  1. i've chosen really dim red 3mm leds for that exact reason. have also thought about the chaser circuit
  2. back on topic? neons are in the car now, and I've hooked them up to the loom behind the ignition barrel illumination, so they turn off once the car is started. photos coming soon.
  3. Photos will be up shortly, maybe tomorrow night. I've only just put the car back together. I had to jump start the car tonight because it hasn't been started in a fair while.
  4. Yeh for sure! i have seen ben's 260, yet to see nene's, seen adams and one other, but haven't seen any others that are modded.
  5. ok, ok! No Chrome handbrake and gearshift boots! you can stop spewing at the thought of it now
  6. Haha! Maybe chrome isn't the way to go then... I'm going shopping for material today, so I will see what I find. I think many of you will be pleasantly surprised with the overall outcome!
  7. what RPM does the car normally idle at? because i know after about 10mins, the revs drop on my stag, im thinking its some sort of automatic warm up program. does turning the Aircon on bump up the revs and make it idle smoother?
  8. Around 6 weeks ago, I made these: Being home from work sick, after having my tonsils taken out, I have been very bored lately with plenty of thinking and doing time... So I've decided to get busy with with even more modifications in the stag: Blue LED conversion for ALL dash lights. This included speedo cluster, climate control module, triple dash gauges, cigarette lighter socket and ignition barrel lights. Blue CCFL Tubes that highlight the footwells in the front of the car. Stealthy Hi/Lo boost switch for my Profec B Spec II, using the Wiper De-Icer switch in the dash. Red LEDs mounted in the "eyes" of the skulls on all door trims - Coming Soon. Blue CCFL Tubes in the door pockets of the front doors - Coming Soon. White LED interior lights. - Coming Soon. Re trimming the Gearshift and Handbrake boots with chrome leather - Coming Soon. Photos Coming Soon. Watch this space Comments, Suggestions and Ideas? Nigel.
  9. Did you miss this part? My car is in pieces at the moment, so I could not take a photo, so I just used this one that I had on my laptop.
  10. Agreed. Stageas are great for road trips! Glad all has gone safe and they are some great photos there mate!! They would make an awesome calendar or something! I picked my RS260 up from brisbane, and drove it all the way home to adelaide. Only issue i had was hitting a pile of dolomite in the middle of the road at 110kmh, small mark on the bumper, but didnt hit any animals thank god. drove it home unregistered, but with permits. 4 states in 23 hours, no plates, and i saw ONE cop car, 35kms from home. Got some funny looks whilst fanging it past trucks etc with no plates on. Nigel.
  11. Well tonight I had a fantastic idea. I wanted to hide my electronic boost controller (Profec B spec II) from the wrong eyes. A sort of set-and-forget attitude if you will. So I decided to wire up a Hi-Lo boost mode switch via the Wiper De-Icing Switch, located above the ignition barrel on the Stagea (S1). This not only is a conveniently located switch, but the dash remains entirely unmarked and keeps a factory appearance. Handy for when you don't want cops and theives looking around or asking questions. (I've been defected too many times with previous cars) It was a pretty straightforward modification, and only took me around 20 minutes. (plus dinner) Firstly I followed the steps for making a connector for the Profec B Spec II, in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sw...l=profec+switch But I then removed the De-Icing switch using a small flat bladed screwdriver, being carefull not to mark the surrouunding dash. Alternatively you could remove the switch from the back, by removing the neccessary panels (steering column covers then cluster surround) After unplugging the switch, I stripped back the loom shield, and cut ALL the wires leading into the plug. Using the BLUE and GREEN wires only, I soldered these to the WHITE (+5V) and BLACK (Ground) wires on the "headphone" cable that leads into the back of the Profec B Spec II. After taping up the loose wires and moving the Profec B Spec II into the coin tray, beneath the dash, I tested the switch and it all works fine. I do realise that cutting ALL the wires from behind the switch no longer allows the use of the Wiper De-Icer, but since when am I going to use that in Australia anyway? Make sure you tape up all the loose wires from behind the switch, or they might accidentally trip the Relay or possibly short out. I had considered wiring up the illumination bulb in the switch to show when hi-boost is selected, but realised that unfortunatelly the switch uses a shared ground with the Profec B Spec II and this would interfeer with the mode switching function. Heres a pic of where the switch is located (this is not my car) I will post up proper photos soon. Enjoy! Nigel.
  12. i was pretty sure it was bullS*%t. thanks guys!
  13. Just wired up my own Hi/Lo switch for my Profec B Spec II, and used the wiper de-icer switch above the ignition. For those with a R33, R34, or Stagea, its the Blue and Green wires that you hook up to Ground and +5V behind the switch. I think its the most stealthy way to switch between hi and low boost...using the factory dash switches
  14. sad to see it end this way! goodluck with the sale, free bump!
  15. i just read a interesting thing on the internet. "The 260RS's come out with steel wheels and shafts as factory, along with adjustable actuators. can anyone confirm or dismiss this? is it safe to run more than 14psi ???
  16. still got parts for sale dude? after a few little switches in the dash if u got them cheers
  17. hey guys, im after the wiper and the demister switch assemblies from a S1 stagea. these are the little items either side of the steering wheel. if possible after the plug that goes into the back of them as well. Willing to pay post to SA. Thanks, Nigel.
  18. i just finsihed my pod filter install on the RS260. Picked up 2x dual entry metal cap DRiFT pod filters from Autobarn, and some adapters and mounting straps. Got a 90'Deg bend and a few bits and pieces and its all in looking awesome. I ran a cold air feed with some flexi duct up from behind left hand indicator, up around the washer bottle, between the guard and the panel, and it feeds cold air directly onto the pods. Will post up pics when i remember. All up, cost me $186 for all materials, and took me about 2 hours to do. I used to have a mad CAI setup on my NA soobie which was setup for 104kw/wheels
