  1. Jez, can you ask the dyno shop guy to email me a chart showing the power and torque vs RPM not engine/wheel speed which is what I got. I would like to see what power and torque I made at what rpm which is far more important.. cheers
  2. +++1 for DVS Jez, he is a really top bloke, not only in tuning but other mechanical work too, hopefully we will see a shift away from those overcharging 'give you power numbers only' workshops that 'tune' your car... Anyways I am also happy to now know that my pump, fuel reg and leaning out is not the issue now. As for the afrs leaning out, my exhaust has a perforated exhaust tip where the sensor sits - it could be this messing with the airflow and blowing more air into the afr sensor. But still dont believe my torque figure 546Nm - 'Simon-S14' (Orange S14) here with a RB25 NEO makes identical torque with almost TWICE as much power as me - 358RWKW?? And 'WASN'T ME' (black R34GTT) also with a RB25NEO makes almost the same power as Simon but with 1000Nm +???? Some funny business going on for sure, sure different dynos give different readings, but not by THAT much..?? These guys' results can be seen on PAGE 33 of the Rb25 Turbo Upgrade thread. BUT it feels good to know I have that much torque..hurraah! haha..
  3. Just had car tuned again today on Dyno with DVS JEZ from SAU - the results are just so amazing on the street compared to old tune - just totally different to drive so smooth and super responsive from 2000 all the way to 7000rpm and can feel the turbo kick a lot more now....just luurrrv it!! Torque was an impressive more-than expected 546NM. I was thinking it would be more like 460ish NM.. Power started from a super low 132rwkw (stock r34 maps) onto a kinda okay 186rwkw (dyno sheet coming soon)..was hoping for AT LEAST 200 plus rwkw with current mods, but I think because I have the stock dump (rest of exhaust is 3", power and boost started dropping later in the rev range at 13.5psi.. We checked the rubber intake hose too, it wasnt sucking shut. It was a Mainline Dyno which supposedly reads a lot lower than Dyno Dynamics dynos, thats what I've been told.. Although the power is a bit disappointing the result on the street is much better than I expected, just crisp beautiful and yes, fast. The air/fuel ratios are almost perfectly straight - 11.7-11.8 afrs - Jez is amazing and takes his time to tune it bit by bit across little rpm bands - I would say big difference to those workshops that just give u a power figure.. Couldnt wind the timing up more than 14degrees because power started dropping at this stage --- is my dump the restriction??? Also my 100cell metal cat isnt welded properly - there is a slightly smaller than 3" extension pipe that sits part way INSIDE the 3" cat opening on both sides and then welded to the flange and cat..I think because it was easier for the exhaust shop to weld it this way - didnt think it was a problem then, but now think other wise?? We found there was NOTHING wrong with my fuel pump and regulator, it was the afr gauge giving incorrect readings on the road ONLY because it was picking up atmospheric air plus the exhaust air, thus leaning out the ratios.. Two different gauges did this. But when we added a short length thin pipe to the end of the exhaust with the afr sensor inside, the afrs went perfect-- no dramas at all.. this might help other tuners and gave us a lot of headaches..please take note!
  4. Sarge Rx8 yes i took the f3 and its about an hour to central coast, give him a buzz hes on sau, btw why do u have rx8 as ur sig, u drive one?

  6. Sorry to hear mate, makes me cringe to hear this every time a Skyline is stolen - these lowlifes need to be KILLED slowly friggin a%%holes.. How many of u got an in-car-GPS system which sends a sms to you when the car is moved.. I'm getting one ASAP. Most likely a tow-truck job, these bastards I'm sure wont go to lengths to disable the GPS, they'll just load the car up and flee..
  7. Recommend JEZ AAA++ now for all tuning and also mechanical work.. He's one top bloke and also has good prices! ! Jez, thanks heaps mate, today was the best outcome from all the work we did so far..

  9. Got the r34 reg now thanks to a very nice bloke in sau by the name of johnny, a real top bloke!
  10. I now see what you mean Jez - the stock regs are set at a pressure (unadjustable) and you want to know if the R33 motor might be running at a different fuel pressure requirement to the R34 NEO RB25DET motor... crikey I never thought of that! Please anyone, I'm getting a R33 reg today will it work?
  11. so what happens when u boost it? (untuned) - does it act all weird / jerky and stuf because the afrs are now off??
  12. man r his turbos really that bad?? i was considering getting one at some stage..now I will THINK BEFORE. Thanks for the warning, maybe a Garret is the way to go after all...But quite a few people are commending the guy..so...pics please?? that will help a lot of people in here
  13. awesome stuff, how much did the vid set u back?
  14. Thats what we will do when we take it to the dyno this sat, stupid car causing me headaches lol..hoping its the reg not pump, how do regs die.??
  15. yesterday i filled up and again it did almost 20L/100kms the second time round, ridiculous economy - I would have expected it to drink less as its running lean in the mid-upper rpm band..
  16. haha jez I will leave it to you to check the blood pressure, fuel pressure or whatever.. Hoping your dyno guy will be available the week after to let us use his workshop
  17. Another one for Evo, been in an evo and sti, evo hands down, though the boxer grumble sounds a lot better
  18. so what is the stock 'set' reg pressure, I read somewhere that it is 48psi with varying opinions.. So mine should be 48psi + 12psi boost??
  19. So I got this pic from someone elses post, just need to know if its correct.. where to connect the fuel pressure tester etc..
  20. Josh r u sure that is the reg, I need to check fuel press on mine
  21. aaarggh... hoping its not the pump, its a bit of a pain to replace, gud idea about pinching the outlet, hoping my car doesnt choke from lack of of fuel and blow up! !
  22. thanks bro, let me know, I can pick up, thats very nice of you
  23. Have heard pple sayin to check the afm, but if that was dirty, we would get less clean air into engine per unit of fuel which means its running rich, but its not, its the opp ie, running lean, dont understand this one
