  1. its been doing it since i got it, ill try disconnecting the battery, both terminals? i havnt, but ive had the car for about 3 weeks so i dont know what the last ownder did,but how would it know that the steering wheel is off center? its only alen screws... speedo is fine!
  2. just out of curiosity, why special plugs? the best ones are the normal ones imo, but everyones different! valley cover leak is easy to fix (if it is causing this issue) you just take the center cover out and tighten the screws up, done, but just for good measure check your valley gaskets are ok, i suspect if its leaking enough oil to foul a spark plug that the gasket could need replacing, but like i said, these are the first things to check before jumping to conclusions! any time, dont forget to report back!
  3. i think your all missing the point, why the f*k would there be surface rust under the bonnet to begin with? did the owner drive around with the bonnet open? and then, a big rock hit the top of the strut tower, ripping the paint off and denting it? and if it just had some paint peeled off for whatever chance, why would it need bog to repair surface rust? cos it IS bog by the way, just by looking at it you can tell. its a lemon, say bye bye
  4. as the title says, i have my hicus still in and hooked up to stock etc, but the hicus light on my dash turns on after 5 mins of driving and dosent turn off unless the car turns off, what would be causing this? and how do i fix it? does the light mean my hicus is buggered? cheers
  5. certainly sounds like a spark plug issue, when was the last time you did your plugs? to me its almost like one of the spark plugs has oil on them and the idleing time to wait before 6th kicks in is the oil burning away or dispersing thus allowing it to fire, have you checked the leak situation in the inside of the valley covers? first and easiest thing to do before jumping to conclusions is to change your plugs and make sure there isnt any oil leaking onto them! then report back
  6. not once in my life have i screwed around with the bleed nuts, just bled your system, buy some coolent for 12 bucks and bobs ur aunty
  7. im a big fan of nulon, i use 100% synthetic 10-40, good stuff, but ill always use motul gearbox fluid, it works wonders
  8. its up to you and wat u like, people will only suggest wat THEY like, and everyones different
  9. people take it out to do sik skidz, if u dont do said skidz, i wouldnt bother
  10. white smoke? indicates piston rings are worn... not a good sign good way to see is get him to start it cold, say when u want to see it dont run it before u get to his house, so u can see what its like to start see how long it takes to start the car with the key, if it turns over for ages to start its not a good sign, a quick ignition is a good sign when the car is running when warm, open the oil filler cap and see if any blowby is coming out, maybe get ur mate to rev the engine a bit to see the blowby, blowby is bad check the chassie for cracks and suss repairs check the sump for bog (if people stack over a gutter, they might bog the sump up to hide damage, ive inspected a car with this done to it)
  11. lol ahh the old (i dont want a cat, but i dont want to get in trouble) threads the post to end all posts yes decats are illegal no its not likely someone will catch it (i had none for about a year with stains on the ass and everything, never had any trouble) yes if you do get caught its 10k fine (willing to risk it?) if you want to run no cat, dont drive like an idiot and u wont get pulled over and last but not least, if u live in knox (victoria) DONT even THINK about taking the cat out
  12. it will need a cert simple - any change to a motor that isnt factory = cert
  13. youll flip out when the guage starts to play up, somedays it shows normal, and somedays it shows half what it should be (aka 1 when idle, 2 or 3 when driving) just remember its just the guage. mine does this
  14. just move up the 2 nuts holding the throttle cable in, it wouldnt stretch
  15. careful, he might totaly beat you with the comeback "yes"
  16. ive got mine still in, i keep them in otherwise dirt and crap will fling onto the front bar (i have brake vents, example, gtr front bar, 400r front bar) when its raining you will see alot of gunk on the front bar where the wheel has flicked dirt everywhere. only reason

  18. thanks heaps guys, will try these methods! well they do as the metal prong on the pad hits the disc, but it doesnt do it all the time, as i beleive, they will squeel at any pressure of the brake pedal, but i can pull up at lights without them squeeling by not braking as hard, but its a pain in the ass cos sometimes i go over the traffic lights line to avoid the squeel + it only squeels when there warm, dosent do it cold.
  19. hey guys, i took my dash facia off to clean it up which means unplugging everything etc, and now my climate control lights dont work, is there a seperate plug for the climate control lights that ive mist? or have i blown a fuse or something? cheers
  20. oh ok cool, any chance you can draw me up a quick diagram? just finding it a bit hard to understand you, + i dont want to rig up something incorrect!
  21. orange cleaner, never thought of that... a well, i managed to just peel it off, just took all day, a well, its done now!
