RB25DET turbocharger "stock" a/r.63 or "oversized" .70?
KiwiRS4T replied to JC71's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cheap turbos don't last. For a decent upgrade that will bolt in see Hypergear. If you want to make more than 300kw you will need as a minimum a Nistune chip, better AFM , injectors and fuel pump .. so a few thousands of dollars rather than a few hundred. -
Rb30/25 Greddy Style Intake
KiwiRS4T replied to Chev R's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have used the Greddy copy. They were NZ$300 at the time. . You need to check for pinholes and the mating face for truth. Also get an adapter so you can use your stock T/B. It worked OK but if I were building another RB30 I wouldn't bother. -
RB26 intake manifold on RB20
KiwiRS4T replied to Hcr32typem's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
People don't just knock on the kit - they say "don't do it". Look forward to your report when you have it all up and running. -
Thinking about buying a gtst far away
KiwiRS4T replied to Anonymous's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Doubt the mileage. Don't hand over any money til you get there. Better to waste an air fare than $18k -
I would guess not. To be sure find such a wheel and trial fit it OR look at the wheels on your car check the width and offset and make the calculations to see where they would end up. Below my C34 with 18 x 8 +30

Does your car have a normal CAS or some other kind of sensor? Should have 4 wires like so: R34 CAS pin 1 = earth pin 2 = power pin 3 = 1 deg pin 4 = 120 deg R33 Cas pin 1 = 120 pin 2 = 1 pin 3 = power pin 4 = earth

How To Tell Between Rb25Det And Rb25Det Neo?
KiwiRS4T replied to xntrq's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
There were a few "transitional" engines that had the Hitachi CAS but were not Neo engines. My theory is that you can tell by the ECU plug. The R33 is slim and has two rows of pins. The R34 (Neo) has 3/4 rows of pins. I used to know the colours of the plugs but maybe someone else can tell you. -
So far as I know K Sport and D2 are made by the same factory. If appearance is the main criterion then 6 or 8 pistons are all the same. Theoretically an 8 piston set up will apply pressure more evenly to the pad.

Looking for alarm and immobiliser suggestions
KiwiRS4T replied to Steem's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
People see a car on the back of a tow truck with its horn going nuts they don't even blink - just assume its been illegally parked. -
2004 M35 Stagea Front Brakes Grinding
KiwiRS4T replied to devoyage's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Did your new pads come with a chamfer on the leading edge? If not put one on and then as suggested bed them in (google for instructions if not sure). -
^^^what he said. I put GTT brakes on my C34 Stagea (which would be heavier than your Skyline) and with better pads, brake fluid , braided brake lines and a MC stopper they were more than adequate on the street. If your brakes are causing your ABS to kick in on a hard stop then bigger brakes won't stop you any better. On the other hand if you are planning to do lap after lap on the track then you will want something better which is why I went to 330mm D2s.

Don't know why you are posting here as you have already decided to buy some cheap coils because "from what you have been told" Splitfires are not good enough. Good luck.

I f**ked up - cut power cable running to battery too short
KiwiRS4T replied to IM-32-FK's topic in General Maintenance
You'll have to buy some more and join it - with solder. -
They look to be too cheap to be real. I have not heard any thing bad about splitfires - have used them myself although i guess you can always have a failure.

Mustang GT wheels on V35 coupe
KiwiRS4T replied to Jhare413's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
No. The only thing they have in common is the PCD at 5 X 114.3 The Mustang has a bigger centre bore which wouldn't be a problem if you can find some suitable hubcentric wheel rings but the stock Nissan studs are too small. And the Mustang wheels are rather ugly in my opinion. -
GTR R32 Build
KiwiRS4T replied to oktaytrz's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Yep keep the stock cams with adjustable gears. -
or just post up the number on your old one. Why are you even looking at R33 or R32? Have you tried to get an R34 replacement?

R33 GTR vibrations issue over 160km/h
KiwiRS4T replied to Tomak's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I guess you have removed all the front drive components. I would have a good look at the parts you put in to replace them. You don't want a wheel falling off at 250km/hr ...especially on a public road. -
I can't confirm it but I just googled the pics and they look the same. If there is any difference in the mounting tabs it should be easy to adapt them.
-
Your compressions are quite low but I'm guessing it was built that way. The noise sounds a bit of a worry . Were you able to narrow down the source to high up (valve gear) or lower down in the block? Is your VCT working OK?
-
The boys at the local kindergarten? Can they tell you how it is different (and I can tell you that as GTSBoy says its SFA) and what difference it will make?

R34 ECUs are about $100 - $200 on ebay.

Depends on how deep the hollows - there is a special spray on stuff you can apply locally. Have done some painting but I'm no expert ...have a look at the pros on YouTube. Also you can get free advice from the auto paint shops.
