  1. I'll try a bit higher tyre pressure .. 34psi at the front and 33psi at the back and see how I go. If I still notice traction issues I'll take it to eastcoast .. How does the laser alignment stuff work? does that just measure the distance from centre of wheel guards to centre of wheel or ? because that's useless for my front left as that guard doesn't sit correctly due to prior damage I thought the best way to align it was by placing the car on that big scale thingy where it actually weighs each corner ?
  2. I'm pretty sure the tyre place recommended 32psi .. not sure on the exact size of the tyres I'll look them up tommorw and see what everyone else uses but they're 18" aftermarket wheels not the stock 17s. it could be just my imagination but since I pumped the fronts back to 32psi this arvo the car seems to corner better without traction issue but it could be just my imagination, I'll know for sure in a couple of days I guess as there's some really shitty roads around where I live. Edit: tyres are 245/40/ZR18 95W ...also made from some rubbery compund and black in colour!
  3. just checked my tyre pressure and fronts were about 30 psi and rears 32psi so i've upped the fronts to 32psi as well... could tyre pressure explain the traction issue or is the difference not that big for it to be that ?
  4. xanavi and pods sold pending payment etc, I'm probably keeping the rearbar.
  5. I reckon you're just full of shit. Wouldn't surprise me if you f**king stole that PFC and had no f**king clue how much its worth hence all the secrecy and insta-sold when you realized they have serials numbers. So here's a f**k you too and that's it from me.
  6. I believe GV1 is the nissan code for black ..looks nice but I'm not sure about changing the colour of the car so dramatically ... $1800 is pretty cheap if they're gonna do it properly incl. all doors frames, engine bay etc
  7. I didn't think the TS kit had a scoop of any sort ..I thought it went down in a straight line pretty much. Maybe its different from the gtr one?? http://www.topsecretjpn.com/r34drag6.jpg I'm pretty sure its custom and to be honest to me it looks crap. The normal TS looks nicer
  8. you're far more likely to sell them on a holden/ford forum as those are pretty popular on falcadores .. you might get a very good price thanks to new tyres and then just buy yourself a new set or used stock wheels off a skyline go cheap quite often
  9. yeah camber kit was installed as was rear subframe alignment kit .. could the rear subframe kit have something to do with this crappy traction issue ?
  10. of course he can .. no one said he can't. But he put it up with a price of $2k and without any further posts "SOLD!" ... farken say how much you sold it for. Next person to post one here (and they come on very rarely) might put up the same price because they think this guys sold his for $2k. That was my only point.
  11. pics are up ..please note this is a 34 GTR dash cluster, won't work on a GTT from what I recall. I'm happy to include the black plastic that comes on top as well as the clear cover (as I have no use for either) BUT keep in mind that black plastic that comes over the board is scratched and has glue residue so this is ideal for someone who just wants to change the electric board with the dials and odometer etc.
  12. as per topic .. i bought one of these just to take out the silver insert for the dash. The black plastic is scratched and has glue residue so it's no good to anyone .. so I'm basically just selling the board itself with the dials, you still need your own black plastic cover and the clear cover. The dash is otherwise perfectly fine and shows approx. 25,000 kms on the clock. Will post piccies later. Asking for $100 or best offer. Pickup in sydney or delivery at buyers expense.
  13. I have a R34 GTT with minimal power mods (185rwkw) and a set of 18" wheel with Maxxis MA-Z1 Victra directional tyres .. they're not cheapies but not top of the line rubber either ($260 per corner or thereabouts) http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLight-Truc...-Z1-Victra.aspx Now I've had Bilstein shocks installed with my stock springs lowered a couple of cms and in the dry the tyres seem ok except when cornering (at normal/avg speeds) if there're any sort of bumps or an incline ie. not flat road, I lose tracting quite often. But that's not so scary and I usually turn off TCS for this reason. However in the wet I've noticed taking corners now is almost suicidal ... I've lost traction and fishtailed 3 times now even at lower than normal cornering speed with TCS off. The tyres are still pretty new (3,000kms or so) and the shitty* wheel alignment they've done at heasman's said my alignment is fine. I said shitty because it was just a mechanical/manual alignment afaik. The car had front left damage because the guard is painted crappily and does not line up to the door properly (it came like that from japan) and when I measured the height PRIOR to bilsteins, that corner appeared 1cm higher (or lower, can't remember exactly) probably because the guard wasn't lined up correctly after the crash in japan. Anyway, after the Bilstein's were installed all corners appear same height which doesnt make sense and can only mean they didn't take into account the fact that the front left guard was repaired and isn't sitting correctly 100% ie. they adjusted the height on this corner so that the centre of guard to cente of wheel is equal to all othes. I did bring this to their attention when I had the car there for the suspension upgrade but I had a feeling that info was completely ignored. Anyway, i'm thinking this might have something to do with the loss of traction especially in the wet ..since the front left corner now probably sits 1cm higher or lower than the rest (even though if u measure from guard to centre of wheel it equals everywhere when it shouldn't...) Or could it just be shitty tyres? or some other suspension setup ? I'm kinda broke now so don't have hundreds of dollars to blow on a REAL wheel alignment where they weigh each corner etc. So what other options do i have? other than to take corners like a grandma and pray i don't fishtail when its wet?
