  1. good points, we did drop the rear 2 cradle nuts to get to the back diff bolts, (the cradle being the whole main frame holidng everything) and ever since we changed the diff im getting a bit of a clunk over bumps in the rear, its either the diff or drive shaft or SOMETHING, so maybe it needs to be tweaked by a mechanic
  2. my observations remains valid and yet to be unconfirmed, it might not be the syncros, as it dosent grind everytime at any rpm, it dosent grind more than it does, its a sometimes thing even at higher rpm, so what else could it be? would thinning the oil down a bit help it?
  3. hey all, i replaced my rooted diff with what i thought was a decent diff, and turns out that its acting up, i have no idea why it does it, but when i turn sharply, like when im taking off and turning sharply at the same time, the diff grinds and feels horrible, this is the only time it does it, so im thinking that it isnt slipping properly? from my understanding the lsd will slip under X torque to allow the wheels to spin differently, i filled the gearbox with LIMSLIP 90 penrite oil right to the filler hole. any ideas on what its doing and how to fix it? (preferably oil based fixes ) cheers
  4. i got 2 prices for 2nd hand gear boxes that are apparently low kms, for 1800 each, tbh im not spending that on a gearbox that might not be so great unless it has a warrenty
  5. hey guys, as the title states, im after a 1 peice or 2 peice 3 inch bellmouth or split mouth dump front pipe, which replaces the stock dump and front pipes cheers
  6. it had redline in it, and i dumped it and used motul, no difference realy. the only reason i dont want to let it grind is because what if i get a reco someday? do they reco the gears aswell ? or just the syncros?
  7. i know that rb25 boxes take 3.8litres, but i bought 3x 1lt bottles and it seems to have reached the filler hole (hasnt pourd out yet, but when i stick my finger in and down a bit i feel the oil) my car isnt on an incline either. whats the story? and should i be worried? should i be putting the car on an incline so i CAN get 3.8lt in? cheers

Hey guys, i know your going to say the gearbox syncros need doing but hear me out. my 4th gear grinds SOMETIMES when shifting into 4th, maybe 1/5 times it does it on average, so it makes me think that its something else other than the syncro, because if it was the syncro wouldnt it grind every time? this is at any speed, weather i shift at 5k or 2.5k its still the same story, every now and then it grinds, i havnt experimented fully with this but i think it might do it less when its cold? not 100% though. what do you guys reckon? i went to a mech and he said i could thin the oil down a bit (im using motul gear 300, 75 90 or 80 90 or something) any ideas? i really dont want to have to get a reco if i dont need to. cheers
  9. hey guys, we just replaced my diff today since it was whining, and we just rattle gunned the bolts in, its a shitty rattle gun so theyre not THAT tight, but bit tighter than any hand can do, and i just want to know if theres some specific torque settings im supposed to use on them? they are the 2 back facing bolts (the one holding the hicus earch ring) and the main ones at the front of the diff facing down. cheers

  16. iv heard this is a common problem, but how do you stop the squeeling of breaks? my car squeels at any speed, not just when pulling up at lights or watever, its very annoying, do my discs need machining? cheers
  17. i did some searching and apparently the S2 have an ALSD, but i cant find what type of diff the S1 have? i have an M-Spec 93 S1, what type of diff does it have? is it an ALSD? cheers

  21. hey guys, just want to double check i have the correct diff oil for an r33 gtst, its a heavy duty 80-90 on the container it says limslip 90 gear oil correct stuff?
  22. yea im thinking the bronze/gold color to as mentioned by GBLOCK i dont realy want to do black cos i want the calipers to stand out
