What Kind Of Pod Filter For A R33?
ClutchBurndout-:( replied to ...::BROD'Z::...'s topic in General Maintenance
its just not worth getting a fine for having a pod and fmic (if you have one) and you will lose power from the pod sucking in hot air you can get cheap enclosures off ebay for 130 or something, in that case, you may have a small increase in power, but not noticeable, the only thing that will be noticeable is the pssssssshhhhhhhhh noise it makes that will eventually annoy the shit out of you. -
hey all, somehow SOMEHOW i lost a center cap off one of my wheels on the weekend, anyway, does anyone know where you can buy new ones? are they all the same type? aka, all clip in?

How To Spray Paint Your Interior
ClutchBurndout-:( replied to ...::BROD'Z::...'s topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
if you want to paint your dash fascia then youll need the following plastic primer desired colour of acrylic paint clear gloss (if you want a glossy finish)(recommended to protect paint) any minor sand paper such as 800-1500 grit, id go 1200 keep your primer and colour brands the same if you can -once you get the rubber film off give the whole fascia a sand ALL OVER the fascia, and when i mean all over i mean every single spot that will be painted other wise the primer may not stick properly and may orange peel up. MAKE SURE NO RUBBER BITS ARE ANYWHERE -once sanded give it a wipe with wax and grease remover -spray with plastic primer slowly, keeping an eye on sections that dont stick properly, if all sticks fine, just give it a couple of layers to make sure every bit of plastic is covered. -let primer dry -apply paint, dont spray to much on at a time, do a thin layer every time, you dont need the desired coverage straight away (aka dont sit there spraying one spot) keep applying layers till the full colour is present and no plastic is showing from beneath. -apply clear gloss the same as you did with the colour, except you wont need as much, but the more you put on the "deeper" the colour will look, and remember, dont apply to much in the same spot to quickly as it may run, you dont want this. depending on the weather, it might be hard to get a glossy finish, if its hotter, the gloss will dry quicker and less glossy, so i recommend spraying on a cooler day, under 20c. never spray when raining. never spray after its been raining. only spray when outside is completely dry, wait a couple of days if it has rained. since its your first time, be prepared to screw up and start over., plastic IS NOT easy to work with. and last but not lease PREPARATION PREPARATION PREPARATION if your un-confident with the preparation, give it another sand, or wax and grease wipe to be safe -
not uras ones but what about these ones? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Carbon-Fiber-Eyebro...=item3356dcf873

if you bog a section on a not perfectly flat surface you will notice the difference on it, because if the lip is rough plastic, then the finished product of bog will be super smooth (because you wont be able to acheive the rough finish like the lip on the bogged section)

52mm Radiator.fan Shroud Cant Fit
ClutchBurndout-:( replied to menglo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
im not saying that its just as efficient, but the fan blades are designed to suck air from in front of the fan. if you hold a string to the side of the fan without a shroud, i bet the string wont get sucked into the side of the fan. ive said it once, ill say it again, its less efficient, but not useless imo -

i think you would have more issues if you cut your blades than having a fan cover on, you should be fine because the fan cover has nothing to do with handling on the road. if you cut your finger off on the fan while working on the car its your fault and cant cause any hard to other drivers, unless of course you work on your car while driving on a free way, and your hand gets caught in the fan causing you to hit other cars. -

Wastegate Flapper Issues, Maybe
ClutchBurndout-:( replied to 4rdr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i dont know if this could cause it, but jjr split dump pipes are pretty poor quality (if its a jjr one, but this being said, maybe a lot of them are like this), im not saying this because i hate jjr or anything but from hands on experience, when i bought one before my bellmouth, i inspected it and noticed that the hole for the wastegate pipe that joins to the main pipe is poorly cut, and in actual fact is only about 50%-75% size of the actual wastegate pipe, so say that the wastegate pipe part of the split dump pipe is the site of a 50c coin, the opening on the main pipe is only the size of a 10c coin... i fixed this by spending about an hour filing away at the hole, but all this being said i dont think i had any issues with boost creep that wasn't boost controller related, i used to get boost creep right up to 14psi (when the boost controller was set to 12psi) i fixed this by getting a evc, but a turbotech boost controller is just as good. hope some of the this info sheds some light -

rb25det the stock heatsheild i guess is a bit more economic than a heat blanket that wraps around the turbo as the bottom of the turbo gets some air to it, so im just wondering, with either, do they have any affect on the heat of the turbo? we all know turbos run at a million degrees (give or take) will a heat blanket or stock heat sheild raise this temperature? as the turbo cant soak in any nearby cooler air to cool it down a bit? the main question im asking is, what effect does a heat blanket have on a turbo, heat wise. will it shorten its life due to the extra heat on the turbo from the heatblanket keeping the heat in?

Slight Kink In Turbo Oil Return
ClutchBurndout-:( replied to ClutchBurndout-:('s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
understood, cheers ! -
imo the first one looks best, free flowing just means a straight through muffler, easily noticed by looking in the muffler. i have an xforce canon, i dont know if the canons have the same sound as the ovels but i find the xforce is to deep and drony, not my thing
