  2. Contact John P at Unique. I'm sure he will pass on his experience and save you a lot of wasted time. m
  3. In my experience, the SAFC will not work with the M35. Unique Autos spent a day trying to make it work, but found it incompatible with the onboard computer. m
  4. I'M here now ~ no sign of life MM
  5. If needed, I could get one for my next mid-life crisis. LOL That's the plan. I bought a twin turbo z for my last one. mm
  6. Hell no. I'll drive this one for a couple of years then get the new Infiniti G37 Convertible. Skyline coupe - 4wd, 4ws, v6 3.6 motor with a hard top convertible Should be able to bring them in 2nd hand from japan by the time my ARX hits 100,000 ks Yum
  7. Don't expect much from the M35 battery. Twice now I have sat waiting in the car with engine off, the radio going and inadvertently left the A/C fan blowing. 5 - 10 minutes only. Twice now I have had to jump start the car. The local auto electrician says the battery is fine, but that it has very little capacity. I would fit a better battery, but the compartment is tiny. Any suggestions? m
  8. Can't offer advice, but a warning. My car has a +9% speedo error and it is really irritating. Sit on the indicated speed and you are blocking traffic, and to do the rough calculation in your head and drive at a higher indicated speed means that you are constantly thinking about "how fast am I really going". It's a trivial thing, but if you see a cop and the speedo says 120, you can't help but react. Looking forward to getting new tyres in due course and will reap the benefits of your research. m
  9. He was silver - Mine is gold m
  10. Spotted a silver m35 coming out of Thornleigh shops Don't think he saw me
  11. Have I got the wrong person? Gold M35 Stagea? Maybe its MXFLY
  12. I've seen Andy65b across my driveway AND driven his car mxfly - looking forward to meeting you How about this Thursday at berowra? m
  13. I would be interested in the dyno day Mine was measured at 150kw atw - standard car but hi flow cat, hi flow airfilter, + hi flow exhaust. measured at 15 psi boost across the range, running very rich m
  14. I took the 3 cats of and replace them with a highflow. Gave the old cats to Ben at North Shore prestige. He may still have them m
  15. Hard to quantify. Last tank gave me 12.5 l / 100, previously its been more like 15. 570 ks per tank vs 450 As I said, I'm trying the 2nd tank now. As to power, this is seat of the pants stuff. I'm comparing with my 200kw ATW zxtt. Still not as fast, but noticeably better than it was. m
  16. Happy now! Sydney Kid provided the bars together with a training session on how bars are made, how suspension works and a pile of expertise and assistance. THANK YOU! I now have car that does not scrape on every bump and goes around corners very nicely. This is now a true All Road Crossover. So the summary for other ARX owners is: Bilstein shocks - sourced ex Northshore prestige. Peddars springs - sourced ex Northshore prestige. Selby bars sourced ex Sydney Kid. MM
  17. I may be wrong, but Caltex fuel seems to be giving me significantly more power and better economy (100 ks / tank extra) than the Shell that I have been habitually using. This may just be my engine, it may be the M35 V6? I've just filled up again and will monitor the usage. Has anyone else experienced this? M35 owners - have a try and let me know what you think mm Strong advice after lots of nissans - NEVER put anything except the shell or BP fuel in them! Ian
  18. I don't have access to a lift. I have read the threads on how to, but have heard that there are some mobile mechanics who can do the job for me. m
  19. Got the new Peddars springs installed. She doesn't scrape any more and retains the outstanding handling. If anything, it has improved the turn in and the car has more tendency to over steer than the previous under steering. Sway bars are next on the list. Can anyone recommend someone to install them for me? m
  20. Exactly Runs incredible rich and boost drops off in the higher rev range
  21. The guys at Unique Autosports tried to fit one to my ARX with no success. They had previously installed on on my 300zxtt with very positive results. I'm currently investigating having the chip reprogrammed by Silverwater Automotive Services.
  22. Coming out of compliance it had three (3) cats. I had a high flow cat installed to replace them and also upgraded the rear muffler. The centre muffler remains standard. I also installed a high flow air filter. That's it. Still requires tuning. See earlier posts re AFC and the M35. Its booked in at Silverwater on Tuesday to investigate tuning by reprogramming the on board chip. m
  23. i would be interested to see the dyno figures My ARX makes 150 ATW with just a high flow cat and air filter.
  24. The standard suspension on an ARX makes it float like a boat. Way too soft. The Bilstein suspension upgrade option includes lower springs and the car I test drove was fine on speed bumps around Chatswood. I thought that just upgrading the shocks would leave the car still handling poorly and that since the kit has been specially designed for ARXs, it would be fine. I was partially right. - The package is great, the handling is much improved. I did not try it on speed bumps in shopping centres. So now I need to get it a little higher. - The circlip machining idea sounds promising. The purpose of the post is to warn others who may be thinking of taking the Bilstein option of what I see as a problem. mm
  25. Thanks for the circlip suggestion - unfortunately, mine is already on the highest settings. I will wait to see what Peddars want for their springs. m
