  1. btw here is my dyno chart cheers
  2. the rb has its place and like chris said I really dont want this to be an rb v sr thread. I went for the sr casue of the torque that the sr has down lowa nd the off boost responsiveness to me and mind you I have had several rb 20's I find the development curve of the rb 20 is dated there is no ongoing development in japan. where as the sr is going great guns here in japan and also the us plus you need to only by 4 of every thing not 6, injectors are off the shelf etc. I looked seriously at building a tough rb 20 I even have one sitting around and decided against it due to cost. not much cheaper than doing a full build on an rb 25 or 26. plus the lag etc up to 200 rwkw I think there isnt much better thanthe rb 20 . my power goal is 240-250 rwkw with this turbo I should get there. one thing I have found the sr' 20's handle sustained high boost better than rb 20's that could be because the rb's are older not sure as for this turbo it was designed for the sr not the rb 20 I just threw my 2 cents worth. on the sr they quote 270 rwkw probably with cams and custom manifold. jms claimed 300rwkw with the smaller version on their black afrkkana 180. cheers meggala
  3. the t518z is rated @ 420 hp and is classed between the 2540 and 2835. but not as laggy as either cheers yeah bozz knows his stuff
  4. well 26gts most rb20 on this dyno when they reach 195 200 rwkw are way out of fuel to give you an idea. some dyno's read high some read low the one I use reads low. this is no pissing contest I was stating the results I made. the t518z 10cm is rated @ 420 hp. is plain bearing and does not use water lines there is no comparable turbo from hks the comparison is 2540 and 2835 . these turbos support a 180sx running deep into the 11's on a built motor no gas the development of my car has only just started the a/f's are way rich on this tune. meggala
  5. my sr made 203 rwkw full boost 3200 rpm boost 1.2 bar cams custom manifold some more bosot and tunig 230-250 shoud be very doable for me thats why I went that route rather than rb 20 2530 should be very good also some of the hiflows do ok but dont spool early enough. for what you wantalso boostd's vg 30/25 hybrid turbo's work well on the rb 20 but not up to the 230 rwkw level. remeber you fuel system will run out well b4 230 rwk probalby around 200 rwkw cheers megggala
  6. well as some of you know i fitted the sr 20 to my cefiro. it has a few mods t518z 10cm turbo, gtr cooler, 550 injectors, z32 afm and chip from dr drift. we had it on the dyno the other day and made 203 rwkw @ 6500 rpm full boost 3200 rpm and the thing pulls like a train the power curve is almost flat from 5 k rpm up. I need a custom exhaust manifold which I have to help the motor rev better and I'll fit a set ofcams as the sr responds well to them. how is i well the car is great the handling is awsome the balance. do I regret not doing rb 25 no way. I"m very happy with the power and the delivery of the power. note how rich it is running so plenty more power in that tune I'll keep it at this level for a few months then do the ex manifold and the cams. I cant wait to run it at the strip to see how close I am to that 12 the car weight 1380 so with the sr I reckon 1340 or so. itsgreat fun. meggala
  7. the head gasket might not be the issue quite often you need stronger head studs . also as dough boy said quite often for a car like this in japan they would be running race fuel. and if you drove the car here and put 98 in it on the jap tune there would be serious issues cause it would probalby have been running 103 ( yu can get this at alot of servo's over there) or higher octane and would of had the timing wound right up. hence you car could have detonated. what ecu are you running in it. btw I'm not having a go just adding my 2 cents worth so we all can under stand the state of tune of these cars casue alot of people think you can just grab a 700 hp car off the boat from japan and go racing. and keep on racing it for ever cause it has forged internals the conditions over there are quite different to here cheers
  8. 1.5 bar is around 20 psi 30psi is around 2bar. the higher compression might have been used to make the car driveable and to enable the turbo to spool earlier I would have along think about reducing the compression and if you do do it with a thicker metal head gasket rather than new pistons may be a 2.0 mm one. interesting find the 2.7 kit meggala
  9. no but you can remove it in around 1min just unplug it and plug in the stock ecu
  10. my point roy is that its cost time and money to get an aftermarket ecu adr approved and street legal in victoria at least 3k for the test not to mention the dyno time and the risk to the engine when runnign it such a lean condition but back to the wollf Iwas unaware that they had a plug in model and take that back. ment to mention it in the thread but I got side tracked and forgot steve just remided me. one of the major things is the ecu has to locked and sealed for the car to get adr approval in victoria at least. meggala
  11. I would have gone the 1.06 housing my self but I think your 500 engine hp should be doable. it will be very troquey
  12. hahaha I remember inarks first time at the drags he wasnt even goign to run till sam and i got him a helmet and told him to get to it I might be in for it not sure I will be runnign my ceff pretty soon meggala
  13. its also on this page along wiht the rb25 wiring diagram and many other things. http://www.meggala.com/partcss.htm
  14. a few r32's came in with similar mods they were pretty good my suggestion is wait till it gets heere and talkto the compliance engineer first. I think the lease of a complete motor might be a better ideaor else you might upset the balance and set up of the old one) and itwill be alot easier alot easier to unbolt and bolt in. hope for 250 rwkw and be very happy if you get more the car will be laggy even with the 2.4 kit but should rev very well and very high. enjoy meggala
  15. use nitto's instead of slick that way your on street legal tyres
  16. congrats man thats an awsome effort. the mph is mind blowing are you sure its a 75hp shot? dotn forget to send that time in to hpi meggala
  17. anyway my ceffy got in to hpi on its own
  18. Alot of peeps were at the ring road meet @ least 30 cars so it should be a great run cheers
  19. well my old r32 is running one of boostd's special turbo's. and its great makes full boost around 3k rpm you wont be dissapointed. meggala
  20. thought I would post one of the pics from his gallery you should really get in there and have a look
  21. yep set your plug gaps to .8 mm then look for other issues if this doent work the coils oin r33's are good for 500hp so dont listen to the mechanic If you really want after market ecu go power fc but no need to go there till you change turbo's at least. and wolf isnt that great any way plus you car wont pass an epa inspection with the wolf attached. look for the threads re after market ecu's the subject has been covered heaps. Might be time to look for a more skyline experianced mechanic they are n't alway the cheapest but they can save you big dollars down the track. lastly when it come to cars there is one golden rule borrow money for the car but dont borrow money for the mods. why cause mods are dead money and you will not see most of it back. If you want some idea's re which wayto go for mods read this http://www.meggala.com/modys.htm cheers meggala
  22. what about an cefiro with an sr 20 that makes well over 200 rwkw. hmmmmmmmmmmm now thats a hot 4
  23. great time great effort . now to get my 4 cylinder into the 12's meggala
  24. $400 sound spretty fair ask him if he will be firm on that price. no little surprises meggala
  25. I'm in complete agreement here nothing I cant stand more times mean nothing racing is what counts. hope it happens more and more and to me agood 12 or 13 second car is all you need to have good drag racing fun. cheers
