  1. cheers mate, will try them all this weekend and report back, hoping it fixes the issue! i dont mind spending some cash on coilpacks if they need replacing though, if thats whats causing it cheers
  2. read my bold replies above also, the heat sheild comes off first, so u can access all the 4 top nuts, then the 2 underneith are from under the car with a spanner (i dont think u can get a rachet on them) also, if ur jjr pipe is the same as mine, which i think it is, you wont be able to get the passenger side bolt back in, as the pipe warps over it, i wouldnt stress to much on it, the bottom and top bolt/nuts should stop any leakage
  3. i have an autometer one for sale http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Vi...ag-t329755.html
  4. do you think the above mentioned issues with a cracked coil or to large a gap for plugs would cause this?
  5. its definatly psi, the guage says psi would r&r cause it to pop like this though? i thought it would just run slower and richer, this was like crazy popping like the rev limiter but replace the revs with pops, and wouldnt rev more
  6. have an update guys after fitting my controller i set the boost to 8 psi ish, and now when giving it juice it starts to POP after around 4 or 5k rpm, it feels like it his redline and dosent want to gain anymore rpm and goes pop pop pop pop pop pop untill i back off, the boost dosent creep past 10 psi when this happens so it must be something with the engine, any ideas?
  7. ok cheers, will look into the steel wool, and unblock the pipe, im gonna have to get some new pipe though since theres no way i getting the ball out lol
  8. yea thats what ive done, just thought it was weird they said "to turbo" cheers guys
  9. hey all, got my turbotech controller in yesterday, and this may well be the most stupid question ever asked, but in an effort to not install it incorrectly im checking with you guys the instructions they gave me... they have one end saying "to turbo" and one end saying "to wastegate actuator" if im not mistaken one has to go to the intercooler... which end goes to the cooler?! this is what i drew up at work, the instructions are at home but it says the same thing
  10. the bearing is a pretty easy fix, i wouldnt stress to much!
  11. ok guys, will inspect the coilpacks to see what the g.o. is, do i have to get plugs gapped at .8? isnt stock 1.1? any benafits of .8 apart from creating a weaker spark? (which isnt a benafit)
  12. definatly sounds like a wheel bearing, maybe you broke the hub seal and the grease has gone, check your bearing
  13. so if i keep it blocked, whats the cons of that? cos id like to keep even the small amount of fumes out of there... or is there something very wrong with having it blocked? ta
  14. hmm, didnt think of that, the plugs are iridium's, not sure what gap, i only had a quick look to check the state of them, my coils are strange now than u mention it, they have this orange silicon on the back of them, not neatly done (well, not neat enough to come from factory) so someone has played with them, what could be the story here?
  15. i dont know about the rest but the big blocked one goes to your intake crossover pipe
  16. yep that sounds correct while using the boost solonoid, but mine isnt hooked up yea i think its around 2.5k rpm, it boosts up to 5psi normal
  17. sure its not ur pod or airfilter?
  18. almost exactly 4500, basically it hits 5psi pretty quick and sticks to it untill 4500, then starts to creep to 7psi slowly, and it feels really rough and flat, (what i think its r&r) im not 100% if it gets to 7psi and stays there as i always back off as it starts to get to 7psi as it feels too rough to drive i made this pic with my leet photoshop skills, hopefuly it shows whats happening a bit clearer
  19. u loosened them the lame way step 1, get a jack step 2, place short solid bar on filler/empty plug step 3, jack up the jack step 4, place hand on your back and pat
  20. only thing that i can see is the pod will need re oiling every 10k or watever, and its spelt greddy, not greedy
  21. i just bought a house, and, apart from cleaning it, what other ways are there to maintain it?
