  1. What u guys sayin bout the evo is exactly what i want-boost and speed at the slightest touch of the throttle.. Bloody media n hype everywhere and i end up with the 34, it is a fantastic car in all respects but ahem- i want the evolution now..have driven a stock r32 gtr with full exhaust as well- not impressed at all, felt so like a stock gtst except for off the line pace..hardly any seat-of-the-pants feel at low-mid rpms which is what im after.. Are we goin to see an evolution of evolutions in the performance car community sometime soon??
  2. Man u guys makin me hate my gtt, surely the evolution cant be THAT much better, im comparing the evo against a stock 2door sti that i have driven, the sti was fun driven to redline, but quick?? So and so not impressiveively quick..
  3. Hi all, So I have had my R34GTT (stock turbo, full 3" turbo back exhaust, FMIC, cold air box, 12psi boost controller, Walbro pump, Nistune ecu, coilovers, short shift kit etc) for a year and love it to death. Am reading more and more stuff on how good the EVO is - particularly the harsh 6.5 TME, so...am thinking if I should get an EVO7 5 speed when prices come down a bit... Now before anyone starts flaming, I have sat in an Evo3 and it was quite quick, as well as cheap n nasty, but the A-B get-go would leave even a GT-R of the same mods with some bit if embarassment even though it would be close. The seat-of-the-pants feel in the EVO is more punchy, I have also driven a stock 99 2 door WRX STI and that was nice, the AWD is awesome, but then I would take an evo over an sti any day.. Has anyone in here owned an EVO 6 and up and a Skyline GTT / GTR or even GTS-t??? If so, what are your experiences and comments?? 2 completely different cars I know, I like everything else in the R34GTT (gorgeous looks, rwd, interior, stronger built gearbox, engine, driveline etc) - but then again the similarly modded EVO is performance up another level?? Or not really so - I'm comparing with stage one mods to both cars as above - first paragraph.. Please give feedback -negative and positive - I'm after a sharp n quick STREET car which can shame audi RS4s off the lights etc..now those audis ARE quick.. cheers Ron

  12. Car - R34 RB25DET NEO So I got my turbo -manifold gasket blown sometime back and now have it replaced by Jez aka DVS32R from Central Coast today ( he is on SAU, name DVS32R) and all I can say is WOW, the DIFFERENCE it makes ! ! Jez is so good with his work, when I first went to have a road tune by him a few weeks ago (Nistune) he told me I have a leak in my turbo-manifold gasket from the rattle sound the car was making, and sure enough when we pulled apart the turbo today and got the gasket out, it was blown and one of the 4 nuts on the stud was missing. Replacing that and taking it for a re-tune on the road and...what can I say - RESPONSE everywhere, and smooth as peanut butter, the car just PULLS now to redline so cleanly and quickly - full boost of 12psi on stock turbo at 2500-2600RPM...just brilliant.. Cruising off boost at 2800-3000rpm, a nice little tap on the gas pedal and I see INSTANT max boost easy as, just so excited, feels so much lighter and stronger now.. Thats not to say we had a frustration hour when the a/f ratios leaned out at some point in the tune during boost..that was aaarrrrggghh...tryna figure out what went wrong where, but reloading the old 'good map' and fine tuning that, and we are not far from perfection...absolutely happy with the result, if anyone wants a TUNE or ANY mechanical work on their ride, then I very highly recommend Jez (DVS32R) from central coast - he loves his cars and his work is top notch so are his prices.. Thank you Jez, you made my day today..Brilliant
  13. hey mate, no it dosen't have the sock and loom, they are used on my aftermarket pump, you dont really need a sock if your pump is mounted quite low in the tank, (theres a thread here where a Bosch pump is installed in a skyline without the sock) although it is recommended to have one, and the loom, I'm sure you can use the stock one if it has the same adaptor - or just solder the wires together, its easy as. cheers Ron
