  1. Malcom, this wasn't the Summernats Elite Hall. I was one of the judges and I walked around with Christian looking at each car as thoroughly as we could. While you raise some interesting points, it's still a young show and that needs to be remembered when offering judging criticism. These guys have done an awesome job, Dan, Christian, Carlo and Brendan have shone even though they were novices. You mention getting under cars but the simple fact is that most of these cars are daily drivers and unless you'd like to front up next year with a chassis ramp (like the one used in the Elite Hall at Nats) it's kinda hard to judge. Especially with baking hot Hotmix under foot. I stand by my choices for each award (Mmmm, GTRRRRR, R32 goodness, mmmmm). Seeing how you've felt it necessary to dump on the organisers so quickly after the event, maybe you'd like to give them a hand for next year, I will be. Put up or shut up. Cheers, Iain
  2. Cristian, what happened to your GT-R?
  3. Beaut day for Speed and we got stacks of pics although both Mark (the photographer) and I are toast. Can't believe the turnout and so many really high quality cars as well! We have gotten a couple of feature cars out of this event and keep your eyes peeled around the 7th of June for SPEED 13. Tops day blokes, now I'm off to buy shares in an Aloe Vera farm...
  4. GUYS THIS IS A WARNING ABOUT POLICE BLITZ AROUND MINGARA They're targeting speeding, drink driving and seat belts around the Mingara/Wyong Road area. Take it easy from the F3 Freeway all the way to The Entrance as there's Highway Patrol cruising Wyong Road looking for any speeding, etc.

  6. GUYS THIS IS A WARNING ABOUT THE POLICE BLITZ AROUND MINGARA!!!!!! The cops are having a major blitz on Wyong Road, just near Mingara so take it easy! Speed, drink driving and seat belts are being targeted. You have been warned...
  7. das rice. I don't think Fritz will be happy with you guys taking the piss. Germans have a habit of doing this kinda stuff too. All purple interiors with woodgrain highlights? Yup, a German invention. Damn Hun.
  8. That's strange, I could swear that's a GTS-t.... That bloke mustn't have a clue...
  9. Rezz, I didn't realise that Renault owned Pagani? Or Porsche?
  10. Conrats guys. Don't know ya personally but here's hoping for the best.
  11. May the 'jackers' be infested with a horrible fungus of the anal tract and be forced to lick manky **** cheese out of a festering pit of discharge. At least they'll never wanna nick a base-model Commodore...
  12. I thought Brougham was a crappy old Holden (yes, i know there's a lot of crappy old Holdens out there)
  13. Even though it's rice, i don't mind a car with 450kW, even if it does have an HK GTS 327 Monaro-wannabe racing stripe... Everybody needs some carbohydrates in their diet once... Although there's always a WRX/200SX/Skyline in the mag, it's got pretty good wide-ranging coverage of different types of cars. It can't be everything to everyone but at least it's improving the layout and photography standards of traditional mags.
  14. If the lighter car is a Holden of course it will break quick! Or if it's a Lotus: Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious
  15. I think they just bought the GT4 review off Car mag in England. It's the same design and layout and everything! Mind you that silver 200SX and Boxster were pretty cool. So was Joe Tobaji's car...
  16. Gulp. I think I've just wet myself...
  17. Check his hands. That dude with the WRX must have some bad-ass callouses
  18. I was at a "private test track" when a turbo Hayabusa was laying down 8.6s over the 400m. The only reason it didn't go faster was traction was non-existant. The old bloke (58 yr old) riding it took it to Europe in 2002 and only three cars kept up with him, and one decimated him. Kept Up: An insanely modded R33 GT-R with over 1000hp (big twin-turbo, high-mount), a modified GT2 Porsche, race-modified F40 Ferrari. Kicked His Arse: Dauer 962 LeMans Porsche (road car). He was saying that he ran his bike up to 260km/h on an AutoStrada (in Italy) and passed the Dauer who dropped it a peg or two and roared past. The bike dude thought it would be easy pickings so he would up the 'Busa and tried to catch the car. Didn't happen. Bike-bloke came back here and researched what kind of car it was and he's now saving the $2million he needs to buy one.
  19. DJ, I think you'd find that both turbos blow into all six cylinders, it's just that they do it at different revs.
  20. "Hey boss, you're not gunna believe what happened. In fact, it's pretty funny..."
  21. Was in SPEED issue 003. Very Noice Kimmy
  22. Well at least he got them out of some heavy financial shit and also negotiated with American authorities to drop some nasty pending legal action that could have caused the death of Nissan. It was only a few years ago that he turned Nissan around from being a financial the sphincter of the universe to profit-making organisation.
  23. Ronin, why bother with that POS manual in the XR6T when you could bathe glory of the four-speed auto? It is handling some big power from tuner cars in standard trim. Ford's stripping weight out of the 6T for Series II and will unleash a 280+kW 6spd FPV version soon. Second "Golden Era" of Aussie muscle. Holden's new 3.5L quad-cam, all-alloy 4V-per cyl motor is rumoured to have a turbo hanging off each bank of cylinders as well. Not huge power, but massive amounts of torque. They're also gearing up for the new 6.0L Gen IV V8
  24. Ahhh whoops. Though you were talkin' bout the March 28th show... My bad, I'll go sit in the corner
