  2. Has anyone ever used the "I have lockable bonnet pins and I lost the keys to them today" excuse?
  3. Nice one. Predictable crevasse separating the acceleration. I don't believe the Veyron is as good on the track as expected though (maybe due to its 2+ ton laden weight - I was like OMGWTF when I saw the scales), and fair enough, it wasn't really designed to be anything more than a 2mil drag car/luxury grand tourer. Can't remember exact details, but I think Veyron lapped ring in 7:40 - but the driver may have been scared to push it 100% and lose his job.... If I had the choice I'd still take the R35 as a track car and use the other 90% of the money to buy an F430 convertible as my daily and a nice house The video kinda reminded me of vintage top gear: R33 GTR vs McLaren F1
  4. White 4-door R34 GT with 2 occupants north-bound on Whitehall St, Footscray around 3 pm. White 4-door R32 with unkown bodykit and rims, with WA plates in Nth Williamstown around 5 pm.
  5. Dude, fights have been picked over less than the colour of someone's skin, let alone their dissimilar culture, values, upbringing, etc. Race is indeed a causative factor. It is part of human nature to try to categorise ourselves into a "them and us" paradigm, subconsciously sometimes - and inevitably conflict will arise (and has arisen) with nationality, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs all through human history and will continue into the future with wars between human-inhabited planets. It is part of biopsychosocial evolution to protect our clan and fight others, different to ourselves, as these were the primates who survived. LOL
  6. LOL local plumbing supplier
  7. Ok, I'll take your word for it.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFoP9n2go1k Yikes. Thankfully no-one died. I think everyone was travelling so close to each other they sort of had a mass crumple zone effect which saved all the occupants lol.
  9. It may be harder than it looks or I give credit for, but it really shouldn't require that much experience/dexterity. We are talking about the same machine right? The one where you secure the original and a blank key on a cutting device, and you move it so that it follows the grooves of the original key while it cuts the same grooves on the new key. The pimply teenager behind the counter at the key-cutting place near Target in Chinatown certainly didn't look like he had any decent skills/experience when he cut my key....
  10. Racepace Motorsport 9/6 Holloway Drive, Bayswater Ph: (03) 9762 9421 http://www.racepacemotorsport.com/ If you work in Bayswater and own a Skyline and need work done.... it's a no-brainer. People come from all over Victoria (and some even interstate) for Ben to work his magic. He works almost exclusively on Skylines so knows them inside out. Just give him a call and tee up a time.
  11. 3 nice convertibles within a few secs of each other city-bound on Melbourne Rd, Newport around 4:30 pm: White Maserati GT, black Jag XKR and black BM Z4 M.
  12. Silver R34 4-door city-bound on Dynon Rd, 4 pm Silver R34 in F'cray around 4:15 pm. Was too far away to see clearly, but I think had some kind of black decals on the rear. Guy driver and girl passenger.
  13. That's usually true. Have you seen the process most places use to cut keys? A 5-year old could do it on the automatic machine and it would take only 5 seconds. If the person does it quickly and sloppily so that the teeth don't perfectly match, a lot of times it doesn't fit into the lock, or even worse, gets stuck in the lock, as happened to me before
  14. Non-aussie citizens who are convicted of a crime should be automatically deported back home, regardless of their refugee status. You come to Australia, you treat us with respect or you go home.
  15. That may be a skewed comparison though... think about it. Most of the street violence... is it ethnic vs ethnic or ethnic vs "aussie"?
  16. Silver R33 GTR with black plates [GTRXXX] driven by darker-skinned brother in a baseball cap in city around lunchtime. Silver R33 GTR with standard plates in IKEA carpark around 4 pm.
  17. I think the problem is the cops don't give a shit, and if it were me, even if I got all the money back from insurance, I would still be pissed that I had to waste so much time and angst, and that my plans had gone to crap. I'd still want to know who the bastard who took the stuff was, so he could be brought to justice, or to prevent it happening again.
  18. +1 especially when you consider that in Japan (yes, the mecca where all our cars came from) most "skylines" are like, 4-door family cars. When I went there a few years ago and I told my friend I drove a sportscar - a Nissan Skyline, she laughed at me (didn't know the meaning of GTR).
  19. Glad to hear it
  20. Red HSV R8 Tourer with black plates [R8TOUR] trailing me off Dynon Rd. Wanted to race me at the lights next to BP Whitehall. I think this is the car that some motor mag used to do the R8 tourer review. Absolutely love that car - if only it came with as much cargo space as a Stagea.... I'm pretty sure I saw a silver Walkinshaw supercharged HSV Clubbie R8 last week in the city (or a good imitation). Had the bonnet scoops and what sounded like a supercharger whine. For those who don't know what this is, google it. It blows the W427 out of the water, is done by reputable HSV-affiliated WP, and costs <100k. The only reason you would buy a W427 over this is as a collector's item, but seriously, I don't think it's worth 50k more (or will ever be in the future). My next family car will be an R8 tourer with the WP treatment Goodbye RS6!
  21. No, she wasn't. LOL have you ever noticed whenever a sentence starts with certain words/phrases it frames the rest of the sentence a particular way...eg., "Dirk Diggler" The first time I glanced at your sentence I subconsciously read: Dirk Diggler turning onto james' c0ck drive in and melted I don't even know what it means, but it sure as hell sounded dirty...
  22. Seriously, tougher penalties and zero tolerance are the go. Sure it's easy to say it's the parent's problem, they need re-education, or the perps need rehabilitation. No, f**k that. Screw fining people hundreds of bucks for having 1 click too many on your handbrake FFS - VicPol and The State Govt need to have a good long look at themselves and put the bleeding hearts brigade into perspective. They will always try to find avenues for revenue - why not use it for public good for a change? Hit someone or somehow involved in street violence)? $10,000 fine (can't pay up? - go to prison and work it off - see below) Hit someone and hospitalized them? Prison for 5 years. (20 if permanent damage) Killed someone? Prison for life. Zero-tolerance worked in NY (was the most dangerous place to live and now the crime rate is much less than Melbourne's). I'm not sure about now, but years ago in Germany and some South American countries the zero-tolerance and heavy fines (eg., automatic thousands of dollars for being INVOLVED in a street fight, irrespective of who started it) make people EXTREMELY polite to each other, even when pissed. No-one wants to get into a fight and lose their life savings on the spot. The cops/courts don't even ask. It's an automatic fine, regardless of details. Another points is here every douchebag in prison has a warm place to stay at night and no need to worry about adequate food and water, and don't have to lift a finger to get it. That's more than what a lot of homeless people and kids can say. I remember a news report a few years ago saying each prisoner costs the taxpayers about $70k/year. That's more than most people earn, for Christ' sakes. Everyone in jail should friggen have to work their ass off to get their ration of food for the day. Just give them the jobs like some assembly line work that doesn't require sharp objects. They won't get paid except with gruel. Don't want to work, f**ker? Starve, mofo. They don't become a drain on society, but can safely contribute back something. For most it will be the first time in their lives they have ever worked, and that may bring its own benefits to the prisoners. The satisfaction of working hard for something in return may just change some of them a little for the better. For those in the community that are just lazy bums, it may deter them from doing crime and having to work in prison. Win-Win.
  23. Yeah, Europe's hotspots are teh shit! I saw a Porsche club drive past with 15 cars worth together about $8mil in Switzerland last year.
  24. Black R35 GTR Westbound on Vic Pde, East Melb around 7:50 am. R33 GTS-T? [iMAQT-1] driven by girl near Footscray at around 6:15 pm. Seen this one a few times.
  25. Saw [sTAGEA] few days ago - can't remember where, but think it was on Vic St.
