that's a really sweet line ... damnit, I just spent nearly $2k on a body kit and the car doesn't look nowhere near as hot as this one without a bodykit of any kind! Oh and silver truly is the best colour .. as much as I like my black 34 it is truly and I mean TRULY a complete pain in the ass to keep clean. Whenever I wash it, it rains the next day ... maybe I could sell some rain to needy farmers by washing my car and traveling to drought areas. Farking hell man that's a HOT ride .. its amazing how good it looks and it doesn't even have a bodykit!!! Now you're making me consider taking the wing off again. I keep falling in and out of love with the wingless look almost daily .. sometimes, it looks dodgey but then other times like this one, looks so friggin awesome. More pics please from different angles! Guys any cheap way to remove wing without having to plug the holes?? I'm kinda broke and note sure if I'll like it so worried if I do take the wing off I might change my mind next day .. but since its a black car I dont think some sort of black rubber plugs would look too nasty until I decide ?? Whaddya reckon?

Anyone With White Or Cream Seats In Their Skyline ?
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
very nice! however one thing i like about this other place is that the GTT seat covers have more horizontal lines just like the factory seats. I know, small detail but still nice .. but a not so good thing about the reborne leather place (imo anyway) is theirs are not slip ons so you have to rip the factory trim off the seats How long did it take you to do yours? -
Shitty Series 1 R34 Interior Plastic Paint

Just put a flat screwdriver in the left hand side gap between the vent and trim and push to the left a little bt ..the clip holding the ventsshould pop out and you can pull it out; it's very easy. Speaking of which i've totally screwed up my airvent fascia with the clear coat and trying to take the clear coat off and will need to get a new one from wreckers oh and dropped the ashtray and it broke too ... clumsy idiot. -
Anyone With White Or Cream Seats In Their Skyline ?

Yeah I might just get the front side windows retinted a bit darker to avoid bogan jealousy I already have the factory privacy tint at the back and rear quarters (can barely see through those from outside) As for materials ... my understanding from a bit of research is that this 'reborne leather' is acually real leather (probably not the finest cowbehind ..but real nonethless) + chemicals thrown in the mix, where as the leatherette ones are actually PVC/Vinyl based and made to look/feel like leather. I've got some sample of leatherette from ultimate auto trimmers and to be honest, the material feels nice but nothing like leather - to me anyway, it feels a bit rubbery. But it does look nice and I'm sure it'd be just as durable/comfy. -
I was actually gonna get this for my R34 from the same guy .. I still might because I'd like to get it done sooner if possible as I'm leaving for holidays on the 23rd. If I don't get it done by then, I'm definately in for the seat sovers for an R34 GT-T, cream with nismo logos (just like the R33 GTST above) with extra material for the door trims.

Anyone With White Or Cream Seats In Their Skyline ?

I've pretty much decided on the same sort of covers as this one ... I just can't get over how good they look. Need to get my car carpets changed to black ones first too. Anyone else like these ? -
cheaper option might actually be to get some carpet spray paints/dye and do that instead .. has anyone tried this ?

has anyone here changed their floor coverings ? if so how much did it cost? I'd like to change mine from the standard grey to just plain black... doesn't have to be any fancy material ie. any better than the factory one, just black. I'm guessing motor trimmers can make these up but I'm not sure if Nissan also have ones that you can order from them in black colour .. Just wondering what other people have paid if going through motor trimmers. Reason I'm considering this is because I'm most likely getting cream coloured leatherette seat covers and the car is otherwise black (incl. black nismo mat) and grey floor coverings would just ruin the overall look

noice ! is that the leatherette ones or the other place ('reborne leather') ? cream looks so cool too ..saw this r33 on ebay with full cream interior, oh man ..so hot. But I'm afraid it'd attract too much attention. I like to keep a low profile so I'm thinking I might just go black (outter) and tungsten grey to match the interior I've just done.. http://tinyurl.com/a2xss4 Check out the grey R33 at the top .. I'd totally be up for that but then this dual tone also tickles my fancy and the middle section I think is the same colour I want (tungsten) -
I vaguely remember someone saying you can get a subharness from nissan to convert triple guage harness to fit the lcd so I assumed the reverse might also be possible and would be the cheapest option. Don't really have the $500+ required for aftermarket guages (guages, labour and all) .. decided to just get <$10 worth of Dan's LEDs and be happy with that

