det ones around. Engine conversion or factory? Also I heared somewhere that suspension is interchangeable with a silvia. So basically it is everything I want - skyline/silvia performance in a shell bigger than a silvia and different from the skyline. What do I look for when buying one? How reliable are they? Positive/negative feedback on ceffys compared to skylines? How much to pay, how many kilometers? What goes wrong with them? Basically newb questions for buying a ceffy. I've read reviews of it on autospeed and the like, seems like my number one option to pursue.
Any help is very greatly appreciated.
