  1. Good points all of them BUT I'd seriously rather sell the skyline and buy a corolla than drive timidly and think about fuel all the time. It's a sports car, if you can't afford the fuel maybe stick to something less sporty.
  2. you still keep your standard plastic lense (the red bit) and insert the bulbs inside
  3. I've stuck with my old battery .. after that overnight recharge it hasn't gone flat again. Fingers crossed..
  4. ok found these SMDs elsewhere ..how come these look so different?
  5. I'm sure 20 LEDs will do the trick... we're not trying to blind everyone, just replace the normal single bulb with equivalent or better LED light Besides ..the 32/48s look a bit too 'busy' for my liking and they cost more. Just try to picture how small the lens is ..20 LEDs is surely enough
  6. stock tail lights are def do-able as there's a guy in japan (yahoo auctions again) that sells nismo-lookalikes, basically stockies with leds inserted into them. Having said that, I've just recently taken a look myself when I was replacing mine with the eastbear copies .. and the lens is glued on there with some sort of silicone + clips all around, so it'd be a bitch to remove. But maybe with some patience and a spare set to fall back to ..why not try. But then you still have to do the whole leds thing....arrrg. Might be cheaper just to sell the stockies and buy the ones from japan which came to about $600 delivered iirc. But honestly ..the eastbear copies on ebay.com.au look tops too. I just painted my blinkers orange (as I don't like clear plastics) ..at first I wasn't so fond of the bling but it's grown on me and I could never go back.
  7. I'm sure there are shops that specialize in bling like this but they'd charge you a ton to get all that done .. just do it yourself, one by one like I did Not entirely sure led blinkers (front/side) would look good. I mean they blink ..for a second, then they don't blink ..then blink again. Not like you could tell the difference between an LED and normal blinkers. I have the smoked nismo blinkers on the side/front and they look tops and do the job
  8. just to clarify ..this GB is for the '20 LED' version as in the photo. And as I said before, the colour in above photo MAY not be accurate - it's most likely overexposed and the real-life colour is darker (red) jrm is in I think .. 3 more to go guys.
  9. I bought those led strips off ebay a few weeks ago as I was gonna do this ..still haven't gotten around to it, mainly because it's a major pain in the ass.. Basically you gotta take you whole front bar off to be able to reach a couple of bolts under the headlights. Remove the entire headlight housing ... bake the headlights in an oven carefully so the glue starts melting (you can use a heatgun too apparently) so that you can pry off the lense off each. Then insert the leds and reseal the lens back using an appropriate sealant..put everything back together and ta-da. Obviously you will need to connect the wires to a 12V source but that should be a trivial matter for any sparky.. Having said that ..I reckon the one in the photo above has too many leds too close together .. fewer LEDs with more space between each would look more awesome. Perhaps even curving them upwards near the parkers..
  10. Please refer to this thread, do not post here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ds-t280301.html Thanks Ps. apologies if double posting is not allowed, please remove. Just thought I'd post here as it gets way more visitors than the GB section.
  11. GB here be quick guys http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ds-t280301.html
  12. Ok, I've decided to organize a GB for the R34 bootlid brake light LEDs as pictured below. They are easy to install and this initial group buy will end on FRIDAY 24th of JULY at about 6 PM. The GB won't go ahead unless there are 5 confirmed payments by then. The price will be $67 (with min. 5 confirmed buyers) or $60 if we can get 10 buyers before friday. This price includes delivery to you in a padded envelope. The items are ordered via importmonster.com.au through the Yahoo Japan auctions and this is the seller there: http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g81202991 Please post here if interested and if you can make a payment by friday. Also, item is displayed below but I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the colours as they're always hard to capture on camera but I suspect they look fine IRL and very similar to what you can see in the photo. No warranty provided either - please buy only if you can risk getting a non functional item and lose your $67 (just covering my ass in case some/all of the items arrive faulty ..althought I highly doubt that) According to the seller, these are made to order and can take about a week to be manufactured. So I'd say if we place an order on friday, they should be here by mid-august at the latest. Any questions, please ask here don't PM unless it's to confirm payment or to get my bank details. Cheers
  13. Were they the .8mm pregapped ones ?? I had misfire at idle too with .8mm. Regapped them to 1mm and no more misfire at any rpm... If you can't be bothered regapping, might be easier/cheaper just to buy a new set (what is it like 10 euro for 6?) of the ones that come with 1.1mm gap and try those, I suspect they'll work just fine if the old ones were 1.5mm.
  14. cool I was just looking into doing a GB and it'd come to about $60 if I could get 10 interested people but if you can do it cheaper, even better Any ideas when you might be able to bring these in ? How hard would it be to connect them all together to fill the entire length of the light I'm tempted to do a GB on these ones above anyway just cause they look so awesome Fark it I'll do a GB and see what happens if there's not enough interest you'll know it's a waste of time for you to bother with them too.
  15. ^^ so most likely simply the wrong heatrange (a 5?) Try a 6 or heatrange 7 if above 200rwkw..
  16. ahh ok I thought that might be the case. It's ok I already have factory HIDs ... just bought some led parkers from Dan on these forums and they look a bit wimpy (don't fill the whole parker) ..a bit like this one really. The lights seems too focussed in one tiny spot, unlike the standard (yellow) globes which fill it completely. I guess that's the issue with LEDs.. Thanks mate
  17. Ok this is probably an extremely retarded question...but could you please clarify which one of these in the photo (red or blue) is the parker light that you're selling?
  18. I reckon a lowered R34 with a nice body kit that gives you a nice chunky look goes great without a spoiler ... a standard suspension height and/or no bodykit 34 looks a bit ghey without the wing. I'm trying to source a 2nd bootlid without a wing myself and will swap them around when I get bored of a particular look.
  19. I'd stick with the 17s too but I'd swap those for some nicer wheels in any case Just put some really good rubber on it and transform the car .. bigger rims will just give ya a harsher ride and worse handling. Gojira is smaller and lighter than all the other skylines so weighing it down with some cheap 18s would be kinda silly imo.
  20. awesome rims, awesome cars but I reckon 18's are too big for an S15 .. looks a bit tryhard. I'd stick with 17s on an S15 but that's me.
  21. It's amazing how nice the V35's look from the sides and rear and how f**king unbelievably ugly they made the front (did they reuse maxima half cuts for the front ??) The interior is super nice too. So if I had a V35 I'd do something about that front no matter what anyone else says .. but then I'd never buy a V35 as it lacks oomph..and that hideous front ..oh and it's not really a skyline
  22. being an R33 I'd seriously doubt the car has done less than 100k-120k kms realistically. Mine came with 65k on the odo and it's an R34 and I have a feeling it's done atleast 100k as there's lifter noise (although I've masked that with thicker oil) If you want a piece of mind just get a compression/leakdown test done but if the car pulls nicely, doesn't use oil or blow smoke it's probably fine. Ps. I hope you've put some decent plugs this time ..NGK copper plugs are the shizzit for RBs ..cheap and last a year on average. Get them in the .8mm gap size if you get any missfire.
  23. now you're just talking out of your ass ..read your own damn link. 35% is LEGAL. 70% is 'DESIRABLE' ie. irrelevant as it's just some paper pushers personal opinion or so it would seem.
