R34 Gt-t Leatherette Seat Covers
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
extra material is in so it's all ready to go .. I had a lot of PMs and calls about it but no buyer yet. What did everyone blow their $K900 already ?? Cmon guys ..brand new covers, front and back and extra material (2sq metres) for the inserts at front and rear. Same covers cost $700+ from the supplier with a farken wait of several months! -
the one with the slanted part is not actually Nismo although most people call it Nismo .. it's the Nissan "altia" factory option kit..

R34 Gtt Rotors
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
No 30mm and 18mm is the stock thickness ..28/16 is minimum. I have no idea what they are now as there's no way to reliably measure them as you'd need one of those vernier calipers to do so, but they need to be measured after machining anyway. I was told they should be fine after machining as they've never been machined before and you can usually machine the same discs once or twice. Upgraded to the RDA stuff .. cost me close to $800 incl labour, hoping to get a better brake feel .. but not to be. Same mushy brakes as before .. if I were to do it all over again i'd honestly just have the stockies machines as there's no difference in brake feel. -
I'm trying to find the cause of my bad fuel economy and even though we tested the AFM the ecu codes say it's working fine ... but the mechanic reckons it could still be dodgy. So I have no choice but to try another AFM so I need a stock (pink label?) AFM off a R34/R33 that is 100% working ... I know a lot of you guys upgrade to Z32s so if anyone has a fully functional stock AFM please let me know. Would prefer someone in Sydney. Cheers Denis

hey mate I have that rear bar (but not for sale as its on my car) Got it from carmate.com.au - fittment was PERFECT no gaps anywhere etc but iirc it was the last one they had so if they bring in a new batch it may not be so perfect ..thought I'd let you know anyway. If you do get it from them, under no circumstances get them to paint it for you ..they botched mine completely and it had to be resprayed at my expense.

R34 Gtt Rotors
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
from memory they're 30mm fronts and 18mm rears .. haven't been machined before. Also please keep in mind PICKUP ONLY guys ..these things weigh a ton and shipping would be way too expensive. Edit: For sizes, please check this chart it shows size of rotors and thickness for most car makes incl. Skylines: http://www.dba.com.au/2006/PDF_CATALOGUE/C...ue_01102008.pdf -

upgraded my rotors recently and have the stockies for anyone that wants a cheap replacement ... they're lipped but I've been told can be machined no probs (about $15 per disc) To fit an R34 GT-T .. not sure about other makes/models. SYDNEY pickup up ONLY (due to weight). Price: $150 Location: Camperdown, Sydney (near city/newtown)

not sure if this will help since you seem to know a lot more but here goes anyway ..from all my readin on SAU, the general consensus regarding the iridiums is that they're rubbish and don't work too well in Skylines .. get the copper NGKs. Also from my personal experience (R34 GTT), NGK coppers gapped to .8mm were missing in the lower revs (constantly) and upping the gap to 1mm fixed that and no more missing anywhere.. Also stick with heatrange 7 NGKs .. I just switched to 6s and my fuel economy took a dive (15-20% worse than with 7s)

I have the same issue (and car) being 2m tall .. I do find however that depending on how I tuck my ass in and how the seat is reclined, I can vary from 0cm clearance to roof lining to 5cm so try and adjust the back and your seating position a bit, it may help. Either that or a sunroof + helmet
-
since you're in brissy go with DMD ..from memory they're up there too and they have a much better rep than carmate. The fittment on my carmate rar bar was perfect ..side skirts were about 90% BUT the paintjob was an absolute shocker...

The New Soft Brake Pedal Thread.
Wacky Dee replied to Abo Bob's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If that's $180 from Nissan I'm sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere. For example, the OEM master cyl is $420 delivered from RHDjapan.com This is for a genuine OEM master for an R34 GTT. The problem is labour involved in rebuilding is about $300. For me the master cylinder isn't a major issue as all it's doing is making the brake sink slowly when pressed in ..about .5cm every 10 seconds. This doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is the mushiness and initial travel of the brake pedal.. -
R34 Pop-up Screen To Triple Gauge Conversion

