  1. Yeah I thought I blew the turbo, but further investigation points me towards the motor, and then the compression test confirmed it. Like I only discovered yesterday when I was pulling the crossover pipe off to do the test, that Ive got oil leaking everywhere (both valve covers, pcv valve etc), but the crossover pipe was dry.. I am quite tempted to go the RB25 route (just got off the phone to Paul from AdelaideJap), but I really dont want to go in over my head so I'm clinging to the 20 still. I'd love to build an RB24, but everything that Ive read suggests this isnt the cheapest thing to do...
  2. Yeah I do agree on the huge rebuild thing, but I'm not sure what you mean with the blown turbo... I thought it had a blown turbo - but apparantly not, there is a chance thats gone too though.
  3. Ok, well I had my RB20 compression tested this morning and: 1: 92 2: 88 3: 80 4: 85 5: 90 6: 90 So obviously not too good. It's got oil in the water but Ive been told its likely un-related to the low compression as its across the board, not just 1 or 2 cylinders. My mechanic told me its either due to valves not sealing, or the piston rings. So realistically, where should I go from here? Please spare me the comments about selling it or converting to a RB25/26...
  4. I'm down. no +1 for me, just my lonely self lol
  5. I partly agree, however. For the price of the aftemarket ones compared to new OEM, the aftermarkets absolutely crap all over the 15 year old ones which give you a nice little cough and jerk at 5500rpm.
  6. We'll see what the scientist says about my RB20 tomorrow, I might need it lol
  7. As per my PM, could I please have a mailing address I could send a money order, because I do not come to Adelaide very often and I am very busy with work at the moment - I work evenings. -D
  8. +1 If it becomes more widely availible I might look into it.
  9. if its a "500HP" pump, it will be fine. Last I heard Jeff was working out of a place at Pooraka.
  10. You will need 550cc injectors, he left off a 0 lol I have never used them, but Ive heard good things about Hypergear (www.digi-hardware.com) What fuel pump do you have? Also, you will probably need a Z32 air flow meter. Then there is a couple of different options for ECU and tuning. You could go a Apexi PowerFC and have it tuned, the FC is ~$1500, then you need tuning. Or, call Jeff at The Speed Lab (0434637357) and have a talk to him. This will be cheaper.
  11. What he said ^ Just make sure you get the AFR's checked out on a dyno. Edit: Hypergear say thier highflowed stocker can pull 225RWKW @ 16PSI on a RB20, so it would be higher for a RB25. You will need to upgrade injectors, AFM, fuel pump plus look at your ECU to get those power levels safely, though.
  12. Or get an aftermarket turbo and smash 20
  13. It's not for me to tell....
  14. I've known for about 2 weeks now
  15. = truth.
  16. A new business venture hey?
  17. 7.30am????? f**k. lol. I'll be there.
  18. Couldnt you disguise the Z32? The exterior dimensions look very similar to the RB2x ones, so if I took both AFM's to an electrical place couldnt they put in the z32 innards into the RB2x one - I know the Z32 has one more pin, but Im assuming its not required when fitting to an RB. Then as an absolute max I would only have to change the order of wires going to the AFM.. Im just thinking... Also, can you get nismo ones for the RB20/25?
  19. Work tonight.... and tomorrow night.... gotta love xmas!
  20. If I was more organised I would have brought it to Loxton along with my laptop. But Im sure you saw all the clothes on my back seat still drying so thats how organised I was lol
  21. +1 About the only thing I could think of is if you had a track/drift car you totalled and needed a new shell...
  22. Hehe I got this: 10GB Download Limit. Thats why I asked who had wifi on thier laptops
  23. Who here has a laptop with wi-fi? All we need now is a generator and a evap cooler on wheels (or fans)
