Ian, I see you have studied the manifold so well I am impressed . I just wanted to add one thing that John said, when the air flows through the pipes the maximum velocity is at the center of the pipe diameter and this is what you are ment to use to turn the turbine. The outer side of the pipe he said is the wetted flow or dead flow that we can waste it off. Once you achieve your desired boost waste it off, the manifold will waste alot more then anyother. Also if you would like some good reading material I have the SAE Spark ignition Engine Technology Collection - 6000 pages Can run a copy for you. -

This will be driven everyday ,drags and will race it where i can. The design will and certianly decrease turbo lag by more then you have stated as i have said no turbo lag. John is still trying to work out how to not overboost at low rpm, he as said a plunger system will help i wont go to much into as i dont know much myself, he said Indy cars use it with a throttle body infront of the turbo and another one down stream in the plenum. -

Adam, So tell me is a Ebay $300 manifold better then a HKS? And your answer would be no, so there for John's Manifold will be better then anything on the market as this manifold design is for quick spool maintain high boost flow air with minimal disturbance. Have you ever asked how much it costs to make a manifold for F1 or even a rally car i am sure they would never disclose it , well i have and John's ability is at F1 and rally spec. When i decided to build this motor i wanted as many bolt on parts as possible, The intake manifold John wanted to make one as he found the factory intake manifold has a mistake in the last runner flows 16% more air then the others. He at the end settled with the Nismo intake manifold as he wanted me to move the brake and clutch booster and i told him i do not want to go to that extent as this motor was going in my 2002 R34 V-spec II NUR, but later things changed. He tested the Nismo manifold and said this was ok to use. Even the cooler he wanted to make i bought the ARC cooler and showed him and he loved it said you have saved your self some money as i would of charged alot more. You have to understand John used to make Scientific Equipement for me to a ASTM standard he never let me down. This build is something people can copy and understand what the RB26 really needs. He wants it so ti responds like a WRX sti with top end. Have it tuned with leaner mixtures and usable and drivable power for street drag and circuit. We are just trying to pick up efficiency from everywhere to achieve the most efficent build. -

Mike, John had a look at the HKS manifold found many mistakes incorrect pipe size incorrect pipe diameter incorrect wasgate design incorrect merg to his acceptance. Stated by John " a car that has TURBO LAG is a BAD design" also you have to understand, the Manifold and the motor build will work hand in hand. John's Tolerance and allowance are 100000000000000% finer then any company out there. Have a read about John Skola and his builds search under "Skola developments". If you like Mike i can give you a call and tell you in full detail as much as i know about the build. PM me your number or call me 0414959914 and ill give you the answer about Mark Jacobson's drag car. -

Turbo's to me seem like they are limited at 17PSI unless i am entering the wrong data, I will be showing John tomorrow will have some feedback about it. Have you used these turbo's if so let me know in what application -

Before i answering your question i need you to state what reputable manifold are you comparing it to? as i have not come across one that would perform in a manner that john whats it too. You can compare it that way if you like about the money spent i think you dont know much about the R&D involved when making a one off design! The cost of material was not cheap as the whole manifold is constructed in 321 stainless. More than happy to answer any questions regardig the build. Thank you Bobby -

Most of the F1 turbos were made by garrett and they were kept a secret for a long time. Housing were made from inconel and a very thin casting. I will look into the borg warner as i have mentioned, remember i bought that turbo 4.5 years ago. -

Yes it was an old setup now its alot better then the Purple 48mm carbs lol I just had a look at the borg waner website will show john the turbo's. What want you to do is find me F1 turbo cause you wont find one as they have all been destroyed for a reason so onw would benefit. I know its 22 year technology but its still the best turbo chargers around according what john has said. I agree with you with the V-cam setup i can suggest it to him again will see what john has to say again. -

Below is the pic of the ski. Since i have owned it , i have repainted it from its ugly paint work. And i have had the motor rebuilt with more usable power, used to have huge 48mm carbs now its got 38mm, not as high comp so i can run normal fuel as before i could only run it on avgas. Also has alot of other work done to it. I have spoken to John about runnig the V-cam he said you dont need to as it is a stroker will give you power over the range and with the correct cam selection and the right squish it will be responsive down low. Also i know using a V-cam is limited on cam choice. If you think i should use a borg warner turbo ok do they supply compressor maps? If not then we cannot use it. The turbonetic turbo we have is a high pressure ratio turbo same as what they used in F1. Also can you tell me the advantages of a borg warner turbo over the one we are using. I can post a compressure map for this turbo. -

Good to see someone who has explained the 2 stroke theory . I would love for you to see this ski its Tod hunters old ski yami waveblaster with all the goodies you can think off. I am extremly curious on where you disagree on johns theories, best ask the question so i can ask him and get you more info about it unless i know the answer. -

Well the head did not need much work at all, the head was ported and flow tested to achieve maximum flow all this costed alot of money and time. The cams are of the shelf as they are the correct cams for the setup. I know 10K is alot of money however, think about how much money is spent in R&D when a new car is designed. Yes i agree V8 is the way to go !!! Soon will have the car finished and will updated any info i have about the build nothing to hide in this build. -

It has been used in the past by Rally cars in the olden days ( not sure if it was legal) Just like the bathurst R32 gtr used to use the fire extinguisher as a cooling agent for the intercoolers
