Nengun operates out of Japan, so that $550 isn't including GST or import duty or the install/tune obviously, but even with taxes it's still under $700. If you're lucky you won't have to pay the GST or import duty at all Just depends on whether or not customs picks it up. JimX.
  2. Haha, I did the exact same thing with my Torana many years ago. Luckily nothing flew off, just got very loose and made a hell of a racket. I don't think I ever ran so fast to switch my engine off from under the bonnet! JimX.

Nengun has them for about $550, subject to the current exchange rate. JimX.
  4. I bought some 2nd hand JIC coil over suspension today but I don't know a couple of things. Firstly, what are all the torque settings for the mounting bolts? Secondly, is there any guide on roughly where on the height settings I should set it? (like halfway up, 3/4 up or down, wherever?) I don't even know what the stock ride height is meant to be. What is a good (lowish) ride height that I should set it to front and rear and not have to adjust the camber? I don't mind if it's not super-low. Oh yeah, I think I also need those C spanners to move the adjusters. Where can I get the right sized ones from? (2 different sizes needed) Any help appreciated! JimX.
  5. No longer interested in strut brace, please sell it to someone else. JimX.
  6. Erm, well I won't say *no* questions asked But I can come and pick it up tonight if you're in Sydney. (so some questions like when/where/etc need to be asked) JimX.
  7. The R34 GTT puts out over 206kw, or more than likely does. It's rated at 206kw so it's almost certainly over this. The GTR is also rated at 206kw and we all know it puts out more than the GTT. You are probably thinking of the R33 GTS-t, which is rated at 184kw. JimX.
  8. A Boomerang alarm came with my car, it seems to be pretty good. The remote's LCD screen is faded in parts though, and it looks too old to be fixed under warranty (not that I have a receipt anyway). I think they are about $200 to replace I'm going to try pulling it apart and re-seating the LCD screen. I think I'd still prefer satellite tracking, but since this was free with the car and I have no spare funds for sat. tracking it'll have to do. JimX.
  9. Have you got the bolt thingie that holds down the spare tyre in the boot? If so name your price Also anything that might hold down the jack handle and stuff, when I got my car it was all floating around in the boot and I have no idea where or how it's all secured. Could be a bag or something, I have no idea. JimX.
  10. 0-100 times for any supersports 600-1000cc bikes is in the vicinity of 2.5 to 3 seconds. So it's possible to beat them in a car, but very difficult unless you have a dedicated drag car with high stall converter. The problem with bikes is not so much the power itself but getting that power to the ground. A powerful sports bike with slight mods (exhaust, remap/rejet) will have about 100rwkw, but only about 1/5 the weight. So in theory they should run much faster times than 10's and 11's but they don't. They only have about 1/10th the contact patch on the rear tyre compared to a car and they only have 1 drive tyre, and on top of that they have very short wheel bases and tend to pop wheelies too easily. I think a Yamaha R1 is capable of running 9's with little or no modification, but it would take a very skilled rider to accomplish that. Be very careful when racing against bikes. You don't want to accidentally hit him, it happened on Spit bridge last year and the poor rider got decapitated (he was racing a BMW). Whether it's the bike rider's or your fault the result of any impact is going to be nasty and you will feel like **** if you hurt or kill him. (not to mention possibly be charged with murder) JimX.
  11. Thanks for the info We couldn't actually find the engine number, the even my friend who's owned an R33 for the best part of a year doesn't know where the engine number is! We think it must be under a heat shield or something. But the VIN checks out fine, and that's the important thing. Worst case situation if the engine is stolen I can buy another one for under $3k from a second hand wrecker in Qld (shipping might cost a bit though ) But seriously, I don't think it's stolen (touch wood). It's just that with this much money being thrown around I want to be as sure as I can possibly be that it's going to be fine. The car has been here and registered for over 2 years so I don't think I need to worry about it having been stolen in Japan, surely they would have tracked it down by now. Anyway I'll give the RTA and/or cops a call and see what they have to say. I actually looked at the RTA site and they say that REVS will say if the car has been stolen or written off too, just the certificate doesn't cover you for those situations. I'll just check as many things as I can and leave it at that. Thanks again! Jim. P.S. Oh, I'm near Meadowbank. I've only been here for a bit over a year, before that I lived in Fairfield.
  12. Hi all, been lurking for a couple of days so I thought I'd write a quick greeting and ask a question at the same time. I am going to pick up a '95 R33 tomorrow, in a private sale. I've done the REVS check and it's all clear, but the certificate they give you only protects you from finance companies, it doesn't protect you from buying a stolen vehicle. So I was just wondering, is there any way to be guaranteed that you're not buying a stolen vehicle? I'm almost certain that it's not stolen, because they guy who's selling it knows all the ins and outs of the car including a high-tech alarm/security system, but I just wanted to be absolutely sure one way or the other. I've only bought expensive cars from dealers before so I guess you could say it's my paranoia getting the better of me a bit. What I'm worried about really is that it's some elaborate scam which they've practiced really well. I know it's not likely, but as I said, my paranoia is showing through Can anyone give me any advice? Or should I just trust the RTA and REVS reports that it's not stolen, and make sure the receipt is done properly so that I have written proof that it was bought legitimately? Thanks in advance, Jim.
