edit: Never mind (just repeated some of the stuff that's already been said) .. Tow it to a reputable skyline mechanic, air in the oil doesn't sound good at all. How do you see the bubles anyway (where?) ?
-
Try coppers ..they cost next to nothing and it's an easy DIY in under an hour. Leave them at the standard (1.1mm) gap before going lower. If you're making more than 300kw use 8s to be on the safe side, but regardless try the copper NGKs. I am NOT 100% sure but I believe I've read before about iridium plugs and skylines simply do not play well with each other.

datascan couldnt do it ..same issue as switching ignition to ON ie. only pumps a small amount then stops. I used Yavuz's (unigroup) suggestion which was to have the fuel return hose disconnected and run into a container .. start the car and run it until its out of fuel. Took about 10 mins with half a tank. Easy as I'm hoping the fuel filter picked up any nasty crap before it could clog my injectors. Anyway, fresh BPU in there and the car drove without any issues.

speak to Yavuz at Unigroup (www.unigroup.com.au) you won't find a single complaint about their work here.

I'm no expert but I've experienced the same sort of symptoms as you .. in my case it was the gap on the spark plugs ie. it was TOO LOW. Also from what I remember, iridiums + skyline = what you are seeing. I don't see why you couldn't use copper NGK, just colder type like 8s. Don't change the factory (1.1mm) gap unless you get missfire, then try going down to 1mm, test again, then .9 1mm was the sweet spot for my car where it stopped the weird shaking and 'bubbling' type of sounds that I got with 0.8mm spark plug gaps.

hm come to think of it I do have that nissan consult cable and some software somewhere ..wonder if any of those programs can be used to make the fuel pump run at full speed to empty the tank edit: yep looks like NIssan Datascan which I bought last year has a 'fuel pump' active test so that should do the trick ..will report tommorow

How do you short the fuel pump though ? I've already searched for "short the fuel pump skyline" and whatnot earlier today on teh google but came up with nothing useful

ok i've unplugged the fuel line on the fuel rail (just after the filter) and when switching the key to ON I can hear the fuel pump priming and it squirts about 50ml of fuel then stops At that rate I will have to switch on/off about 500 times which i'm sure would kill my fuel pump and battery and take ages .. Is there any way to get the fuel pump to keep sending fuel without stopping ??? I'm about to take the fuel filter off and see if it keeps flowing without the fuel filter on the line but somehow I doubt it ANYONE ?!?
-
I should add I have no way of getting under the car so whatever I do has to be through the engine bay right now

I bought one of those syphoning hoses with the jiggly ball at the end that u stick in the tank through the filler and jiggle (rather than suck on the hose) but it stops about half a metre in, i'm guessing there's some sort of protection mesh in there to stop junk from falling in to the fuel tank by accident. So the hose is out.. I've read that the fuel pump can do the job by simply unhooking one of the fuel lines and turning the key to the ON position and let the fuel pump spit it all out. But where do I unhook the fuel line ? It's an R34 GTT .. I can see the fuel line on the left hand side coming into the fuel filter .. do I disconnect it before the fuel filter or after and if so where ? Cheers Oh yeah ..car's been sitting in the garage for 6 months with half a tank of ultimate ..something stinks really putrid, I hope its just the fuel and not some small animal that made a home in there somewhere, lived a happy life and then DIED.

$1700 Fine And 6 Month Suspension ...yippee
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in New South Wales
if you have a valid drivers licence (unrestricted) and are over 25 don't you get a separate set of points for the bike licence part of it ? Or would I still have say 11 demerits on the bike licence if that's how many I have on the car licence ? -
My sincere advice would be to GET A GOOD LAWYER. The police have no evidence other than an off duty officers' word. This has a GOOD chance of being thrown out of court and you getting awarded all the lawyer costs if you play your cards right and with the help of a good traffic lawyer this should be easy considering the circumstances (no undeniable evidence of you committing the "crime") If you rock up to court by yourself it will be your word against the officers' and you will probably get slaughtered. A traffic lawyer would most likely find a case like this extremely easy to win.

$1700 Fine And 6 Month Suspension ...yippee
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in New South Wales
Supposed to get my licence back in a couple of weeks, court hearing a week later .. Going with a lawyer most likely. Re RTA stuff .. that's RTA and demerit points related, different to police suspension which starts immediately (I think). I too will be on 1 pt for a long time (18 months or so) if I'm found guilty so might just get a motorcycle licence once I have the car licence back. To the guy whose friend was doing 124 in 80 zone .. if he only received an infringement notice it's a 3 month suspension and 600 fine (plus 4-6 demerits) so in a way he was lucky because if it had been 126kmh he would acopped 6 month suspension and $1750 fine -
yeah I've seen a lot of shitboxes as well but some nice average looking ones .. oddly enough the 33s look slightly different than what you see in OZ, I don't quite understand that...
-
spotted an R32 and black R34 infront of Trevinos in Christchurch ... last friday oh yeah red R33 in Twizel next to gas station ..driven by a girl skylines seem a lot more popular in NZ as I've seen quite a few in a short time

Car Been Garaged For 2 Months ..do I Need To
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in General Maintenance
i wasnt gonna drive it yet (not until next months' texi) just wanted to let it run for a half hour or so to hopefully persuade all the spiders that have taken residence in and arund the engine bay to move the f*k out the furthest I can legally drive it right now is around the driveway which is about 10m long -
they shouldn't charge you even if it's 200l because afaik all the oils can be recycled ie. they get paid for it.

Car Been Garaged For 2 Months ..do I Need To
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in General Maintenance
whats all this about pulling the fuel pump fuse and cranking the engine ?? I dont get it. I thought fuel went rancid after a while that's why I was worried it might have lost its octane rating etc -
Basically I've lost my licence a couple of months ago and the car's been sitting in the garage since. Just before that I'd done an oil change and I still have half a tank of bp ultimate in it. just wondering if the fuel and/or oil would have gone bad in the 2 months it has been sitting ? I don't want to damage anything by firing up the engine now.. And yes the battery went flat but that was an easy fix (recharged overnight) so I just need to know about the fuel and oil ..are they safe to use after 2 months of sitting in the car?

whoever you go with make sure they also put the car up on the hoist and look over the underbody .. check for the mthfkn RUST, most inspectors won't bother or be able to check for rust on the underbody so I'd be making sure it goes up on a hoist and go over it carefully.
