Mate, love the idea of saving money, but im an absolute spastic when it comes to anything like that! i would rather pay someone to get the job done properly! I dont want to spend anymore than around 6k, am i around the money?

I am planning on doing some minor mods in the next month to my 34gtr so i dont blow the ceramic wheels of my turbo's through a perfectly good rb26! The car is seldom driven on the road and will see the track about once a month. My thoughts are.... power fc hks gtss turbos 700 cc injectors cam gears and a tune! What is a good [rapist!] mechanic/tuner going to charge me for this and what are your thoughts on the mods? keep in mind i dont want insane amounts of power, but i do want reliability. all input would be appreciated, and i live on the gold coast if people could reccomend anyone..

Didnt suggest this car would fix their problems- nothing much will! my suggestion is that it [corvette]might be worth something if they cease production! I bet the workers of GM dont share your confidence. GM dont have the money to invest in R and D, and as such they skimp on new models. its been a slippery slide for many years and it's because they kept on producing ordinary, inefficiant, mediocre quality cars. Compare them to Toyota and with there miniscul funds they are always going to be 1 then 2 then 3 steps behind the benchmark!

Didnt GM file for bankruptcy protection some time ago? At least there having one last hurrah!!! brilliant car given how ordinary american cars are [technically speaking]. It is a real possibility that GM could completely go out of business due to the sub-prime fallout and huge decline in sales volume. i understand they were trying [unsuccessfully] to refinance debt and were knocked back by all in sundry! if they go, this car might be really worth having as it would mark the end of a massive era in the automotive industry. lets hope its not the case for everyone who works for them.

Intersting read guys, I am Biased, but lets be honest if money was no object to anyone, they quite simply wouldnt make a gtst! but i know thats not the case, I see 34 gtt's around from time to time, and if it was me and $25k was my budget i would be buying a rebuilt clean 32 gtr not a 34 gtt if performance was the main objective. Im not saying there isnt a place for these cars but comparisons shouldnt be drawn between the two. Its a great feeling driving a GTR, buy a 32! beautiful flared guards, leave the rear spoiler on, keep the front lip grey, buy some 34 gtr rims! i dont think i will ever not look at one if it pulled up next to me at the lights!

I have just sent off for my cams level 2 [speed] and affiliate club license applications in the mail, but i want to know what I/car will need to do a track day at qld raceway for instance.... Obviously helmet and so forth, but do i need anything done to my car, like extinguisher, tow sticker etc... All help would be greatly appreciated and would like some info on which clubs hire the raceway out on the weekends as thats the only time i can get off work to play. Your help would be great
