Hey there, just thought I'd ask for suggestions. Since getting my car(R34GTT, PTE5558, 286rwkw) back from the tune in Dec its been running inconsistently as in sometimes its feels smooth, sounds nice, requires less throttle and goes hard. Most other times (mostly always during first 10-15mins) it drives crap- sounds loud/groany/rough, requires more throttle, is lazy and doesnt feel fast, below 4k rpms feels like a boat. Running rich??? But then after turning it off then goin for a drive again while still warm it goes and sounds like it should, light on throttle, noticeably more down low and fast, sounds smooth/purry too. I had sime boost leaks (wasnt boosting to 18psi, which I fixed and now it does). But still think there might be a leak which gets sealed once warm which explains it always running crap for few mins during first startup. This is my main issue. The other thing is first cold startup is always cough cough cough shudder shudder for 5-10secs with idle hovering at 300-500rpms then it goes up and it starts fine. This always happens. IAC i have cleaned before. But if the engines warm after a drive and I start it again theres less cough n shudder and it starts somewhat easier. Not wirried about this startup prob as its probably something minor needing a tweak. All these probs happened after my turbo upgrade n tune (Nistune) so could it be tune related/ afm/ boost leak/ thermostat or what?? Have a slipping clutch as well which will be replaced asap.

I dont know why some say go for 260rwkw, I have a very snappy delivered 290 and want a bit more, maybe 320-330 will be my sweet spot.

Has anyone done a comparison of the 3076R 0.82 against a Precision 5558 0.63 which is what I run now. I was torn between these two turbos and Yavuz from Unigroup told me they are more or less identical on RB25s but that the Precision does start to shine more on high boost which is what their strength is. The power delivery from the 0.63 5558 is also snappy when it comes on and not smooth /boring, that is what I wanted so I am happy. Saying that if I had to do a street RB25 again I would go the 'peoples choice' which is the 3076R 0.82 just to try it out and knowing it is a winner.

Thanks guys already paid for a NPC HD Organic on Thursday, should be here soon, now Im even more sure my clutch is shagged, it bites less easily ( pedal more upwards) and theres a bit of vibration sometimes from idle letting it up

Thanks man the tune is sweet, the day I got it and few days after, it was running great, the economy is SO much better, a trip to the blue mountains and back saw me @half tank with 250kms done, before I would be lucky to get 250kms to a full tank, my old injectors were soaked; so the tune is definitely good, will get yavuz to iron out the leaks and wind it up to 40psi! No seriously 22psi if it can take it. Got some exhaust wrap for the cooler pipes over engine bay, I know won't make much diff, but lets see how much it helps at keeping things cooler so I can screw in some decent boost..and yes that clutch...whooopeee

Hey Matt, how you going mate, welcome to my little party lol, just got NPC to hack down the HD Organic for $800 delivered to Sydney so might be going that way, yes just realized yesterday the 33GTR has the same clutch too, so the 33GTR Exedy HD Sports Organic is my other option... My car's got a suspect leak somewhere/running rich and goes like a dog so not all good , as well as the slipping clutch drama, will give it to Yavuz, he is much closer to my place and public transports not such a hassle as with JEM's location. I noticed three times that my RPMs in 4th 'sticks' to 5000rpm for a bit, then goes down a couple hundred then back to 5000rpms wtf..

Hey anyone knows the size (diameter?) of R34GTT clutch and pressure plates? And thickness. I have heard stories of people being sold the wrong clutch kit which causes issues when fitted, how do I know from the kit its the right one? Looking round for one, just want to be sure I get the right part.

Hello anyone, is this a confirmation that my clutch is shagged- ie not stalling in 4th and 5th takeoff from standstill but being able to move the car slowly forward with some shudder first before grabbing??

Hoping so, ARTZ, did u get your carbotic for $650, R33 push type clutches are sometimes like half price of 34 ones ..the only difference being the pressure plate, man youtube has some pretty interesting animations of how clutches n transmissions work..

Doug recommended me that and said it would hold up to 330rwkw, hes known for underquoting power figures his clutches can hold so I trust him, I have to have organic for softness/street use, hows ur car btw, monster yes?

Does $786 + $45 delivery to Sydney for an R34 NPC organic HD clutch sound about right?
