127mm is worse Lazy arse Alfa mechanics put a new rack in a car I had to align and didn't bother to line up the tie rods close to 0, I had to drive it about 200m with the tyres screaming the whole way lol

Good to know Damo

But I'll probably end up with a beater S13, prob won't be welcome lol Cheers for the info I'd probably prefer to get a year licence so I don't have to bother with the day permits but I guess I could rock it like that for a bit. I probably could've bought a few years worth of licence for the amount of day permits I've got over the years drifting though

And this is why our defect/roadworthy inspection system is up the shit. Too much faith in police discretion.

quick Q, I'm sure a few of you lads should know: Can I buy a cams L2 non speed licence (for drift pracs) without being a member of a club? Might finally stop buying and selling cars and stick with 1 and make a good slider out of it one day soon On that note, anyone want an RX7?

So, here I present to you, the good people of SAU, another chapter in the epic saga of trying to get my Silvia back on the road. I left the last chapter having discovered that no other RB that anyone I know has seen runs V belts, hence my harmonic balancer must be the wrong one. I had high hopes of being able to simply remove the balancer off my old 20 and chuck it on the new one and presto - no more wobbling balancer. Oh no, not on this car, that sort of shit would be too easy. No, instead me and a mate have gone to undo the crank bolt holding on the balancer (after a mass headscrew trying to get the rad out to make some room) and it's loose as a goose at first crack. Undo it some more and it starts to get tighter. Throwing caution and possible snapped/threaded crank bolt to the wind, we continue to undo the bolt, having to put more and more force into it as we go. Now a good hour of this and we have almost got the bolt off but it's fking tight. We pry the balancer away from the engine and it's loose as. It also turns about 20 degrees on the crank. At this point we're thinking 'that ain't right' and lo and behold the key locking the balancer onto the crank is moving around, clearly locking 5/8ths of fuck all. After another few minutes of trying to get the bolt off to have a suss of whats left of the locking key we give up, my mate goes home and I come dangerously close to grabbing the matches and petty again. So, I finish this chapter with: 1 I almost definately have the wrong balancer and as a result the key that is supposed to lock it so it turns with the crank is fucked 2 the crank bolt feels like it is nigh on snapping 3 I'm nearly at wits end (again) and have either a for sale ad or a large bbq in mind My next port of call is taking the balancer off my old engine and using it, and it's locking key, on my new engine - IF I don't snap the crank bolt before getting the fucked one off. Once again, if it works there will be many skids done in celebration. If it doesn't there will possibly be fire.

Anyone Missing The Keys To Their Gtr?
AndrewJZX100 replied to AndrewJZX100's topic in South Australia
... apart from having the GTR logo embossed in them But yeah my guess is 33. Doubt someone would chuck out the keys to their 34 GTR and how many wrecked ones could there be in the hills -

They don't look like the one Steve posted either, they look like normal keys with black plastic covers and a typical 90s Nissan central locking thing. They're prob from a written off car or some shit but still if I'd lost my keys and some cat found them and thought he'd keep em for shits n giggles I'd be fair shattered -

They're pretty boring aye Mitch, look like the keys you'd get with a late 90s Maxima or something just with GTR embossed on them On the off chance they are actually someones, description of the keyring will be required -
LOL same, should cruise down for a meet/chinwag one day when I don't have to work a friday night
-
A set of GTR keys were found the other day at work (Woodside dump). It's unlikely someone 'lost' them as such cause they were in some rubbish that was taken to the dump, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. They look like possibly 33 GTR ones, have GTR logo embossed in the metal bit of the keys and also on the keyless entry button thingo.
-
Cheers man, now I've just gotta find the actual car and I'll be set Actually found the keys in Woodside hahah, guess I'll chuck up a thread to see if I can find an owner to them
-
lol fitment is dope as on the R/C On another note, as of yestdy I have the keys to a real GTR

Ring up, sound keen, talk some shit, get details. Use said details to organise a good old fashioned beat down Forward said details onto Police... ... then watch them try and defect your car for the mods listed in the ad

I've always found it somewhat humorous that Japanese built cars can have the odo wound back so much and still have less problems/be in better overall condition than a locally built car at a similar amount of kays (on a genuine odo). Even with the whole odo tampering thing being ever present I'd still be more inclined to trust a decent condish import with 150thou+ than a local offering showing the same.

Either way it's going to be entertaining. Think Watto's dismissal of that west indian bloke a few tests back if the thing works properly

It's a CA, that in itself is a problem from the start Dunno if any of you cats remembers the drama I had with my sil end of last year (and my numerous threats to burn it to the ground ) but there are some new developments in the story. Turns out a mate of mine has had a dead ceffy engine just chillin at his for ages, so I was like wicked I've found a harmonic balancer to replace my seemingly fked one. Got him to make sure the one on there has the same set up as mine (with a V belt in the middle of 2 4pk belts), turns out it has the same balancer as my old 32 motor. Which is the same set up as EVERY other RB engine I've seen. All of this leads me to belive some fking asshat has possibly whacked the wrong balancer on the front of my engine, thus the reason why it's wobbling all over the place. Plan is now to chuck my old 32 motor's balancer on the cef motor currently in the car and see what happens. If I'm lucky it will spin true, and I'll go rip a fat skid. If I'm unlucky it will do as the one on there now and f**k around, in which case the vehicle is under threat of death by fire once again.

How much rego and how well is 'considerably'? PM'd

I'll be spectating again this year, definately won't be piloting anything worthy of entry by then. (love the inclusion of Joel's Cressy wags on the flyer though I'd love to have my MX32 look even half as good)
-
As title says, I need a harmonic balancer from a Cefiro RB20. They are different to R32 RB20, the Cefiro one has 2 4pk belts either side of a V belt in the middle for air con. Needed somewhat urgently.
-
Anyone got a harmonic balancer off a Cefiro RB20 they wanna offload by any chance?
-
LOL my old 20 was the same aye. Blown head gasket, blown water pump and a big arse crack in the exh mani right at the collector and it was still cranking skids right till the end
