Shitty Series 1 R34 Interior Plastic Paint
Wacky Dee replied to 666DAN's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
yeah I was gonna say the same ..camera flash brings out all the little imperfections and pretty much any interior no matter the colour looks shit with a flash, but still I'd done clear over black and didn't like it myself so re-did it. Hopefully getting my car back today so I'll take a couple of shots of my handy work -
Changing Tail Light Bulb For Led: Red Or White?
Wacky Dee replied to cobrAA's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
one single LED won't be anywhere nearly as bright as an incandescent bulb through the same lense cover... that's why the aftermarket LED tail lights use 10+ LED bulbs in different formations eg. circle -
you must have had some really good fibre glass front bar then because most of the fg bars I see nowadays are so thin and brittle incl. my rear bar, it wouldn't take much of an impact to shatter them into a million pieces. I'm sure the eastbear item is as good as fibreglass stuff goes but I still can't see how it's the best solution for something like a lower lip that's guaranteed to scrape and get hit on parking blocks, driveways etc There must be a reason why the lip they made for the eastbear frontbars is made out of plastic.
-
By the way, not sure if it's obvious from the photos ... the spokes are 'shadow silver' while the lip is chrome and the centre caps are silver/chrome so they look really hot. Wheel nuts are NOT included and you may require hub rings .. I got my hub rings from a local tyres shop for $10 and the wheels fit perfectly (no movement whatsoever) with the hub rings attached to the hub centre.

FREE BONUS: R34 GT-T plastic pods/mudguards worth about $100. They're black (GV1) and were a factory option - look really great if you don't have a bodykit. For sale are 4 x DTM Rush Shadow Silver wheels, size on all 4 is 18 x 8.5" with +35 offset, suits an R34 GTT perfectly. Colour matches really good with a black car, but would look sweet on pretty much any skyline. The tyres are Maxxis MA-Z1 Victra which retail at $300+ and have only done 3,000 Kms so are 'as new'. These tyres won a few awards beating some of the higher-end $500 rubber. For more info on the tyres check out http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLight-Truc...-Z1-Victra.aspx Very minor gutter rush on 1 or 2 of the rims .. I will take photos when I get the car back in the next day or 2. Reason for selling, I want wider rims and don't want to go down the 'wheel spacers' route unless I absolutely have to. Cost $2500+ if you buy the rims and tyres brand new, selling for $2,000 only - they've only done 3,000Kms and are in an excellent condition. I will post photos of my car when I get it back, but in the mean time here's a piccie of the rim itself (without tyre) and of another member's R34 with the same wheels (DTM Rush Shadow Silver). on Doski's black R34 GT-T... I will update with my own car piccies in next couple of days when I get the car back from the shop. By the way, my R34 is a daily driver so it was never raced and rarely even sees the highway as I work from home. Use this wheel offset calculator to see how the wheels would fit on your car: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

they don't sell eastbear ... not that I can see anyway. The only place I'm aware of is powerplayimports but they have no stock of the R34 GTT front lips. One thing I just found out today is that the eastbear 'prior term bumper lip' is actually FIBRE GLASS ... it's not plastic like the same lip made for the eastbear GTS-R front bumper. Who the hell wants a FRP lip that's going to scrape and crack in no time. I always wanted the eastbear lip because I thought it was made from plastic The one I want (and thought it was plastic, but it's not): http://www.nengun.com/east-bear/front-spoi...ior-term-bumper and this is the one they make in plastic but it only fits the eastbear front bumper: http://www.nengun.com/east-bear/front-spoiler-r34-type-1

Nissan Factory Tail Lights
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
still for sale -
hmm I'll have to try different brand next time then .. but that wont be for another couple of years I reckon. I thought the Maxxis MAZ1's were pretty decent according to some reviews. I think some mag said they were better than some of the top-end tyres that cost like $450 a piece. Cars been in the shop for a while ..havent had much chance to drive it since upping the tyre pressure. Will see how that goes first.. Thanks all for the suggestions

18x9.5+30 On R34 Gtt
Wacky Dee replied to ashneel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Use this calculator ..it shows you exactly what will happen with new rim size and offset. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp And this is what 18x9.5 +35 looks on a GTT http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/po...-287-131149.jpg And just another quick note ... do not go below offset of +28 as that will make your wheeltrack illegal and your car's suspension etc will suffer. and to answer your original question, if you use the calculator, you'll notice that 18x9.5+30 will give you an extra 5mm inner clearance but 5mm outside width than +35 ie. the rubber will stick out 0.5cm more than on the one pictured above which I think is pushing it as it is. -
18x9.5+30 On R34 Gtt
Wacky Dee replied to ashneel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
factory wheels are 17x7.5 +40 so 18x9.5 +35 is the widest you'd wanna go for the rears and that WILL be sticking out a little bit from under the guards but not too much. Don't go 9.5 fronts that will look just lame and could get you busted, 8.5" fronts looks good. -
Group Buy: R33 Gtst And R34 Gtt Cold Air Box Cover
Wacky Dee replied to ashneel's topic in Group Buys
how hard was it to fit one of these on a GTT with stock piping (SMIC) ? -
they're just clearance items they have in stock ... so if you like any of those colour combos, I'd suggest you get it there because its cheaper AND faster (when you custom order wait is approx 3 weeks) eg. they only have one set for the R34 GTT in factory colours ie. meh.

18x9.5+30 On R34 Gtt
Wacky Dee replied to ashneel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
+35 is what you want in that width I'm pretty sure. -
yeah but it doesn't look as good apparently ah well .. I'll try it without taking factory skins off and see what it looks like

R34 Gtt Cluster Measurements Required
Wacky Dee replied to ashneel's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I would suggest just getting a cluster as you'll need it to test the size anyway .. I'd hate to buy something for > $100 only to find it's a few mm off. Oh and I just happen to have an R34 spare cluster for sale LOL It's off an R34 GTR but the measurements/size is exactly the same. $80 and it's yours. -
its amazing how good the factory nissan wheels look on a black R34 .. I say, either get some reeeeeallly nice wheels or stick with those So many people spend money on aftermarket wheels (myself included) that don't look anywhere as good as the stockies
-
I've checked that moulded carpet place and they don't have a mould for the R34 .. plus their moulds are without any holes so a lot of work is involved as you have to cut the centre console/handbreak holes etc Might as well take it to this trimmer and get him to make one up on the spot.. probably not much more than $200 anyway
-
I spoke to a guy at uticolour ..who are apparently the top carpet dying company ... and he recommended I just get new carpets installed instead - he reckoned it'd look a lot better. I've still gotta get the number off him for a trimmer that he recommended .. I'll let you know what I get quoted.

awesome ... but it'd be just that much more awesome in just about any other colour (silver, grey, blue or black) - not a fan of white myself
