  1. turns out my car is now a write off, and i have the option of buying the wreck back. just gathering immediate interest, see if its worth buying the wreck. 1997 BLACK S1 RS260 73,000kms front end damage RB26DETT twin plate Exedy clutch Damaged crank pulley might be interested in selling the wreck as is, or parting out whole car. cheers, Nigel.
  2. wasn't my fault! haha. It will be back, tougher than ever.... while the car is off the road, the parts pile is ever increasing...
  3. correction: now only need Genuine Autech Grille and Front Bar (series 1)
  4. well i just went and stuck a magnet to the bonnet and the guards so they cant be aluminium :S now the search is on for a Autech front bumper skin.
  5. is there anyone out there in this wonderful world that might have access to a genuine S1 alloy bonnet, grille, or front bar? crash repairer is having a hard time trying to find part numbers for these items. anyone with FAST????
  6. what about guards too? i have a feeling that mine were alloy too??? anyone confirm this??
  7. can anyone confirm that the 260'scame with an aluminium bonnet and the RS4's were steel??
  8. no luck on the half cut, its got too much missing, and communication is an issue. guess i just sit tight and wait for the quotes to be tallied. Apparently the hold up is waiting for japan to reply with pricing.... having trouble sleeping, cos i dont know if it will be written off or not...
  9. yeh i did cheers, but the guy isn't replying very promptly via email. I managed to get a contact number but he doesn't answer his phone.
  10. for sure man. Just sent you a PM
  11. Nah I wasn't the homo with the blankie. That would be the lancer driver.
  12. yeh i have the option of buying the wreck, its written into my insurance policy. Hope it does'nt get to this stage tho
  13. Yeh I know it will never feel the same, but then again, I didn't buy this car for fanging around a track, i bought it for its uniqueness and its practicality. (ie: lugging 13 grand of race bikes around) And its in the middle of a mega audion install. I just want the car back so I can finish what I started, and have a use for the 8K of stereo gear I just organised.... They have 22k to play with due to the car being insured for 30k, so im pretty safe, it just depends on the availability of parts. I'm just waiting for Neil to reply with contact details about this 260 front cut
  14. cheers mate. Alan is already talking to Lakeside nissan, but i'll let him know. im praying that they dont write it off, but need to get the motor out for some reason
  15. Neil, I have just sent you a PM.
  16. cheers mate, might just need to take you up on that
  17. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sm...od-t272391.html yeh mate, im trying to help out the crash repairer in knowing what parts will be needed for the repair work. From what I've seen and what I have been told, it will need all the chassis from the strut towers forward. I'm assuming that a RS4 front cut will be ok, providing that all the correct holes are drilled and all the mounts are made for all the RB26 related gear. - All type crash built thier own custom Drift cars, so this shouldnt be too hard for them.
  18. After my nasty accident, the question has been raised about getting parts for my 260. Does anyone know what the differences are in the front end between a S1 RS4 and a S1 260RS?: Anyone with access to FAST would be my best friend right now So far the obvious ones are: Holes and brackets in the chassis for the front mount intercooler. different front bar, and grille. are the headlights different? I don't remember seeing a RS4 with black surrounds behind the lenses. are the front indicators different? are there much piping differences? any help greatly appreciated
  19. went and had another look at the car today, and talked to All Type Crash, as they are the ones doing the main quote. From what I have been told, it should NOT be a write off. Lucky for me, the dashboard is undamaged from the air bags, so there is a few grand saved off the quotes too. Now I sit and wait for the quotes to be compiled, and see if it comes in under budget. *crosses fingers*
  20. There is still a chance it wont be written off yet. Will find out the outcome tomorrow hopefully. And yes, Dynamat is a labour of love, I've spent over 38 hours installing it, and it is a one use application.
  21. none of the dynamat/wiring or any other prep work was covered
  22. pretty sure this project was all a waste of time, considering the car is due to be written off after an accident friday night
  23. I heard a rumour that the sale of this car was going to fund a new toy? Something along the lines of this:
  24. Its was definitely not my fault. I've had my crash repair mates look at it, sounds like its gonna be a write off. Does anyone know where I can get a front cut from an RS4 or 260RS? I don't want offers on parts either at this stage, so please refrain. Got monday off to deal with everything:
