  1. Buy a Kia
  2. The 355 ute isn't a Harrop stroker, it's on a black VU (GenIIIs are 346ci stock) SS. I saw HOT12Y on a blue-with-purple flames 120Y (120Ybother...) I've seen BLOGTR on an auto WRX with shit Tempe Tyres chromies on it and a 5-inch 'zorst. I liked: MYV88U on an HQ GTS Coupe (355 with efi, very nice!) IVG63 (4G63) on a 414kW GSR Lancer NIL84D (CSV Veloce) 2NIL8U (was on a single turbo Supra) NIL8GM (Supercharged XR8)
  3. He should do 2 things: 1) Stop writing as if other journos know nothing and are inferior to his opinionated prose that he spouts on AutoSpeed. 2) Stop touching kiddies.
  4. I've got a mate with an immaculate 1965 Mustang coupe. He bought it with savings (and help from his parents) when he was 14 and spent until 2001 getting it absolutley beautiful. Warm 289 with EFI, 5spd manual, modern wheels, great suspension and brakes etc. Then, he parked (in the lines) in a car park and as he was walking back to the car, watched in horror as a cab came in a ran down the side of the Muzzy, backed out and drove off. $4500 worth of damage. Saw the cabbie later and asked him why he didnt stop and he told us it wasn't his problem. We made it his problem after that! Grrrrr.
  5. Thought of RX-8? Bloody brilliant! Newish Beemer? Falcon XR6T is an awesome drive if you have a family. There's always the option of an Evo VIII... Interior is crap but oh, the performance!!!!
  6. Speed also did one when they did an R32 GT-R buyer's guide (6pages) in issue 3 last year... If you like i could mail you a copy (we've got s--t loads here). And Julian Edgar doesn't know s--t from clay. He reckons the GT-R is one of the worst handling cars he's driven as his R32 oversteered quite a bit. Couldn't have had anything to do with his excessive heavy foot could it? He also sang the praises of Mitsubishi Ralliart Magna and the sporty Verada Ltd edition. 'Nuff said.
  7. I'm just waiting on my friend to e-mail it back to me... It has been featured in a sidebar in Motor magazine i think... Might have been Wheels or HPI... Can't remember which one now...
  8. Yeah it was. Had some bits they were doing R&D on but weren't put into production cause they kept breaking. He was given 2 cars by Nissan and built one shit-hot one out of them. It's a ery cool car!
  9. Ja i saw it. And the car i am talking bout was a GT-R (4 door shell loaded with the pumped guards/spoiler, etc) and NA RB26. GT-R interior as well. I'll e-mail my mate and get the link to the car. I KNOW the car, it was the bloke's private road car... He built one with 4WD and the GT-R guards, one with the guards but without the 4WD system as well... I don't think we're talking about the same car Rezz
  10. They built a GT-R (4wd, ATESSA, etc) with RB26DE, i know a guy who lived in Japan and knows the dude who runs Autech and got taken for a run in the car. I dunno if it did the round of shows, i know it was his daily driver for a fair while. He reckoned it was a better drive than the TT GT-Rs
  11. Autech built a 4dr GT-R with an RB26DE, yep no turbos... Nissan engineers have a habit of taking turbos off RB-series engines. I like the Blitz Skyline 4dr drifters! 500hp? Yes please!
  12. hahahahaha. Sorry, i forgot company race cars... i mean hacks... oops sorry. Company company fleet cars and rental cars.
  13. Remember, Skylines are for performance-oriented drivers. Commodores are for getting little Jimmy to soccer and school.
  14. The weight and gearing worked against the Senator JimX. And as for '98 Vectras, a V6 Manual can keep with a 200SX (i've seen it done). And all LX Torana-onwards Holdens do single-spinners as it's the way the BorgWarner diff operates. My old UC Trana did it, a mate's VH did it. VTs, VXs, and VYs do it.
  15. Do the cars have different trim? Would you belive there can be as much as 15kg difference between fully padded Sube WRX seats and the optional STi racey buckets? It all adds up, even sound proofing... I must admit, i stopped liking Holdens after the HQ Monaro GTS Coupe...
  16. How much does an R33 weigh? A V6 Commy should tip the scales at around 1560kg for an Executive V6 VT-VX and 1580kg for a VY. SS' are quite a bit heavier (even though GenIII is all alloy) at 1670kg. It's a lot of inertia to get moving off the line...
  17. Renault built an Espace van that was "special". It had been given to Williams F1 who had wide-bodied it, decked it out with carbon fibre and a space frame, F1 suspension and brakes and then installed a 400kW 3L V10 F1 engine... Should'a bought that!
  18. Or the Insight... :bahaha: Turbo'd 2.2L S2000 (S2200?) would've been a good thing...
  19. Imagine the accountant's reaction: "Whoops! I just forgot about that!" They've announced bankruptcy. Just when Honda Australia had lined up a deal to import the Mugen parts to sell through dealers! Honda Oz also wanted to sell some complete cars with "Mugen Ltd Edition" badging. NSX-R, Civic M-R (mugen r-spec), Mugen-Integra Type-R and Accord Mugen-Edition were all being tested. Before you ask, they were rebuilt out here by Honda with bolt-on shite, although the proposed S2000-edition had internal engine work done to it...
  20. Try an XT Falcon. They're good cars, but not if he's doing the bulk of his driving around town, 4L 6cyl in a 1600kg car isn't fuel efficient. Mazda6 is beaut. Nothing like it for the size, price, fit and finish and dynamics. Not in a new car segment anyway...

    The New GT-R...!!!

Sweating you? Hmm, rightio mate. You've swallowed a healthy dose of "GT-R Hype" and instead of wasting my time anymore, I think i'll let you sit back and get very disappointed instead when October rolls around

    The New GT-R...!!!

Not really, an R34 GT-R N1 we rolled on the dyno (not literally thank god) spat out 214kW AT THE WHEELS in 35-degree heat in a Canberra shed. 170-odd km/h in 4th gear... So figure on around 300-315kW @the flywheel. Yeah, right. Gentlemen's agreement my ar#e!

    The New GT-R...!!!

The car will be displayed as the final, production-ready car. That was announced by Nissan International in May. Remember that this is Nissan's primo vehicle, to be sold in every western market there is. Goshn said it will be in every country Mitsu sells Evos and Subi sells STis. Out here, Leon Daphne wants the car bad, but it's unclear whether we will get the Yank V8 or Jap/Euro V6.

    The New GT-R...!!!

Buy the magazine you cheap bastard! It's only $7! :bahaha: Speed No.8 hits the stand on July 28-29

    The New GT-R...!!!

Whatever. Remember, America buys more cars than anyone else and it's the world's largest car-buying market. And Japan isn't getting the bent-eight or auto option. It's going to be a world car and Carlos Goshn has said it will be Nissan's "Halo vehicle". Are you sure an NA V8 will weigh more than a TT V6? Turbos can weigh quite a bit. If you don't belive me, that's ok. We will see IF the car's released in October.
