F*ck, that's why I never park at train stations. Hope the cops recover your car.

Ummm. ... the black one in the pic is the Odyssey car batter. The cream one is the one he is selling. But I take your point.

Hmm... ok Not sure WTH wrxhoon is selling then, because I am sure this is identical. My sound system doesn't need to run while the engine is off, and I don't power a fridge either with my battery. To save money shouldn't I just get a cranking battery like a red-top, instead of a crank/deep cycle hybrid like the yellowtop? And does anyone know which optima models fit into an R34 GTR without having to modify anything? Thanks heaps

Hey guys For those of you like me who have the battery in the boot apparently we need sealed batteries or ones with the vents. wrxhoon has been selling some from sydney in the group buy section for a few years. The code for the battery is SB1692 as you can see from his photos. I can't be assed organising my own group buy, as it means I have to go to the PO and post batteries around Melbourne, as well as dealing with crappy warranty issues as they come up. I found an online shop based in Melb with the same battery that is cheaper than the $220 delivered wrxhoon is advertising. The shop is Soanar Ecotech SB1692., and it's basically about $130-157 delivered depending on whether you buy 1, 3 or 5. I am not sabotaging wrxhoon, nor am I promoting this seller. However, after I found the site when looking for a Vic distributor, I felt I needed to let everyone know about the better deal. I find it ridiculous that I have to pay $150 at Supercheap Auto to get a home-brand non-sealed heavy-as shit battery with lower amps. I emailed the Soanar guy and he said it comes with 12 month warranty. Has anyone had any experience with Soanar Ecotech? The specs are BATT SLA 12V 40AH 40 Amp Hour 12 Volt Size: 197 (L) x 166 (W) x 170 (H) mm Charge current: 4A for 10 to 14 hours Discharge Current: 2A for 20 hours Capacity: 20hr rate: (2A) 40.0AH 10hr rate: (3.8A) 38.0AH 5 hr rate: (6.8A) 34.0AH 1 hr rate: (24A) 24.0AH Int resistance - fully charged: 10m. Constant Voltage Charge Initial Charging current: < 12A Cycle: Voltage: 14.40V ~ 15.00V @ 20°C Temp coefficient: -30mV/ °C Standby: Voltage: 13.50 ~ 13.80V @ 20°C Temp Coefficient: -20mV/ °C Weight: 14.0kg

Couple of questions please: 1. Mods needed to make it fit into your R34 GTR. Is it just the battery cover? Did you have to extend the battery cables eg., +ve from fuse-box, or change the battery tray, etc? Also, did you have to remove the entire back wall of the boot to install it, or just the strut brace? 2. How many years warranty does it come with, and if something goes wrong, how does warranty work assuming there are no Victorian resellers? Thanks.

Optimas are like $300

Battery Goes Flat After A Few Days Of Not Driving.
Phatboy replied to mdang's topic in General Maintenance
Yeah, my R34 GTR battery gets drained as well in about a week. I have a full alarm though, and it is a lightweight small battery, so probably expected. -
How much is your excess? Errr... can't u just use the suction pads/paintless dent removal to get the roof dents out?
-
OK cool thanks for the replies. I will try that.

Just wondering if anyone has roof leaks and who they turned to (eg., if they live in a house still under builder's warranty). I guess it's different issue if its a long-term leak vs one that just came during the freak storm. My builder is trying to handball to my insurance, but I don't think insurance will cover pre-existing building defects that allow rain in. I think it should be the builder's responsibility for not sealing the roof properly. What's the process for escalation? Is it Consumer Affairs/Building Commission 1st then VCAT if no luck? Thanks. I really appreciate any people with experience in this area.

Damn! Pay me 59k and I'll get all the dents out! I dunno how yet, but for a year's salary I sure as hell will get it done!

If you're ever the victim of a hit and run, just remember their plates and get 1 witness. Comprehensive insurance should cover the rest. And great work Graeme

Damn... couldn't make this. What were the winning kw's in the end? -
How about... I would love to but I am afraid of stacking my only decent car with no track insurance in 1 second and have to work 2 years and survive on instant noodles and pushbiking to work to replace it? Well, I guess the "too expensive" box will have to do.

Yeah.. keep walking past Ant's Bistro and turn to your right just before you hit the end of the alleyway.

Can't find the article now, but the Vicpol commisioner was saying that cops know all about Trapster, and that they would be able to put in false notifications or remove real notifications anonymously. Might be the reason why there are so many notifications? I know you need a mobile number but I am sure Vicpol easily have hundreds of dummy numbers used for investigation purposes.

Hey. have any of you received any email or mobile phone spam after registering?

Just the other day this Sudanese (I think) guy in Footscray, for no reason, just throws a bottle high in the air and it smashes a BMW 3 series's front bumper on the road. The asian chick driving was too scared to stop and argue, so she just drove off. Felt really sorry for her. There's her $500 excess gone cuz of some dipshit's deliberate split second decision. The guy didn't give a shit - he was drunk as hell. I would've given him an earful, but thought, f*ck it, it's Footscray, what do you expect. Like pissing in the wind. Plus he had about 5 other Sudanese guys around him. I've lived in the Western suburbs most of my life, but it is getting awful in places like Footscray. Every time I go there there's some drama on the streets, like bogan white trash swearing at each other, drug deals going down in broad daylight at the station, etc. The one thing I don't see often is Asian gangs, which is surprising and lucky. I'm sure they exist, but nowhere near the scale of say, in Sydney.

Self-explanatory. Pretty affordable after you sell the vodka that it comes with, as well as the gold and diamonds, I guess. Not sure if there's a market out there for second-hand whale foreskin though I don't even want to know how they sourced something like that. Out in the pacific ocean I hope there aren't a herd of circumcised sperm whales... $2mil Bullet Proof SUV

What's the deal with so many tuning shops being in Bayswater? I think there are like 8 places all within 500 m of each other. Racepace, Techsport, MPC, Nizpro, A to Z Tuning, RA Chapman, Dynomotive, Advanced Engine Management. Not to mention the 101 parts/support shops in the neighbourhood. Maybe they designed those few blocks with car tuning in mind, and everyone just congregated there to save money on transport. If it weren't so friggin far away I would move there. It'd be awesome knowing that whatever car I will ever own in my life, I can be pretty sure one of those guys within walking distance knows how to tune it with parts available next door, and tune it well
