Na Wolverine, I had a HKS cannon before, got rid of it, I much like my quiet oval, just hope its not a restriction, Blackkers do you mind taking a pic up inside your muffler tip like I did above, I want to see how big your hole is cos mine looks small lol.. Do you guys not think my mid-muffler could be the culprit with that tapered 2.71inch exit at the back?
-
Last pic I hope- back of xforce rear muffler- 3 inch joint
-
Ey Angry RB yes would be good if you can, thanks..! You can see mine above- just posted

Updates on exhaust study: discovered theres a taper at where the rear exhaust pipe joins with back of mid muffler. Exhaust confirmed 77mm outer dia (3 inch), that taper is 69mm (2.71inches) XForce rear muffler is fine, seems to have an angled inner pipe to offset at back entry. - inner dia looks small? !

Thanx Scotty - its goin back Monday for a quick check with Yavuz, will ask them why they didnt drop the exhaust seeing as the conclusion was made that its definitely the exhaust. Cam timing as set by me with timing gun and confirmed by Mark is spot on 15degs at idle and also on PFC. I took cat off last week to hammer out some welding dags where the flanges welded to the cat. Hope I havent shattered out the innards with the heavy hammer/screwdriver blows to thedags.. ;S. Where is the thread about Anthonys CAS on the R34GTT, couldnt find the link, if you dont mind posting here? Would like to read cheers

Thanks guys I have doubts on the mid muffler as well as its seemingly necked down at the back, unsure about front, will check. Is it a stock item, and if replacement needed then just get a generic 3' in/out mid muffler right? What about the xforce rear oval muffler, anyone here made 310+rwkw on that? Confirming that cat is intact, was dropped last week

Boostdrop towards top end is 2psi in both graphs- expected as I use a Turbosmart T manual boost controller

Dyno Graphs Current one with Power FC and previous one with Nistune a year ago

Xforce oval muffler
-
Yes I took the cat out last week, insides intact strong as ..
-
So now you can almost see my whole setup- does it still look like the gay cat or the offset oval muffler - its 3' entry/exit, didnt realize it was offset when I bought it years ago
-
Muffler on my car: maybe this isthe problem cos its offset not straight- Mark mentioned offset mufflers create significant power loss- its nice n quiet though
-
Yeh gotta try that tomorrow- see the joint at the rear of mid muffler -looks like a step down to me? More pics - now you guys can see my whole setup lol
-
Ok pics from my phone- pic of the cat by itself is an indication of what it is
-
Ok my exhaust- custom 3' dump from back of turbo to cat, wastegate welded to turbine housing and plumbed back to dump just before cat. 100 cell gay metal cat 3' in/out and 5' body/ bokka brand. 3' pipe from cat to oval mid-muffler. 3' pipe from mid-muffler to X-force 3' straight through oval muffler.

Lol I dont even know how to measure back pressure, and no, my PFC is sweet, as confirmed by Mark from Unigroup. He said mine was one of not many cars to be very clean with no issues apart from the bloody exhaust. And they're adamant it is the exhaust because it has so many variables and most cars they've tuned which were down on power was found to have a restrictive exhaust, notably the cat etc; Mine was overheating and just wouldnt make power even with higher boost, power actually dropped, and according to Yavuz thats an exhaust restriction- intercoolers doin a brilliant job, confirmed.. And yes it does feel significantly slower/retarded timing from driving feel. Yavuz confirmed that timing has been retarded a fair bit by Mark.

nope..

Don't know the flow numbers mate, and its got two names Bokka and Loboka if you ebay it..so dodgy as, but surprisingly good build quality and the metal internals have held 2 years of hard driving. Exhaust system is 3" all the way with stock looking oval mid muffler but that is seemingly 3" as well.

Hey guys, a little dilemma... R34GTT, Precision 5558 / 0.63 a/r, 40mm gate off housing, plumb-back 3" exhaust system, Power FC, usual support mods, stock coils, stock BOV, 100 cell Lobokka metal high flow cat, 100% street car. 286rwkw at 18-16psi by JEM with old Nistune. Changed to Power FC I picked up cheap to get retune and 'better' ecu / tunability. Unigroup say there is a restriction in my exhaust system - the cat itself because it wouldn't make any more power going from 20psi to 23psi on 98 fuel. Power actually dropped, made a crappy 270rwkw at 20psi and very retarded timing! Recommended to change cat/ de cat with a stock shell outside etc; Current state is a very safe but very retarded tune (timing) on power FC till I get cat sorted. Options: http://justjap.com/index.php/engine/exhaust/catco-3-high-flow-catalytic-converter-nissan-type-3.html - highflow cat http://justjap.com/index.php/engine/exhaust/x-force-3-stainless-high-flow-cat-nissan-type-3.html - highflow cat http://justjap.com/index.php/engine/exhaust/jjr-stainless-racing-de-cat-pipe-nissan-r34-gt-gt-t-skyline.html - decat pipe / illegal Please advise what to do, I already have a eGay 100 cell Loboka metal cat fitted (3" entry/exit) and that's a restriction I'm told? What is the most cost-effective way, second hand is ok. Have read most of the cat threads, too many mixed opinions to decide, my current cat was actually bought based on these forums..

Hi Darkhalf, got your email and many thanks for the above response. I have replied to you : "Hi Pete, thanks so much for the help, saw your post on skylinesaustralia forums, I might call you soon to discuss - all the other problems mentioned above of misfiring etc; have been solved - that was my coil packs - the issue is the vtc not working, and from what I gather from you: "VCT goes from the ECU to the solenoid. There is a VCT indicator inside Nistune which indicates when it is active. You can also trigger VCT from Operations > Active Test > Valve Timing Solenoid inside the Nistune software". So will this solve the vtc issue?? - I gather it needs speed signal, load and temp to be activated.."

Lol no gasket bro

I fart a lot when I eat peanuts. Can anyone tell me why that happens?

Hyper Gear Atr43Ss2 Or Precision 5858?

Yeah power delivery is definitely not linear, not light switch either but close to that hahaa..gotta love that -
Hyper Gear Atr43Ss2 Or Precision 5858?
rondofj replied to s213b's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yep I have the Precision 5558/ 0.63 with 40mm gate off turbo housing and pointing up, turbo is low mount on standard manifold and plumbed back. 286rwkw at 16psi on 98. Boost 18psi dropping to 16psi in the upper rpms. In second it wheel spins around 3700rpms if you come on gas a bit, in third after 5000rpms it pulls reallyy hard to 7500rpms and feels like its got a lot more in it, a great turbo no doubt, think I got issues with my Nistune pulling timing /vct not working because I expected 300rwkw+. I've got a few skinny weld dags hanging off my cat converter opening - wonder if this is a power robber...
