  1. LOL couldn't get insurance?
  2. Oh, ok. Good point.
  3. That's why I want the ones that are easily removed by the special removal tool (which only cops/manufacturers have access to apparently), like the ones the cops were giving out for free last year.
  4. OK, might have a look at Bunnings first before I rock up at a cop station in the skyline lol.
  5. Sorry guys, guilty as charged. Was bored... off day from work today.
  6. Might have been prostrating himself in front of the automotive god
  7. http://www.theage.com.au/national/best-man...90729-e1l0.html "He said if there was penetration it was accidental and he asked what led the man to ‘‘place himself in proximity to the dildo’’, which he described as ‘‘arguably statuesque’’." Lol, accidental penetration? The sentence just gets funnier from there.
  8. How do you remove them? There must be a special tool? I'd rather get them from Vic Police rather than interstate on eBay as I can be certain the removal tool will be available.
  9. Oops haha. I got thrown by the tail lights.
  10. Unless you are a known child sex offender, usually people smash your windows to get at something inside. The car cover I guess not only prevents people seeing what's inside, it also makes it hard to steal what's inside. After smashing the window thieves need to cut a hole in the cover, etc. Most casual car thieves want to be in and out as quickly as possible while your alarm is wailing. I think it's a good deterrant when they have to go to the extra trouble to find most likely an empty car.
  11. Hi guys, my mate just bought some personalised plates, but as he doesn't have a garage, has to park his car outside. I am also looking into getting custom plates. I had a bad experience 2 years ago with people stealing my plates outside and then, I guess, using it for petrol station theft (this was in the bad old days of $1.60/L prices). It wasn't customised, so I ordered new standard plates,. If it was personalise plates, could you re-order the same ones or would it have to be a different combo? I would be gutted if I lost my combo. I was looking around at ways to deter licence plate theft and I stumbled on this: http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...ArticleID=57071 I totally didn't know about this when it was on. Does anyone know if this service is still available anywhere? Had a look at eBay without much success. Only listing I could find was this: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/8-x-ONE-WAY-NUMBER-...bayphotohosting I don't understand how they can be one-way screws when they are screwed in with any normal screwdriver, look like normal screws, and apparently don't need a specialised tool to unscrew. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  12. Good idea. Looks like those parachute arrays for drag cars lol. Where did you buy it from? If it's expensive, I think I would still prefer the cable-lock method as it prevents people lifting the cover up and smashing your windows to get stuff inside.
  13. From the recent thefts/scratches on some SAU cars parked out in the driveway/street, I was thinking what I could do to protect my car. Even though my car's usually garaged sometimes I have no choice but to park in public, unsheltered areas when on holidays for a few days eg., snowfields. I stumbled across these car covers that have grommets in the bottom so you can loop a steel cable through and lock it. Not only do they protect your car from the elements, but also act as a deterrant to the casual thief/douchebag who keys for fun, and also means that your expensive car cover won't be stolen. Sure they won't protect against someone who is determined to damage your car or has bolt-cutters, but it helps. The best I found was from a UK site with car covers tailored to our Skylines, but the version which somes with locking kit is an insane 139 pounds ($280 AUD) before delivery. http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/produc...=288&page=1 No other site has fitted covers for the R32-34s as I guess they weren't really imported much into those countries. The cheapest I found was from a US site on eBay. I guess our cars are the XL size. Would be about $100 AUD including delivery. Has anyone bought any of these covers are has heard anything about them??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...RK%3AMEWAX%3AIT Cheers.
  14. Sorry, my knowledge of classic cars = fail. What exactly is it? A mustang of some sort, yeah?
  15. http://www.themotorreport.com.au/38409/201...talia-revealed/ The pics came out a couple of days ago... What do you guys think? Of course the mechanicals are better, but from a style point of view, I actually prefer the look of the "old" F430. It looked a lot more proportionate. The 458 has these massive rear hinduarters which make the rear wheels look tiny and the car probably 10-15 cm too long. Confirmed for Australia mid-next year I believe, around the 500-600k AUD mark.
  16. D'oh! Was thinking I was in a time machine, re-reading "new" posts from Monday until I saw the server downtime announcement. Are these missing posts going to be uploaded or will they be missing forever? Nooooo my 20 posts are gone.... Maybe it's a sign for me to stop spending so much time on SAU
  17. Hi, just wondering if anyone knew what size (now that that sizes are corrected) would fit me - around 177 cm (5'9) and 75 kg. Hoping lots of other SAU'ers are those dimensions and have bought a hoodie to share their experience... Oh, BTW, what material are they made of? Can you put them in the washing machine? Thanks.
  18. You say that now.... Sounds like scraping the bottom of the barrel but if you bump into one of those cops who hasn't had much experience and doesn't fully know the extent of his legal boundaries with other people's property it might work. Best case scenario would be it allows you to avoid the on-spot defect fine, but I guess they can just send you an EPA letter later.

    Wheel Fail

Yikes the first pic was scary... props to photography for the impeccable timing/pure luck on the shot. At first glance I thought these were R34 GTR stockies lol.
  20. Clean black R33 GTS-T? parked on Church Rd, Richmond around 1:30 pm. Silver R32 GTS-T around City Rd, South Melb 3:30 pm.
  21. "gentleman escort"
  22. I bet once you get your skyline you won't be doing that. Having it broken into a few times at the station will teach you to drive all the way or not at all. Stations are a hotspot for thieves, and they have the security of knowing that they aren't going to be disturbed by the owner until the next train comes...
  23. Burgundy R33 - white guy and chick, on Mt Alexander Rd around 11:30 am. White R33 driven by spec'd azn guy on Vic Pde around 5:30 pm. Damn there are just too many R33's. I think I see about 10X more R33s than R32s and R34s put together.
  24. How does having a personal driver make the trip faster? Unless you mean you can do stuff while he drives.
  25. Very clean car. It's obvious he takes good care of it.
