  1. What happens at 95 degrees?
  2. Wouldn't that be because full boost is now 2.5 psi higher than before?
  3. So you decided it wasn't worth getting sued by an insurance company? Fair enough.
  4. Why didn't you send me the pm asking about this so called hidden legal letter? At the moment I the you're the main person here without any credibility.
  5. I've tried Shannons twice. I do know that they insure Skylines, but both times I called I seemed to get some bogun on the line who seemed more concerned with insuring Australian and American built hot rods and said they wouldn't insure my car. I guess I will just keep ringing until I get someone useful.
  6. Oil Extreme comes in 2 formulas, one is the blended stuff (which is apparently hydro-cracked oil and very good quality), and the other is the concentrate which you add to your own oil, and functions in the exact same way as you described the Roil. I didn't take note of the economy or anything, so I can't comment on the other properties.
  7. Me too. I didn't find out about Oil Extreme via the official site though, it was from my mechanic at the time. My main reason for trying it was for reduced emissions, because due to the mods on my Commodore (my car at the time) it was over the legal limit. After running Oil Extreme for awhile, it became legal again. The reason I ask is I'm wondering whether I should contemplate putting the leftover bottles I've got of Oil Extreme into my Skyline Sydneykid has done a good job thus far of convincing me not to. I'm still not sure what to do.
  8. What Jay said is correct. The only way to prevent it happening is to machine the discs while they are on the car. Otherwise the difference in tolerances between the workshop's lathe and your axles will cause it go go back to square one before too long. Here is an interesting article about it. The discs don't really "warp" as such, but get the high spots on the discs knocked off by the pad, even when you're not using the brakes. Which of course is amplified if you use a hard pad like an RB74. Anyway have a read. I only found out about this recently, but I am now 100% sold on getting the discs machined while on the car. Edit: Erm, speaking of which Can someone tell me who does a good job of on-car machining in Sydney, at a reasonable price?
  9. Hang on, you say you still had ignition, but then immediately afterwards you suspect it was faulty ignition? I don't get it  How did you think you were still getting ignition? I mean you can hear the fuel pump if it's working, but unless you had a timing light in your car and tested it while you were cranking it over, I'm not sure how you could be certain that the ignition was still working. It could be a faulty igniter.
  10. Tony, I'm assuming that your headlight mists up regardless of the weather conditions. That would indicate that it is still water tight, because rather than "drying up" it's just turning to vapour and staying in there to recondense when it cools off again. If that's the case, what you wanna do is to take out one of the head light sockets on a dry warm day (ie not humid) and leave it out in the sun for a couple of hours. That will give the water vapour a chance to escape. Then put the socket back it.
  11. Where can I buy a rubber sheath for my 044? Is there a one-size-fits-all thing I can get for it?
  12. How does Roil compare to Oil Extreme? They both seem to be very similar products.
  13. I think you need to read up on how insurance companies work before you start speculating.
  14. My Famous policy lets me choose my repairer. This may have changed since I got mine last year, so I will be reading my renewal very carefully. Lifetime NCB protection - forget about it. Write off 3 cars or get them stolen and see if ANYONE will insure you, let alone let you keep your NCB.
  15. What's all this obsession with beating bikes anyway? Yeah, some worked cars out there can beat stock sports bikes. But you spent at least 3x the money to do it. You need to build a bridge.
  16. Best thing about bikes is you can pull 11's for under $10k. Under $5k if you get an old RGV250 or something. Oh yeah, and also parking right near your work in the CBD for free
  17. Send it to me too please.
  18. Any sports bike 600cc and up will kill virtually any car on the road. And for the rare car where the owner has more money than sense sunk into his pride and joy, well a bike can just lose him in the traffic by lane splitting. I have yet to see a car that can beat my bike. I'm not saying that they don't exist, it's just that they are so rare that I've never seen one in over 3 years of riding. And even if I do eventually see one, he's still going to be stuck behind other cars as I lane split on up the road Oh, note I said "sports bike" above. Harleys are usually 1000-1500cc, and yet they are absolute slugs. You could beat one in a V8 Commodore in both 0-100 and in top speed. So even if you have a mild GTS-t, give a Harley a go and you will probably win. They are also too fat to lane split through traffic
  19. I can't remember, but it has been listed here in the past by someone. From memory it's mostly the same part numbers just with an 8 instead of a 1 or something near the end. I didn't know this until I went to gap mine and found that they were already 0.8. So I was just lucky.
  20. Don't buy Iridiums and gap them to 0.8, buy the version that is already gapped to 0.8. Sure you can be careful and gap them, but why take the risk? The 0.8mm ones are readily available and I have them in my car. As for buying 6 sets of coppers for the price of one set of platinums or iridiums, I would rather pay 6 times the price to not have to change the plugs 6 times
  21. Buy a second hand Fuel Cut Defender. I sold mine last year for around $75 I think.
  22. I need the small linking arm with the ball joints on it that connects the front sway bar to the suspension arm.
  23. I think the whole light is around $200 second hand. Once I used the razor blade, I kind of levered it apart with a screwdriver. I managed to chip a small bit off the red part, so be careful.
  24. Actually until a few days ago I still needed one. But then the guy that is cleaning the injectors managed to get hold of an SR20 fuel rail, so that they will be cleaned in 2 lots of 3. Thanks for the offer anyway, it is muchly appreciated!
  25. Razor blade along the seam.