sounds like a pita ..might be cheaper to get those autoguage aftermarket guages and just pay a sparky to wire them in -
R34 Pop-up Screen To Triple Gauge Conversion
Wacky Dee replied to R-SPEC's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I've also converted my Xanavi TV unit to the triple guages but the're not connected/powered because the Xanavi harness doesn't match the triple guages obviously... If anyone knows an auto sparky in Sydney who can wire this up properly so that the triple guages work please let us know. I know I need to get the harness from Nissan and the part number .. Someone mentioned a boost sensor is also needed, does anyone know the part number for it? -
I got my GTT through them about a year ago ... they were VERY pleasant to deal with prior to handover etc but I've had a bad experience overall. Paid them $500 for a timing belt change thinking they'd do it locally in their shop but they were busy and gave it to someone else without telling me. Anyway, turns out the other place that did it are a bunch of idiots who couldn't reset my base timing back to 15 degrees and left it at like 5 degrees or something like that, which caused me a lot of wasted time trying to find out why the car ran sluggish. Oh and at the last moment they stiffed me on new seat covers (the leatherette style ones). When I purchased the car I noticed an ad in the local paper where they offered the free covers with every skyline purchased that month. So I asked them if I'd get this too and they said YES, no worries... then when I came to pick up the car the guy I was dealing with up to that point wasn't even there and just told the other guy who was there giving me the car "NOPE".. His excuse was piss weak "those covers cost me $500 each and you only saw the ad AFTER you already decided to buy the car" .. Then tried to sell them to me for $400 cash. Pretty much he thought I'd leave the cash deposit that I had on the car to get the covers and I told them nope, that's ok you keep the frigging covers just give me my deposit back. Well I hope that was worth it because everyone can read about it now Overall I'd say it's worth checking out their skyline stock but be weary ..they're car salesman afterall and will stiff ya if they can. Another place worth checking out would be Edward something on Paramatta Road Concord ..just near the M4 exit. I drive past there often and they have a LOT of 34s in stock all the time. Last time I drove past they had 5-6 really nice 34s at decent prices.
-
It would probably be cheaper and easier to just replace the whole cluster .. I've seen them on sale for as low as $100
-
Most likely because if you leave it at uni parking for 2 months there's a good chance it will get stolen within the first week. To be honest, it really doesn't sound to me like you're ready to own a skyline, no offence.

R34 10th Anniversary Charity Cruise N Show N Shine
Wacky Dee replied to mxfly's topic in Events Archive
Thanks for organizing the cruise, we had a bit of fun and it was good to be out and see so many nice cars on the day. Shame about the weather though .. I froze my ass off after "volunteering" my jacket to a silly girl that came in very light clothing .. luckily we still had a blanket to wrap ourselves in. Note to self - bring extra warm clothing whenver going to the mountains next time, even if its sunny. -
R34 Gt-t Leatherette Seat Covers
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I somehow doubt that since I've been quoted $1400 for the same covers to be installed by Proseat. The cost of the covers itself and extra materials is more than $700 unless the price magically halved overnight or something. Their installation/labor costs are still atleast $700 as I've been quoted by 2 upholsterers here in Syd ($600 and $700) for install. But if you really did get 'custom covers' installed for $700 that's a really good price and good for you. I'd be a bit curious how you got that price though when they've quoted me $1400 for the same. Edit: just a word of warning about Proseat though ... It's been more than 3 months now and they still haven't given me the extra material I paid for. Phone ringing off the hook and emails not replied. There might be something dodgy going on and I'd be a bit suspicious about that price. I wouldn't pay anything upfront if I were you - just a friendly warning. -
The New Soft Brake Pedal Thread.
Wacky Dee replied to Abo Bob's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'll ask my mechanic about the abs modulator ... can trapped air in the abs cause this sort of soft pedal feel? I get a feeling this is a common issue on skylines and there's still no definitive answer as to best way of going about fixing it (best = not spending unnecessary dough like master if not needed) -
The New Soft Brake Pedal Thread.
Wacky Dee replied to Abo Bob's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah that's what my mechanic said too but to me that slow sinking is not a major concern as I don't go down long hills too often where I need to hold the brakes for so long... However, would a stuffed master cylinder also cause the soft feel up top? Reason I'm asking is, I don't want to spend $500+ on the master cylinder if it's only gonna fix that slow sinking issue. I've read in previous posts that people replaced their master and still had the soft pedal feel... So I'd much rather get the calipers and pistons reconditioned if they are more likely to give me what I'm after ie. better pedal feel up top and none of the spongy crap.
