ok all sounds very simple and I assume the wiring kit will have an inline fuse on the positive cable that goes to the amp .. just another couple of Qs please 1) how's the sub powered? Does it require its own power connection? 2) when you say 'bridge speakers for sub' what do you mean precisely 3) when I run the RCAs and power cables thru cabin should I keep the RCAs seprate from the power cables ? Will running them along the same door sill cause interference/noise ? Should I run RCAs on say passenger side and power on driver side? Thanks

that ebay one is 200W which is the same as what I was originally quoted for with a $2k setup from a pro shop..plus I'm not doing anything to the fronts so should be plenty of bass fill dontcha think? $100 means I can stop dreaming and have atleast something ..because my only other option for the next 6-12 months atleast is to have no bass at all how long do you reckon it would take a pro to instal the cabling for the ebay setup? just the amp/sub? access to headunit outputs is easy..
-
while I'd prefer that it blows the cost of the setup way out as all the cabling would need to be done properly .. Am leaning towards that pioneer kit on ebay, $120 and has the full wiring kit ... can't be that bad. I just want to be able to hear some bass, don't need anything better for the fronts tbh..

maybe Steve just isn't interested in all the hassle of manging that GB cause it sounds like a pita to be honest. I've PMed him about the repairer ..will post WHO it is if he tells me. Cheers

Any Recommendations For A Smash Repairs For Skylines?
Wacky Dee replied to rance's topic in New South Wales
prestige motor sport did a good job on my rear bumper paintjob ... I'm sure they do good repairs too and they specialize in imports (always a ton of skylines out front) -
if I were to get something like this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Pioneer-12-Sub-and-...%3A1%7C294%3A50 ...it's pretty cheap, $100 so can't really go wrong because if it sounds like shit it's only $100 down the drain. But anything sounds better than no bass so ... anyway, to my question ... How hard would it be to wire this thing in without frying my electrical system? Would a pro need to install it? What's needed ..Does it connect straight to the fuse box with a massive fuse or how's it work ?

looking for some doof doof on the cheap as I don't have the money to do it properly ... so I'm just going for a 12" sub with a matching mono amp with custom enclosure. So I'm looking for someone's sloppy seconds in good nick, preferrably nothing from local corner store but entry level 'good shit' ie. american sub preferrably not yumcha or jap. All I want is a 12" sub that sounds good and has a custom enclosure to suit a skyrine no more than 200 Watts RMS (currently have 0W RMS so 200 is more than plenty) with matching sub and custom enclosure (over-the-counter enclosure is fine if it sounds good) Looking to spend no more than $300-350 for the sub/amp/box. Cheers

hm I'm gonna have to stop by one of those places that sell skylines on para rd and check them out ... I'm pretty sure it's normal to have a small gap, I just can't see how it would have formed otherwise. On the far side inside the gap you can see where the water supposed to drain ..there's some sort of sponge there.
-
they were resisting removal so ended up shattered and in the bin, sorry ... if it's any consolation, they're pretty useless as they were small and look like shit
-
dude your windscreen sticker does look too low ..in fact I don't think I've ever seen one that big. I reckon half that size would be OK
-
lol at spam ..obviously some sort of bot used to sell that cd ripping software ..he's probably posted the same crap on hundreds of other forums. Sad how some people will take advantage of anything to make a buck.

guys when i install a sub with a mono amp I don't need any special (heavy gauge) wiring for anything but the sub/amp right ?? I just dont wanna melt my electrical system
-
thanks mate anyone closer to the city?

just recently took off my factory weather shields and there's a 5-7mm gap along the top of the door between door and roof. The rubber seal does not sit flush against the roof. I'm not sure if this is normal or due to the weathershields which used to cover the whole thing. If someone who has had no weathershields at any point could take a couple of snaps of their roof rubber seals that run along the front doors and post them here that'd be appreciated, cheers

or how about just dark tint fading from really dark to light .. like some cars have from the factory ?? who can do that for me? I just want the top 10-15cm or so covered...

hey charlie where abouts are ya? do you sell audio gear or work in the indust at all ? I'll give you a call next week sometime would love to get some bass pumping soon.. I wouldnt mind 2nd hand gear at all as long as its not dodgy and works as I can probably get better stuff that way ..ie someones whos upgrading from entry level 'good shit' and wants to get rid of their amp/sub

its rare to see so much justice dished out in one week without the good guys getting bent isn't it? gotta enjoy it while it lasts ... maybe the nsw judges have gone to a LIVEINTHEREALf**kENWORLD seminar or something and finally saw the light ...one hopes
-
any pics? but yeah i was thnking just a black thing ... not red dammnit .. not like a solid line but a fade top to bottom (little squares or something) Just wanna keep it simple and nonnasty and reduce my visibility as much as possible without offending mr po-po

well ..I've been to the pros and I know how much a decent setup costs (close to $2k for entrylevel) but I just can't see it happening any time soon due to lack of funds.. In the meantime .. I have no doof doof whatsoever (BASS) so I was wondering if it's actually POSSIBLE to get some friggin bass for under $500 ? As in mono amp ..(just for the sub) and cabling for the sub .. I'm OK with the quality of my fronts and tweeters for now but I HAVE NO FRIGGIN BASS GODDAMMIT! I had my front doors done properly with dynamat and decent fronts/tweeters but the whole thing is still just running off a $150 headunit and I HAVE NO BASS GOD DAMMNIT!!! anyway .. am I totally barking up the wrong tree or is it even remotely feasible to have an elcheapo (BUT NOT NASTY) sub/enclosure put in my boot with a non-nasty but cheap monoamp so that I can have SO GOD DAMN BASS!?!@? I realize I won't get anything special but I just want to hear some friggin bass when I play my music Would heavy guage cabling just for the sub suffice if I only want a monoamp to power the sub or do I HAVE TO upgrade all my speakers cabling? I'm happy to run the fronts off the shitty kenwood headunit JUST WANT SOME DAMN DOOF DOOF Ok before I emberass myself anymore in this drunken state I shall leave you with those questions to ponder on and please put the flamethrowers away I KNOW how much it costs to do the whole shebang properly I just cant afford it and the lack of doof-doof is driving me nuts its like listening to an IPOD

it's a black 34 with very dark tints (factory privacy glass on rear quarter and rear and soon 10-15% sides) ... looking for some tasteful windscreen decal (just the legal top 20cm or whatever it is) but I can't come up with anything... don't want anything fancy ..just wanna reduce the size of the windscreen and block out that top 20cm or so ... any suggestions? don't want cheesy looking banner ads for some workshop or similar Post pics or links if you can.. I'm in Sydney so any shops that specialize in this sort of thing would be good too
-
bloody rip off ... you can buy a random orbiter and some heavy cut polish, wet sand the lenses a bit with a fine sandpaper (4000 grit or so) ... Same result in < 1 hour and you will have a RO to keep and some money left over as well. Maybe I'm just mad cause mine are f*ked from the inside

ok did a bit of research and yeah when the warning level that you set is reached they're supposed to go flash RED... Anyway, whoever wants all 3 of these $200 incl. FREE POSTAGE! I'm making more than $100 loss in 2 days just cause I'm anal about the colour I want ... so please take advantage of me before I change my mind! First with the money gets them. Would prefer pickup (Sydney) but will post austwide at my expense. Only one of the gauge packages was opened to inspect quality of the gauge and they're fricken awesome!
