  1. lol - to think a thing like that can be such a problem to a/f ratios etc
  2. a 50c metal plate costing $1000 to discover and fix...crazy did someone put that there as a gasket, btw, is there a gasket supposed to be where it was?
  3. and the bosch 044s for sale on ebay - doesnt say external or internal??
  4. just been reading other threads on walbros vs bosch, and man, theres so much mixed ideas out there - a fair amount of pple seem to hate walbros and have had them fail / not flowing enough etc - not sure if for real or just haters lol
  5. Hey Josh, thanks a lot man, you've been very helpful.., now I got a fair idea about pumps etc..
  6. cheers guys, will do, heard its hard to slide and slot the cradle back PROPERLY in the tank though after installing.. what voltage would it be getting without rewiring?
  7. where can i get those sirens?? maybe swap my alarm siren for that one..is it inside ur car, where?? lol. I have a heavy steering lock also.. heard of the kill switch but dunno how it works, isnt it the immobiliser - ie that 'kills' the engine.
  8. nice ride, does it generally take THIS long to sell a skyline? I've seen ones sitting on carsales for months on end..
  9. someone buy this lol - $150 ono
  10. Walbro is mine then. 2 wires. They come with the pump dont they, so all u gotta do is hook them to the pump terminals and then plug them to the plastic lid connector, correct? Is that all? So why does everyone still use the stock wiring and socks when these r supplied with the walbros?
  11. yes dont really understand that one
  12. how does a blocked bov cause it to run lean - bov is where the return air goes when u release the throttle isn't it? If thats blocked, the air will back track onto the turbo, causing it to stop quick? Dunno where the leaning issue comes in here - leaning is basically too much air (boost) and not enough fuel
  13. So u sayin the clever thieves are likely to carry a GPS scrambler or jammer??? What else can u do against those bastards and lowlifes - alarm, immobiliser, insurance, what about a kill switch?
  14. Just remembered, did u guys have to get a new pump clamp holder / bracket mount to hold the pump in the existing stock cradle??
  15. thanks pat I have seen that before - they didnt rewire that one, just the terminals to the pump
  16. Why are people using the stock sock and wiring when walbro pumps come with these items NEW? and lol at reversing the polarities.. Hoping I wont have to rewire - after the tune I'm hopin to reach a best of 220rwkw - after a hiflow and z32 (around end of year/next year ) maybe 260rwkw, and final step are the injectors - then hopin for 280-300rwkw.. So hope I dont have to rewire for now.. Do the Bosch 040 users have to rewire as well for this power goal??
  17. no thanks, pumps are one of those things u buy brand new, I'm set on a Walbro GSS342, but peoples' different opinions are making me hesitate lol.. Which twin walbros are u after, has your tomei run out of flow? For those rewiring - is it from the battery + terminal to the pump??
  18. ok ok so do the Bosch 040s require re-wiring as well like the Walbros, once u go over a certain power level/flow rate... faark so hard to decide ha ha.. 280-300rwkw max goal - no nismo or tomeis please, just one simple reasonable quality internal pump....
  19. And Hamish, what does a 325rwkw GTS-T FEEL like on the road - compared to a baby 200rwkw?? Shits on pretty much everything? Hows the response from jab on the throttle etc..
  20. Cheers Dan, my ultimate goal is 300rwkw - thats when I get the remaining 3 items - injectors, turbo and Z32, keep telling myself I wont waste money on these, but knowing myself, I know I will, lol..! ! So I guess the Walbro is not so bad - GAS Motorsport in Wetherill Park sell them (Walbro GSS342) for $115 -I guess thats a good price for a decent item. So it WILL support 300rwkw wont it? And you said it for me - dont see the point in spending $600 odd for a bloody fuel pump, should be ok to fit - I did my FMIC, spark plugs, oil change and oil + fuel filters myself. Read the DIY on the Bosch 040 - seems the hard bit is putting the assembly properly back down the tank in the correct position in slot..
  21. man seems like all these pumps have their own little issues..!
  22. Heard about the rewiring a lot, from where to where do I need to rewire - sounds like another pain in the a.. I think the walbros come with the short bits of wiring from pump to top of assemply plastic cylinder thingy.. Not keen on rewiring other bits of the car mate!
  23. thinking if its possible my injectors are clogged or something..??
  24. Josh ur a top bloke..Thanks!