Looking at getting a couple of of those 'reborne leather' covers my line but can't decide on colour .. car's black. I'd love white/creamy or black (outter) + white (inners) seat covers anhd matching door trim but i'm afraid they'd get dirty easy. Anyone got any photos of theirs ?? Is it hard to keep em clean ? Cheers

Shitty Series 1 R34 Interior Plastic Paint
Wacky Dee replied to 666DAN's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
man this has been such a pain in the arse experience all around for me .. as I'm a bit of perfectionist and I've now repainted all the bits 3 times with 3 different colours and I've FINALLY found one that I really like ... I've decided on PowerPlus Black Matte for triple guage pod, vents and AC fascia. Two coats of it, no primer or clear and it looks really nice .. very similar to the dash colour so it blends in nicely. For the handbrake surround, and 2din stereo fascia and the door bits I've finally settled on Powerplus TUNGSTEN -- farken awesome colour! It's a silver metalic with a slight greenish hue ., hard to explain but it looks awesome. Couple of tips for people still intending to do this: 1) if you're gonna use Powerplus sprays, buy the small cans (150g) rather than the big ones ..so much easier to handle and shake. It's VERY important to shake the can hard for atleast a minute before using and during use otherwise it spits out some gooey clear crap that ruins the surrounding paint. The smaller cans are slightly more expensive but so much easier to handle and shake and less chances of that gooey crap coming out (didnt happen once to me with the small cans but happened 2-3 times with the big ones) 2) matte black (powerplus) without clear is really nice for the triple guages/vents/AC ...don't use clear, it looks the gays. Like spilled fish and chips all over your dash... 3) door trims are piss easy to remove - I don't remember who said it was hard, but they musta been doing something wrong. Well, it does help that I've seen the audio installer guys do it the other day .. took me literally 5 mins to take off both door trims and disconnect the wires, without breaking anything. 4) use methylated spirits to remove factory paint or if you dont like the paint you choose .. soak the plastic and scrub with some green household scrubbers. Shit comes off so easy it's not funny. WEAR RUBBER GLOVES though cause the crap eats your skin and dries it up..my finders are still sore. Best to get a packet of those single use ones and just discard everytime you've cleaned onc piece in order to not contaminate paint when handling finished pieces.... I'll post some piccies in the next day or 2 ... still need to redo my vents/ac tommorow. I've done and redone my console bits so many times now I've got the feeling if I had to redo it all it wouldn't take me more than 90 mins to do the whole car -
?? Blink once for YES twice for NO .. wiggle the eybrows for a maybe.

I already got the centre console from a wrecked R34 but thanks for the effort anyway, appreciated!
-
not sure if the traction issue started when i got the aftermarket wheel+tyres or after suspension/lowering .. it all happened within a space of 3-4 months and I don't drive that much as I work from home. I know this doesn't help in determining anything, just saying... Matt, you mentioned 38psi on 235/45/18s but mine are 245/40/18's ... ?? I'll try 36psi front and 35 psi back see how I go.

I've heard in a few different places now people recommending to get the idler and tensioner bearings replaced. What are these 2 bearings used for and do they really need replacing ? how much to replace them on an R34 GTT approx. ? I've had my 100k (even though odo is still < 70k but who can trust that..) service already with all the belts incl TB changed as well as oils, water pump etc but never had the bearings touched.

i just swapped over from the r34 popup tv setup to the triple guages ... was wondering if I can just plug in the triple guages into the harness that was connected to the lcd screen or do I have to get a new harness wired in somehow? Cheers Denis

I've just been through that and you'll need to change the whole centre console bit to a standard r34 ie. get it from wreckers or Nissan. normal r34s with the triple guage setup have different brackets holding that centre console in there and the AC fascia is wider as well as the stereo fascia is different. I paid $300 at wreckers for the centre console with brackets, ac unit with ac fascia and double din stereo fascia + triple guages and their pods.
