  1. Depending on where you look you will find many different 'stock quater mile times'. They simply vary so much, but from looking at a number of different sites, what I have below seems about right to me. Generally speaking though, the 300zx is usually low 14's high 13's, with the r33 getting low to mid 14's. The 180 generally gets mid 14's and both the s14 and s15 usually get about mid to high 14's. ‘About the only thing that you could say is "better" about some is that the lighter ones (180SX, Silvia) will get more bang per buck from performance mods, because of lesser weight. The 300ZX being the heaviest obviously gets the least value from its mods, with the Skylines somewhere in the middle’ Yes, this is true but you are not factoring in engine size. Generally speaking a 2.5lt engine will produce more power per mod than a 2.0lt. So even though 300zx, skylines etc. are heavier than s13’s they would produce more power per mod and to an extent that would balance out the weight difference. The lighter car might still have the advantage, but it is more complicated than just weight… Even if an s13 does respond better to mods than a 300zx, if you go mod for mod, it will take a lot of money for the s13 to catch the 300zx. So yeah, it may have better potential if you want to spend a lot of money, but most people do not modify their cars to those extremes. If you just go with the normal basic bolt ons the 300zx will remain faster. Also, of course a 200sx is going to be more reliable than a r32. Think about it… a basically brand new car vs a car that will be reaching its 15th birthday soon. No matter how well the gtr was made, 10-15 years of thrashing will have a very large effect on a car.
  2. Why do you care so much what other people do to their cars? Lets pretend these people are trying to look cool and impress people… so what, who cares? Sure it might be a little silly but why does it annoy you so much? I sense a little bit of an inferiority complex here… I don’t particularly like bovs but I don’t really dislike them either. Each to their own I guess…. Bov’s do serve a purpose though… why else do you think so cars come with them stock?
  3. s13 silvia's only had 153 kw. The s14 jspec had about 164 though. I guess that is where you are getting confused? i'm not saying the times that are posted are wrong, but since the net is a very unreliable source of information, I will post the other times that are also floating around. s13 = 14.5 (this is the most common figure that I have found) r33 = 14.37 (also a fairly common figure but not sure about its accuracy) r32 = 15.1 (this seems a bit high, but I donno)
  4. The jap spec s14 200sx has 220 hp... I assume that is where they got the power figure from. The s13 silvia has exactly the same power as a s13 180sx. The 180sx is slightly heavier (only slightly) but has a better weight distribution. The weight difference is only small and not very noticeable though.
  5. You guys make me laugh. I love all the comments about the mx6 guys thinking their cars are the greatest… looked in the mirror lately? Why in the world is it so hard to believe an mx6 can beat a skyline? Yes, skylines will beat an mx6 stock for stock but this car was modded and put down a 14.8 ¼. Now a car that runs a 14.8 ¼ can beat an r32 on the street. There are many things that factor into a race, and the faster car does not necessarily always win. It is very possible that the mx6 beat a gtst skyline. Oh wait a minute; I guess I forgot that skylines are invincible… Sure some things said in the post were a little silly but so are a lot of the things you guys have said. A number of people here need to do a bit of growing up.
  6. I knew I was missing something. Yeah makes perfect sence now. Go the rb's!
  7. pentae, the two cars do not have the same engine. r33's have rb25s, not rb20's. I'm a little confused here... can somebody explain why you would swap out a perfectly good engine and replace it with an rb20 to gain what is it 10 kw? I understand if your engine blows or something, but couldn't the money that it would cost to do the swap be better spent? Or am i missing something?
  8. Yeah, some cops are racist but only some. You should not group them all into that category because there are a lot of nice ones out there. Aren't you just as bad as those racist cops if you hate all police because a couple are dicks? The racist cops deserve all they get though… bastards! By the way, racism is a two way street. From my experience, you get as many racist Asian people as what you do Aussies. It is all bullshit though… can’t we all just get along?
  9. Prelude does a low 15 1/4... Not to bad but nothing to brag about. They are a great car to drive though. Very smooth.
