  1. Anyone else had this problem? Nobody thinks its my stiff suspension and heavy engine in the front = less grip? I must say its very easy to wheelspin in this car, even in the dry straight roads, when coming on boost suddenly..
  2. I did, but even at low rpms 2-3k, it just wouldn't move up at all, was more happy doing a circus spinning act..
  3. I always thought the R34 has a good front-rear weight distribution although not as good as a mid-engine mounted car, so thought how the hell is the weight distribution causing this issue or is it something else..
  4. I did strongly think its my stiff suspension, but my tuner said my suspension is beautiful compared to the really hard race-type suspension that he is used to... Could be that my low rpm torque is a bit much for that slippery steep slope..?? The IS200 also a rear wheel drive, didnt have any issue at all, and niether my other mates Tiida - which would have more traction as its a front-wheel drive with the heavy engine in front?
  5. I have the expensive Bridgestone Potenzers with healthy tread so tyres are not an issue thankfully ...
  6. Dunno mate, bought it like that, that was the only thing in my car that dosent work, thats why its pretty dangerous in the wet, even driving it normally, wheelspins very easily, it does have the 2nd traction control butterfly in the intake though, I think either the unit is fuct or the fuse is blown..Anyways I am pulling a kinda healthy 545Nm torque on the stock turbo, tuned to awesomeness by DVS Jez on SAU
  7. ahaa thanks Jared...more Torque/Power...ahhaa now I feel goood.......ahhhh, hope thats the reason..
  8. Maybe I was revving too much, but still? The lexus is a manual and I do know how to drive haha so thats not the issue, I even thought my car is pulling too much torque at low revs causing the wheelspin, but then a lot of you guys are pulling waaay bigger numbers than me and I've never heard of anyone bring up an issue like this..
  9. So I was exiting out of my mate’s apartment basement car park at Wolli Creek the other day, it has a really steep (30 degree?) and tightly curved sloped driveway which also happened to have a little pool of water at the bottom flat portion of the drive. Now my mate in his stock Lexus IS200 went up this drive as easy as a snake sliding up a fence. Following him, I got like 1-2 car lengths up the drive and couldn’t go further – so much excessive wheelspin and could smell the tyre burning (thought it was the clutch at first).. 3-4 attempts and no luck. I even pulled up the handbrake on the slope, gave it some revs, then dumped the clutch normally, while putting the handbrake down, and still wheelspin at 3,4,5,6k rpms… Got my mate and another guy to sit in the backseat to get better traction and we only JUST managed to crawl up in centimetres, wheelspinning as before, after the second traction we went up the slope easily, just at the bottom curved bit which was also wet.. My R34GTT has quite firm rear Cusco adjustable coilovers and the front end is a noticeable bit lower than the rear – same Cuscos in front. My other mate with his stock Nissan Tiida who lives on the block never had this issue before.. So you can imagine them both ribbing me about how my high performance turbo car couldn’t get up that ridiculous driveway when their shopping trolley rides slide up and down like pros. Anyone got any suggestions as to whats wrong with me not getting traction – hard suspension, front bit lower than rear?? – my tyres are really good – 235/18s, my traction control dosen’t work though, the light in dash is always off.
  10. Sorry to hijack; just dont get this -again a MONSTER torque figure close to 1300Nm, yet I see many skylines with very similar mods making in the 500-600Nm range in the RB25 dyno thread???? Mine made 545Nm and 186rwkw on stock turbo 12psi with supporting mods and I was doubtful of the torque figure as I think it was too high... people with twice as much power have made barely more torque than that, yet there are other people with huge torque figure in the 800-1000Nm range.. anyone care to pour a bit of light on this?
  11. hey Jon, I cannot get that price on the MAA website and also on AAMI website -substituting a 200SX as there's no skyline (couldnt be bothered to ring them), I get $693 from both websites - the MAA website I can list the R34GTT Skyline as an option. Cheapest for me is QBE at $516. How did you get $375? Thats impossible mate, can you please put up your website quote from the insurer here?
  12. Haha im sure you'd rather kill the engine than yourself..! At least then you'll have a genuine excuse to get a fresh RB30
  13. Lobokka 100 cell metal cat on ebay
  14. Hey buddy what condition is the z32 in and coul u please put up pics? Where r u located wanted to inspect turbo aswl
  15. Wish i came across this when i did my fuel pump rewire, its caused enough headaches
  16. What does vct stand for- variable something timing? And if thats something good then how come the 26 which is the ultimate nissan engine (we will keave out the vr38dett for now) dosent have that? Also how will a vg30dett from a 90s 300zx compare to the 25 neo and 26- ive heard they r stronger and with a bit more punch due to the 3000cc but we all know zeds r a b$$tch to work on, maybe thats the reason the 300zx hasnt taken the import scene like the skyline
  17. 5600N is force - Newtons is force only - torque is Newton times meters
  18. So the engine torque would be even more?? Say another 100Nm??
  19. Im loving my neo more than myself, all in all a great motor no doubt, its only mildly modded though, but then again i still want a RB26!! Dont know why, i guess every RB25 owner does... Dont think theres much differences in them
  20. Does anyone know why this is: 'But still dont believe my torque figure 546Nm - 'Simon-S14' (Orange S14) here with a RB25 NEO makes identical torque with almost TWICE as much power as me - 358RWKW?? And 'WASN'T ME' (black R34GTT) also with a RB25NEO makes almost the same power as Simon but with 1000Nm +???? Some funny business going on for sure, sure different dynos give different readings, but not by THAT much..?? These guys' results can be seen on PAGE 33 of the Rb25 Turbo Upgrade thread. '
  21. Thanks Johnny, yeah we found that the reg had a 90deg bent hose connection pipe which was modified, and were left scratching heads for a bit trying to figure out if it was the R34 one..
