  1. the leds are on the outside? whaaaat ... take a piccie during the day please, close up. Where'd you get the LEDs ? You gonna put them on the inside ?
  2. great work on the LEDs .. please tell us what they are and how you did it !
  3. stock bonnets aren't expensive ..I've seen quite a few range from $100-300 both here on SAU and various skyline shops (as a lot of people trade theirs in when getting an aftermarket one) so if you eve get defected ... but having said that, why not just keep your stock bonnet just in case? Whatever you do please don't get one of these stick-on fake ztune vents ..it just looks tacky and ghey and brings shame to your village..
  4. hm eastbear lip dropped in price quite significantly over the last 3-4 months ..only about $700 delivered now ...tempting. Just how sturdy is this "FRP" material ? Is it easy to fix like fibreglass in case it cracks ? Cheers
  5. where are you located? I love the look of this seat...just wondering what it's like size-wize as I'm a pretty big guy (2m tall and a bit on the heavy side) The price of the rails is pretty disgusting tho ..$500 delivered from Nengun, wtf..
  6. thanks mate
  7. its a very nice unit ..have you tried Ebay? Way more potential buyers than SAU
  8. yeh I've decided to keep mine ..love the way they look etc just don't have the $1k needed for a pro install (incl. new black carpets throughout) Which color did you go with Dan any pics ?
  9. any free software that works with the usb consult cable ?? I'm thinking of getting a Nisture chip down the road so I might just get this usb consult from http://www.plmsdevelopments.com They sell the Nistune software too but right now I don't need it as I'm not getting the car retuned just yet..
  10. does anyone know if the instructions posted above by "R 2 THE J" also apply for R34 GTT and if not, does anyone know how to do it in an R34 GTT ? Cheers
  11. so what does resetting the ecu do then ? I thought by resetting it the ECU "learns" how much air is needed (AFRs) accross the rpm range etc Confused...
  12. There are 2 methods of resetting the ECU apparently ..disconnecting the battery and pressing brakes for a couple of mins or shorting the fusebox with a wire (according to Nissan workshop manual) .. I'm assuming both methods do the same thing. What do you mean by lean fuel? AFRs ? I don't think I'm running lean .. I believe my AFRs are about 11.5:1 which is what you tuned it at. I checked the AFRs again about 6 months ago on the dyno and they were still the same. But as I said, I was getting the crap fuel economy even BEFORE you remapped the ecu ..and remapping didn't change the fuel economy. Anyway, my question is .. will resetting the ECU erase the AFRs/ignition timing that you tuned ? ie. will I lose my remap tune by resetting the ECU ?
  13. hey Toshi quick Q for ya ... you remapped my GTT about a year ago, pretty happy with it but I've always (even before your remap) had crappy fuel economy. So I just got a new Nissan o2 sensor installed but I've been told I need to reset the ECU for it to learn everything again and send correct air in etc. If I reset my ECU, will I lose the tune that you've set up for me ie. AFRs and timing ??
  14. so umm .. changing the o2 sensor without resetting ECU would not do much good eh ? Because I have a remapped ECU with a special daughterboard installed ... would resetting the ECU make me lose my tune ie. AFRs and timing set by the tuner, when the ecu was remapped ??
  15. had mine changed the other day ..genuine Nissan one, no difference 18l/100kms lol Time to try the AFM..
  16. does it come with rails to suit an R34 GTT ? what's the model / size if known ?
  17. most ...pointless ...thread...EVER. And I'm in it too, WOOHOO! Seriously some of the crap that goes on SAU .. I don't know why the mods allow it. Calling an admin a "top bloke" ? Wow, big words. BAN BAN BAN. Clean this place up.
  18. I don't think ECUs make noise ... as has been suggested, check your stereo setup .. I had new speakers with a crossover box installed recently and noticed the same sort of whine, apparently it was picking up engine/alternator noise. They just moved the crossover box a bit and it went away.
  19. just a quick question ... had the slotted rotors fitted recently on my GTT and the mofos are already rusting up (surface rust) pretty badly... I realize this is normal, but I was wondering if there's any known safe remedy to slow down or prevent the rusting of the rotors ? Obviously the surface where the pads contact isn't rusty just the rest of it..
  20. which coilovers though? There are so many different ones. I hear Tein's Superstreet (Aust Spec) are awesome. Shame I'd been convinved to get Bilsteins + stock springs when i was changing mine .. not happy with this setup (too rough a ride)
  21. so if I came to you for a tune and wasn't 100% happy with it, I should just come to the forums and bag you out instead of talking to you first ??
  22. Nps ...looks a bit tacky though IMO, would be much better with dark RED leds .. I'm not sure why they went with those bright ones
  23. Ok did quite a bit of research on the ones above and they're 100% NOT Nismo ...just genuine BNR34 tail lights converted to LED made to look similar to the Nismo pattern. The seller makes a pair about once a month and sells them on Japanese Yahoo auctions and he's confirmed in one of the previous sales (questions from potential buyers) that the item is NOT Nismo. http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e92629491 Pretty cheap if you're in Japan and may be worthwhile considering the price of the genuine Nismos ... but not worth importing to Australia IMO as it comes to about $500-600 at least with all the fees. Might be easier/cheaper to get someone to make this sort of conversion locally...
  24. don't think the ones above are the Nismo LEDs but a copy of some sort called "Akira Makoto".. I think they're just BNR34 tail lights with LEDs inserted ..which is why they look a bit funny and not as good as the Nismos...
  25. r33 and r34 brakes commonly feel very soft at the top ... apparently the master cylinder is just too small according to a few people I spoke to. I've had my brakes bled today (new rotors and pads also) and it's still soft at the top ... like 2-3cm is just mud.. apparently common on 33's and 34's.
