Changing The Extroid Cvt Oil In Adelaide
tienscissors replied to tienscissors's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I'm not sure if its different, but normal gearboxes uses oil to lubricate, the extroid box oil is used to create friction between the moving parts. So preferably just want someone that has done it before. Anything messes up and I'm screwed. I'll let you know if the seller is good. I'm guessing you didn't factor in shipping yet... 20L is about 20Kg.. -
Hi Guys, I just hit 100,000 kms on the GT8, so need to change the gearbox oil asap. I'm going to buy the oil here: http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/onlinestore/item/10000682/ But does anyone know a reliable mechanic that can change the oil for me? Preferably someone who's changed the gearbox oil in a GT8 Extroid gearbox before. Cheers

I've taken mine off, it was a while ago but I don't remember it being too difficult. Just need to take the plastic/cloth panels under the boot off first. The holes on mine are awful, i think it was hand drilled and they protrude up so the boot's not flat. still think its worth it. I haven't covered the holes, just left it. Tried putting rubber grommits (?) in them but the fell out eventually.

Help, Car Makes A Thud Noise When Starting Up
tienscissors replied to SL33K's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Does it occur as you turn the key to start the engine? or after the engine has already started? Long shot, but could it be the ABS brakes checking? It usually occurs when you first start driving though so might not be it. -
V35 Radio With Bad Reception (in Sa)
tienscissors replied to Ozeraser's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
got the same problem. can't get decent reception with band expander and stock radio. I've taken the band expander out a few time and rewired it. only got it to work a bit better - nothing decent. i've got another source for radio in my car so i haven't bothered going further with fixing it. -
If thats the correct price + shipping then I'm in too. but please make sure its the correct oil like nelson mentioned.

Button Besides Boot Release
tienscissors replied to Tom0956's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
heated windscreen. should see the filament things on the bottom edge of your windscreen. not very effective last time i tried, but i think its more for the snow than just a cold day. -

Infiniti To Come To Oz?
tienscissors replied to turbosuk's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I kinda hope they don't. Aren't imports generally cheaper than australian delivered cars? If Infiniti comes to Australia, doesn't it mean that we'll have to pay more for our skylines? NOoooooo.... I'm poor -
They are probably standard GT8 struts. I have the red ones on mine too. I don't have a nismo kit, so its not because the buyer upgraded.
-
Alan Have you figured out what format it plays? I recently installed one and I want to use it more often to prolong the life of my 6 Stacker CD. I need to get a MD recorder and just wondering the specs to buy. I'm interested in the NetMD recorders for the faster transfer rates from PC to MD. Do you know if the stacker will play this? Cheers Tien

Look What I Found In My Car
tienscissors replied to V35_Paul's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
you guys are lucky. all i found was 3 screws for the rear speakers not put back on, and a fat screw on my driver's side window that holds the bracket for the motor not put back on neither. most likely left there during compliance. -
Power Windows After Turning Off Ignition
tienscissors replied to tienscissors's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hmm.... anyone out there with a sedan that can comment? or is it just my car that can only do the driver's window? anyone you guys with a sunroof as well? i'll like to hook it up to that too. -
Hi All I have a sedan and after turning off the ignition, I can still control the driver's side window for an amount of time. Why is it only the driver's side windows? Question is, has anyone tried modifying it so that you can control all windows? I don't think it should be that hard right? It would be very convenient.

hehe.. worth a try. doesn't cost money to post on forums. sui loong bao was selling his whole setup for 500 bucks mate. had much more than just the 6 stacker. that 6 stacker should be worth nothing either new or old cos its a load of crap. offer denied. contact me when you are annoyed with it in your garage building up cobwebs then we do a direct swap

Exact same thing happened to mine once. Got a bit worried but everything was normal after that. It was extremely hot that day. Shouldn't be too worried about it. -
