Now all you need is Nissan's racing history from KPGC10 GT-R to Le Mans to JGTC, LOL! It's great to see someone so dedicated to preserving history. People who write books on the Grp A era are going to thank their lucky stars when they find that info posted above! Cheers to you GraemeWi!

Eddy Tassone's made up to 1500 rwhp in his VH Commodore. Twin turbo 6.3L (383cui) Holden 5L stroker. F$%kin' awesome...

Had to laugh at FULPSI on a real bodgy old R31 Skyline a coulpe of weeks ago. It's turbo but the p-plater driving must've spent all his money on the plates...

Need your opinion on cars

AE86 is a Toyota Sprinter. Like a shit-hot Corolla Seca. I think some had supercharged 1.6L 4A??? engines from the factory -
I would've liked to see Porsche's top gun 911 take on the others. The GT3 is the quickest NA Porka but it pales in comparison to the "son of rajab God King Emporer" GT2. The "Deuce" as it's known, is a hotted-up Turbo (348kW/600Nm) but with 2WD, not the Turbo's 4WD.
-
I still reckon you're wasting the NSX on the drag strip, it's built for more than straight-line speed. I wouldn't mind seeing Aston Martin AM V8 (the new baby 911-fighter) vs Lamborghini Gallardo vs new NSX vs 996 911 Turbo.

Some plates from Summernats: OUTLAW... on a dumped black 57 Chev coupe with flames, that had a blown & injected 426 Hemi, 650rwhp! (I liked it, it matched the car) The worst was: BAD069 No-one wants that

I got to drive a private-owned Evo VIII and it's snappier than a MY03 STi and quicker round Wakefield by quite a margin (at least 5seconds). Could be drivers but I don't think i'm that good. Evo vs STi in Best Motoring 7 is a VERY interesting comparo. It really depends on how humid the ambient temp. is. I've seen some Rexes pick up quite a bit of time, while Evos seem to favour cold, crisp air (similar to RX-7s). The Evo VI ACD was a pretty tricky thing but when drivers learnt to trust it they were so much faster than the ones who'd put LSDs in
-
Erm, yes i have driven an Evo VIII. Why? Evo VIII DOES make the Rex look pedestrian because of its shorter gearing, which means it blasts the 0-180km/h quicker than the WRX STi can. As for your claim that the Evo is following the STi: Well that's why Ralliart blatantly copied FHI by putting AYC and ACD on their cars, D'oh!
-
Actually, i know the dudes at the magazine and it wasn't as lightly modded as they claim. And yes, it was an N1, noone they talked to would lend their stock R34 GT-R for the test (with good reason: top speed test in a car with a 180km/h limiter?)
-
Subaru are meant to be releasing a road-going version of their WRC car called WRCar. According to the rumours, it's pretty much going to be the same as what Petter Solberg drives, except for the engine which will be the 300hp US STi donk with more torque. 5 are coming to Oz...
-
Funny man, I like you! :bahaha: Try launching an Evo VIII. Makes Rex look pedestrian, nothing from Subaru or STi i've driven (and i've had a go in a few quick Subies, incl a 22B) accelerates from 40-160km/h like the Evo. By the way, you ever notice Subaru backwards is U-R-A-BUS!

The NSX and the GT-R are totally different cars doing a similar job: going effing quick. GT-R is a 2+2 techno wizz coupe while the NSX (and NSX-TypeR) were designed as town-friendly supercars that your granny could drive to the shops. For the record, the NSX won the first TWO targa tassies in the hands of Greg Crick. Richo wasn't driving in it back then and even when he entered his R32 GT-R he didn't do very well. Not until Porsche power anyway...

I want to go to the 24hr race, just to hear the Lambo going flat-strap down the straights and across Sulman, Reid and McPhillarmy Park

well i killed a kid on a scooter. he shouldn't have been crossing the road there though. It's a bitch to get brains out of the tread pattern!

