  1. Since you are so clever stripey horse, I will tell you why I dont like the idea of welding onto the stock manifold - luvpsi above said it for me..
  2. Those pics are convincing enough to not bother with the manifold and weld the gate to the turbo housing instead, as Simon says...
  3. Ur a pretty sad bloke Zebra, not surprising seeing as u from ACT...
  4. Scott, thanks, I do now understand the concept of an external gate setup, and hell no, I'm not going to have an open screamer and hence a massive fine and defect, it will have to plumb back onto my dump, and either collect the gases out from my stock manifold or turbo rear housing - I dunno which is easier /cheaper /more preferred..
  5. Ur right, thats what I figured out - Putting together THIS stuff is about the same or cheaper than the HG ss stuff, the HG turbo on its own is $1500 + GST = $1650 = ouch, I just burnt a large hole in my pocket for a turbo only... Whereas with this one, if ur not happy with the turbo, u can always get another spec turbo or parts (diff wheels / housing etc, as kando sell a wide range of this stuff for cheap) for approx $700 and ur sailing ...! What do u guys think?? And where did u get the 44mm Tial for $300 - the cheapest on eGay is $365 + delivery = approx $400
  6. Looks totally Sick! Good taste mate
  7. Stock manifold yes, don't understand why people r using the aftermaket manifolds for the TD06 turbos unless its for a T67 which fouls the engine cos its too big. What gate r u using dori, Tial?? Are you plumbing it off the turbo housing? Keep us posted....
  8. Just to add that the coilpacks don't missfire on normal loads at all, even moderately opening throttle all the way to redline, it pulls clean and hard, but once you suddenly put foot to floor, then there is some random missfire, sometimes not..
  9. you mean 250rwkw @ approx 13psi while the turbo is still half asleep, should see at least 300rwkw on 20+psi - I hope..
  10. Jez, thats the TD06SL2 -20G with the 10cm housing that u using, not T67, right?
  11. You only running 12psi so thats a good result i reckon, with 22psi 300 should come easy??
  12. Go on Jez you can do it, there is always one or two annoying little things in the way, but you' ll do it mate..
  13. Hey guys, got a few stuff that I wana let go and free up my garage...These bits got left over from my R34 as I replaced them with aftermarket items. The cat converter and fuel pump will fit R32 and R33 as well as R34. Stock catalytic converter, excellent condition with gaskets, heatshield at the bottom is slightly bent and has a few scrape marks, otherwise all good - good if you wana go stock after getting a defect etc - $40 Stock R34 fuel pump, perfect working condtion, will go on R32 and R33 as well - $40 Stock R34 coil packs, there is one or even two bad coil packs in there, I just had them replaced after a miss-fire last week, however it is highly possible that there are at least 4 or 5 GOOD coil packs in there, good to have as a bandaid for trackdays or if your current coilpack(s) get shagged - $80 Please feel free to throw some reasonable offers and I will not refuse, postage price will be as per AusPost courier charges... cheers RON - 0416424446
  14. Ur right JEZ, just tossing up between the SS1PU and TD06SL2-20G 10cm housing, do u have good things to say about the Kando, hope u've tuned it past ur initial 9psi and now sliding all the way up your driveway! I'm just deciding if its possible to cut my bellmouth jjr dump n weld a v band adaptor in there as its a circle trying to mate with a bellmouth oval..
  15. So I just had a blast in my 34 after putting in my YJ coil packs yesterday- just SO happy with the difference it made! My previous miss-fire, farting n power loss has gone completely and car just PULLS so hard n clean all the way to redline, just so crisp n beautiful to drive, fat power n torque everywhere, no missing at all and gained a chunky midrange n total response, yes even a 'only 200rwkw' GTT is keeping us grinning for ages like pubescant teens..chirped tires a few times too while driving n turning gradually.. So if you need coil packs, just GO FOR IT, it makes a huge difference if your originals r shagged..
  16. Thanks, off it stays!
  17. Cheers scott
  18. Oh thanks guys then I guess it is ok to leave it open, in fact it seems like a better idea as you saying the heat kills coilpacks, but what about water/ moisture going in?? And possibly puddling up in the coil pack cavity as well?
  19. Hi im just wondering if i can use WD-40 to clean my iac, I have gone through a tute from another link on how to dismantle n clean it. Anyone used WD-40? Thats what i currently have and cant be stuffed running off to get carby cleaner
  20. Anyone else please?
  21. Hi guys, I just changed my coil packs on my neo motor and just wondering if it is ok to leave the coil packs exposed (not putting back the long black rectangular cover panel), I have seen a lot of engine bays with exposed coil packs but my flatmate thinks there might be risks of water/ moisture getting in from the bonnet edges and splashing up from the road while driving. Are there many of you driving without this cover on and anyone see any probs??? The reason i wana leave it out is for easy quick maintenance swapping out the coils n spark plugs when the need arises.
  22. man that really is waaaay too laggy - waiting till 5k rpm to get full boost, but I guess its got something to do with your engine conversion. why not turn the car back to stock, sell it and buy a proper GT-T and work from there?
  23. Artz, if u dont like my stupid Qs, theres one thing u can do - SHUT THE f**k UP. Your rudeness is not needed, these forums are here to help people to learn and experienced users to provide input if they like, if u find some users asking basic seemingly dumb Qs thats cos they need help and are trying to learn, I cannot be more grateful to a forum like SAU apart from the occassional rude dicks like u, if u dont like it, nobodys asking u to pull out ur butt plug and release garbage here. Thanks but no thanks!!
  24. Kando kit comes with gaskets n hoses on ebay, do u really need the flameproof ones?? Where can i find the dyno graph for a kando making 280-300rwkw on a rb25? Not in the rb25 dyno thread, cannot find one, except Simon's one but thats too overkill for me for what im chasing..
