  1. We're working on a 95 nissan 240sx-s14 with a RB20DET swap...trying to hook up some power steering and need to know what's up. We have a p/s connecting bracket from a S14, an adjusting bracket from a s14, and a RB20det p/s pump (3 ports so I'm guessing hiccas). We've rigged a p/s reservoir and the hard lines are still in place on the chassis...I've found the hard line w/ the banjo nut on the end...and found the line that comes from the lines right at the steering shaft (left hand) and goes to the reservoir. I'll thing we'll at least need the line from pump to res. My questing is ... I see no easy way to bypass hiccas on this pump (no welding/cutting ability)...can it be done? and if not, will a p/s pump from a SR20DET work w/ the rb?, or will a factory s14 KA p/s pump work w/ the rb? will we need an rb20det p/s mounting bracket, regardless of what pump we use or can any other nissan bracket be made to fit this engine and pump? and will the KA adjusting bracket work w/ any of these pumps/mounting brackets? We tried lining up the rb20det pump w/ the KA mounting bracket and it doesn't look like it will work at all (for one, the hicas part of the pump blocks the hole where the bolt needs to come out for mounting, another... even if we file through this part, it looks like the pump will sit lop-sided in the bracket, not allowing for proper belt installation)...we really want power steering on this thing but are trying not to spend a fortune. Any help would be appreciated. If I get a response on this...I may need help finding an rb20det p/s mounting bracket. Georgia-USA Thanks in advance...cheers.

  3. What's up guys...and gals...just poppin in to say hello. I'm from the southeastern US - Georgia...my buddy and I have a project car, 1995 Nissan 240sx (S14) w/ a RB20DET swap. We have had some major issues with this thing over the last year (the people that originally did the swap messed everything up and my friend has been paying for their trash ever since...finally realizing what we all know...do it yourself...the only way to know it's proper). Anyways, due to the fact that this seems to be a fairly uncommon swap around here (more sr20 / rb25 and 26 swaps)...I have had trouble finding good info and this site has provided some much needed knowledge about the RB more than a couple times. Peace