  14. how do you figure that douchebag? I could have posted a link to ebay where another just sold for < $1500 but what's the point, that is a realistic price. AUW and JJ have been trying to flog their remaining 2-3 GTT ecus for $2k for atleast 4-5 months now. But atleast they're new items and those are retail shops where you get warranty etc. And yes I CONCUR talbo, ask whatever you want .. it's your ecu. But don't put a stupid price like $2k and then sell it privately for FAR LESS. Just gives other people stupid ideas. He probably didn't get more than $1400 for it I bet. That's for a 2nd hand item that's been sitting in some shed for god knows how many years. I just spoke to my mechanic the other day and he said he can get me a brand new one for $1500 with HC if I tune it at their shop .. or cheaper if I'm willing to wait for a 2nd hand one as they get em in every once in a while.
  15. Ok check this thread it has a couple of shots of the screen and headunit a few posts down ... for $200 you get the entire centre console incl. tv screen and associated motor (all one piece), the dash flap/cover that replaces the triple guage pod, the centre console incl. AC unit, the headunit and factory radio with all fascias and brackets. ie. you can pop the whole unit right in, the only thing that you need to worry about is the electrical parts/wiring .. that needs custom work/rewiring and the cdplayer is throwin up a chip error but I've been told it's an easy fix if you know what you're doing. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Co...l&hl=R34+TV
  16. its not in my car anymore but I'll take a couple of piccies later (perfect opportunity to test my new digicam lol ) I'll try and find a photo of someone's while its still mounted in the car. basically it sits on top of the dash instead of the triple guages and has a custom headunit just below the airvents... the whole centre console is a bit different because in normal GTTs the aircon unit sits under the vents but thats not to worry because I have the entire centre console incl. the brackets that hold it all in there and incl. the aircon unit and associated fascias so it will pop right in to any R34 GTT (although the dash lid and aircon fascia have been painted black but can be resprayed to anything u want obviously)
  17. what's the ns.com real url ?
  18. edit: never mind, they're sponsors.
  19. they've been trying to flog those ecus for months now
  20. I wouldn't bother running more than stock boost unless you get a powerfc or tune your factory ecu as you'll run into R&R issues pretty quick and the car will run like crap. Since you're in NSW, come down to Sydney .. Toshi can remap your stock ecu for < $500 ie. fix up the AFRs and ignition timing. Much cheaper than a powerfc tune and will allow you to run as much boost as you feel is safe, i'd recommend no more than 11.5psi - that's what mine's set to but I have an R34 GTT.
  21. r34 gtt (rb25det neo) 3" exhaust with HKS catback greddy profec b s2 at 11.5 PSI standard turbo standard ecu remapped by Toshi (11.5 AFRs) everything else stock made about 185rwkw
  22. 100ft hey? maybe it was a tapeworm
  23. the r33 should be even easier as it's all just one single plastic bit that goes from centre console around the dash cluster, I've seen many people who've done it so i can't imagine it being any harder. Just remove the old paint with metho, if the surface feels very rough try a bit of fine sandpaper ie. 1000+ grit and paint.
  24. the xanavi that's on sale is NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. This is NOT an item you can just pop in your r34 and it will give your satnav/gps, cd player etc. If it were, it'd probably cost $2000. What it DOES give you is a perfectly functioning LCD screen with a motor function ie. can be opened/closed, and FIXABLE cd system which can be repaired if you are a enthusiast sparky. It CAN be and has been fixed and modified by a few people ie. as a gps system or a general popup screen connected to a DVD player or playstation etc. It fits perfectly on the R34 dash and comes with the required lid so this is not just some generic screen that you have to modify your dash to make it work - it pops right in and bolts onto the dash in under 2 mins - you just have to know what you want it for (ie. dvd output, playstation gps or just a cd player. So all this doom and gloom above sounds a bit over the top imo. Do NOT get this if you have no idea about car audio or electronics in general. It's for an enthusiast who wants to customize their R34 and is prepared to spend a bit of money to have a unique popup screen on their dash. And the price is $200 - you can't even get a crappy little gps unit for that price. This unit is custom made for R34s and fits where the standard triple guages on other R34s are.
