  1. It doesn't feel quicker, much less the same, maybe pulls a wee bit harder in 3rd/4th and a lot better under 3000rpms - more light/torquey down low, this is the area that wasn't tuned well with Nistune. Also cold starts and idle is much smoother and like factory now, before was rough and I had to crank twice/push gas pedal to start.
  2. If it was CAS, a tuner like Yavuz or even Mark should have been able to pick it up straight away and inform me? Or tested a different one. Well changing the exhaust definitely did feel a noticeable gain on the road from driving feel (without touch up tune), after the touch up tune it felt a lot lighter and torqueyer down low, so definitely the exhaust had some restriction. One strange thing now 100km/h in 5th is @2600rpms, before exhaust/touch up tune 100km/h was at 3000rpms...
  3. How much more power do you think a 0.82 housing will give me? 10kw? Not worth the removal/fabrication of gate/ labor again I think. Yavuz suggested cams and also an ebc to keep boost up. Any guesses as to how much I will gain with an ebc holding boost well. 280rwkw was made on 18psi not 22.
  4. Yeh, but that's tuned for 18psi and my car now runs on 22psi as set from the T boost controller I would think. Putting that ecu on, once it goes past 18psi could result in a BANG aye.. lol
  5. One thing however, this is a reasonably responsive turbo - 200kw@4000rpms and 110kw@3000rpms -- the rear oval muffler with the 2.75" guts is still not removed though.
  6. What I was tryin to say is I dont think the turbo is a limitation itself since 372kw and 360kw was made with the same turbo on a neo and an sr (both e85) respectively, as posted by the guy above. And mick O did 335kw on stock mani, so have many others gone over 300 on stock mani. Just my opinion
  7. That 5558 was also 0.63a/r btw
  8. A guy with PT5558 on R34 neo made 372rwkw @26psi, the only difference- he had e85, top mount ex manifold and ffp. Mick O made 335kw on stock manifold btw...
  9. Stao, Im already running heaps of boost on 98 @22psi, so thats outa question, manifold n bigger gate imho is a waste, 0.82 rear could give gains though
  10. My car made 280rwkw at 18psi, not 22psi, by the time it made the power after 7k rpms thats how much the boost had dropped. Will an ebc hold consistent 22psi till 7k rpms? Power might go up then but by how much is anybodys guess.
  11. 286rwkw Nistuned R34GTT/Stagea ECU only $610 now!
  12. have read a few good things about this ebc: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-GIZZMO-3-5Bar-IBCR-RPM-Electronic-Boost-Controller-R32-R33-R34-Skyline-/171197109666?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27dc2495a2 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/All-New-GIZZMO-3-65Bar-53PSI-MS-IBC-MSIBC-v3-Electronic-Boost-Controller-/171236535378?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27de7e2c52 Out of those two, which one is closer to the old proven Gizzmo IBCR? Yay or nay?? And Scotty, no I haven't tried a different CAS, cant find one lol..
  13. Yeh it was making better power at lower boost too (286rwkw @18-16psi) but it does drive much smoother now esp in low rpms before boost and noticeably more power/torque in low rpms too. Now 280rwkw @22-18psi it makes less power with a better exhaust and supposedly better ecu; so it can only be one thing wrong with the system, (not the ecu) need I say it, and yes dynos do read different too. I will re visit them to get the power loss at downshifts sorted, have cleared my inbox, please try sending pm now, cheers
  14. 3" metal intake, 40mm gate, plumb back bov and plumb back screamer to 3" dump
  15. Cheers-mite be my next mod- will any ebay electronic boost controller like cheap china hdi do or only apexi avcr/ greedy profec spec 2 etc? Hope touch up tune wont be required as its already tuned to 22psi- Im about sick of all this tuning which isnt leading anywhere much..
  16. Oh that explains it then..4psi drop is a bit much though.. Yes I have a turbosmart T controller off gate and other end connected to nipple in compressor housing, 18psi spring in wastegate so not lacking in that department. One nipple on the top of the gate is unconnected though?
  17. Its a 40mm wategate off housing, T boost controller so no actuator. I also dont see why its dropping 4psi up top now when before it was going from to 20-18 and 18-16 with the jem tune/nistune.
  18. Thanks guys I will ask them to have a re-look, lesson learnt is that no matter how reputable the tuner, they never get it right in the first tune, not in my experience anyway
  19. Well that problem was there in the first full tune when I swapped to PowerFC from Nistune, I asked them to fix it this time, it was only a touch-up tune and 'massaging' it in this time after the exhaust fix, nothing major. Its definitely a 3-4sec major power drop with downshifting, sounds tune related aye?
  20. Update- cat replaced with hollow 3" compliance cat (for now) and necking in mid muffler eliminated. Drive feel on road was noticeably punchier n free-er on mid-high rpms. Then after touch up tune- a dissapointing 280rwkw at 22psi dropping to 18psi. Is this why I made low power? Precision 5558 on 98/ Rb25. Previous boost drop was 2psi, now its 4 psi?? Only 10kw gain from previous 270rwkw at 20psi. But hugely different drive-a lot punchier n snappier in all gears and a lot more torque/boost in low rpms from feel - lighter throttle input required in low rpms. See dyno sheet. One big problem is that during downshifts as in overtaking or motorway pulls from 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd there is a massive power loss for 3-4 secs and then it suddenly boosts and pulls hard as normal. During this time it is like 50-60% down on power -like hitting a brickwall or NA yaris/civic spec torque. It ONLY happens on downshifts not upshifts. Is it tune related or a BOV or boost leak? Yavuz and Mark have confirmed the tune is as good as should be.