Singo was in a Bentley, on the Hume, at 2am, doing 160km/h. He was let off for his brilliant driving record. Funny, if i was driving a 911 Turbo Porsche on the Hay Plain (long, flat, open straight) at 180km/h (even though the car can hit 300+) you reckon my clean driving record will save me? There's no longer any excuse for extreme speeds on public streets. We have race tracks within reasonably close proximity to most major cities that host no speed limit days and off-street drags. Better than killing yourself or others. By the way, i wonder if all these people who say "it doesn't matter, i'll just go into the country/deserted area to do my fanging" realise the shit they leave behind when they wipe out. Think about what your parents would feel like if they got a knock on the door at 2am with a cop standing there going, "Sorry Mr XXX, but your son Billy's just turned himself into a greasy smear on a pole". -
It's going in a print publication. World scoop as there isn't meant to be any Brabus E-V12s in the country. Mag is released soon, can't say what mag as it would ruin the scoop... I don't think the Nismo GT-RZ would be able to catch the Gemballa GTR round the old 'ring. It's the only car to make former world rally campion and Porsche test driver, Walter Rohl break into a sweat and claim that he was scared by the performance. Not just by how fast it went, but by how controllable and user-friendly it is.
-
The Nurbergring badge is, "in honour of the Skyline's success at the famous European circuit in the face of more powerful opposition". That's from a press release when the car was released. As for the record: It's held by a car called the Gemballa GTR EvoII (680kW, 700Nm, TT flat 6), then comes the RUF Turbo R, then the GT2. Noone's punted a genuine Ferrari/Lambo/etc round the old 'ring cause it's too freakin dangerous! And yes, Gemballa and RUF are manufacturers like CSV and HSV are. They reengineer Porsches and stick their own compliance plate on them. Like BRABUS does with Mercs. Which leads me to an interesting shootout about to be published: R34 GT-R N1 vs BRABUS E-V12 (fastest saloon on the planet at a speed-limited 340km/h). It's a twin-turbo 7L V12 in an E55 E-class body. If you're interested, BRABUS won. But the publication stated: "The GT-R, bang for yer bucks, is the superior car here with more tuning potential. How we would've loved a fully tuned version from a fabled house like Garage Saurus or Autech."

It would be funny if it was weed. That would've made "smoking" the tyres interesting

Actually i saw it on www.wreckedexotics.com Estonian Ford Escort (not a Cossie). 20 yr-old male driver doing 100mph in the wet hit a tree and was ejected from the car. Couple of broken bones (field in front of the car is full of long grass and it had been raining so the ground was nice and soft). Other pics in bad wrecks on www.wreckedexotics.com

I would just like to add my .02 cents worth. I've though long and hard about the state of driving in Australia and it seems that 99.9% of motorists see their license as a right not a privilege. That's problem No. 1 No. 2 is a misconception pushed by revenue raising govt.s It's not speed that kills. It's IRRESPONSIBLE SPEED, eg: A p-plater doing 170km/h in a school zone in a clapped-out Corolla, OR 110km/h in teeming wet in heavy traffic with 5m visibility. After a few years experience it might be ok to do 150km/h on a freeway in high-visibility in a 200SX/GT-R etc. I can only trace the source of these 2 issues back to one thing. ATTITUDE. Attitude governs whether you floor it past the pedestrian crossing filled with kids or whether you choose to back off in miserable weather conditions or when you recognise you lack of experience in a certain situation. A good driver isn't neccesarily someone who can control a car at 300km/h while drifting and eating a donut. It's someone who knows when to give it a fang, when to back off and when to just git thar hell awf dem roads! As for the media beating up stories. That's their job, all you can do is prove to them we aren't a bunch of knob-less tryhards and drive sensibly. Counter their fiction with fact. :burnout: :burnout: -
Got a friend who imported a '67 Corvette convertible in from Mississippi and what he found was really f--ked up. 12 live shotgun shells hidden under the seat. Don't ask me how they got through but i was there when we pulled em out. There was also apparently some kind of dead, poisonous snake curled up in the suspension. Weird, huh? I thought customs thoroughly searched every car that came through and confiscated any ammo/guns/nuclear waste, etc...

Buy a Merc, sell it the next day. If you're going to keep the car, don't worry about the 350Z or WRX (i personally don't think they're worth the hype). An E36 M3 is beaut, or a second hand 911 Porsche, or a second hand RS4 Audi wagon (can burn most Jap imports), or 1/500 of a new Enzo, or a field of 120Y Datsuns.
