  1. Got the ebc installed and set now with some testing- set the duty at 58 and gain at 30. This gives 21.6-22 psi boost as a rough base. Fine tuning and rpm point setting will be on dyno after I wire up the rpm wire n resistor, a SAU member Michael has kindly offered to show how its done on his, will be seeing him shortly. The ebc is mounted vertically above the left knee with velcro dots from Bunnings after the original double stick tape fell off.. Any other suggestions? Was thinkin top of steering column but dont like all these bright gadgets too visible
  2. Managed to partly hook up the ebc today, got the ground and +ve off the ciggy lighter wires and boost hose tee'd off the gauge. Display lights up and works. Need to wire up the rpm wire but not sure if a 10k resistor is sufficient as mentioned by the guy a few posts above. Anyone with experiences? And is the Mac valve ok to be cable tied to the ABS pipes running along the firewall? Doesnt have built in brackets to fix to anything.. The Gizzmo also doesnt have ports noted as NC and NO-these are called 1 and 2.
  3. thanks for confirming mate, touch up tune it will be... Was thinking of mounting the ebc up on the steering column but now you said it, I think it will go inside the ashtray. Pretty tiny unit and will fit. And maybe keep that boost gauge and tee the boost line off it, I kinda like the boost gauge and seeing it flick up n down but don't like too many gadgets in my car, simple is key. Already have the PFC commander sitting on the vents using a phone holder. Can I tee the wires off the boost gauge too or is that a no no? And yes got a multimeter aswl..cheers
  4. Hey Michael, thanks for the offer mate, I would like to make a visit tomorrow after lunch sometime if you free, want to see how you did yours, esp that resistor and ecu pin. And maybe get a few tips on how to use the controller as well. Are you free over the weekend? My no. is 0416424446 if you don't mind dropping a text? thanks man Ron
  5. Hey guys, done a lot of searching but couldn't really find what I wanted, hence thought I'd post. Installing a Gizzmo IBC-R ebc tomorrow, want to cut off my aftermarket boost gauge off the dash and use the red and black wires off that for the ebc, that ok? Assume it is +ve and ground. Got a test light to check. No need for the boost gauge now, do most of you keep yours? And RPM signal from ECU - pin 7, yellow wire is it? Just going to splice into it. Is that pin7 read looking top down at connector face or top of connector? Finally I assume I don't need a touch up tune as I will keep the same boost (controlled by a manual T controller) 22psi currently dropping off to 18psi from 4200rpms up? Hoping to keep consistent 22psi to 7400pms. thanks Ron
  6. Bump $550 final price to grab a Nistuned R34GTT/Stagea ECU with a $290rwkw tune in it!
  7. ^^This. Listen to Stao- he speaks on experience and knows his stuff.
  8. I just bought a Gizzmo IBC-R ebc online yesterday and the seller told me it uses the same valve as the turbosmart eboost2!
  9. Thanks mate, that is definitely on the cards now..
  10. My tuner said that at 23psi it wasn't making any more power so they backed it off to 22psi on a safe but still optimal tune, recommended Type A Poncams for more power and an EBC to hold boost steady up top. EBC I will get, cams not, they didn't mention anything about exhaust manifold being restrictive or housing. Yavuz did say that with a bigger housing I could get more power but that's only after I asked, so not really recommended me one unless I really wanted to go that way. He said these Precisions will easily boost to 30psi with e85 and the right setup.
  11. Whether its a $100 exhaust or a $2000 branded shiny one, flow is all that matters and mines sorted flow wise so that makes no sense. Stock mani 'could be a possible restriction. 0.63 housing- Im not sure how different this is to the garrett version. And 15% less kw on 98 than e85 'generally goin by info on many forums.. In either case i should theoretically be at least over 300..
  12. Yeh mate, 0.63 like Kurtis did on his neo- 372kw from that on e85 and high mount mani. If you take 15% off that to get a rough estimate on 98 you get 316kw which is roundabouts what I should be making yeah? 316kw and 280kw is a big difference, even if mine is low mount
  13. I'm already at the limit of my boost level of 22psi on 98 fuel so not looking for more boost. But that boost is dropping down to a max of 4psi after 4500rpms onwards, so am looking to hold it up as far as possible and bring it on harder/make a few more kws and quicker car.
  14. Do most of you run ebcs over manual boost controllers? Holding 2 extra psi could be the difference between an exciting car and an 'almost exciting one
  15. Maybe you guys are onto something...it looks like its pointing to the CAS again. Scotty had pointed that out earlier when it was running inconsistently with the Nistune, its not now.
  16. From my sig, sir
  17. Maybe GTScot is right, I always have a funny feeling now that its a bit harder to reach 7000+rpms now cos the car is already going too fast etc, as compared to before. Maybe the tacho reading is off. Maybe its doing 7400rpms already and displaying as 7000 or say I have reached 7000 already when it is showing 6600.
  18. Tyres diff all same, stock ecu and nistune I was doing 100km/h in 5th at 3000rpms, PFC now I'm doing 2600rpms -normal motorway cruising. And no gay 22" rims, running 18" RAYs wheels
  19. So are you fellows saying 100km/h in 5th should be @3000rpms?
  20. Any of you Sydney lads welcome to go for a spin in my 34 on a weekend - we will do 5th gear at 2600rpms - seeing is believing............
  21. This really baffles me as well, but that's how it is, even when I bought the car - stock turbo, 12psi etc, it would do 100km/h in 5th at 3000rpms. Only now different story. And manual yes, Manuel Kasko, no.
  22. More revs needed before for same power/speed looks like it? Remember its a freer exhaust now, so boosts quicker and makes more power at least 400rpms earlier. And more timing been added across the rpm scale. And yeh they didn't tune the Nistune correctly, not even after the second time.
