Can't remember exactly what the go was, but they were out of pocket by a few hundred bucks because of some dodgy shit on the 'buyers' behalf. Could dig up the Facebook chat between affected parties but cbf. I don't know how someone could let their car go without cash or a bank cheque in their hand personally. Craig: updates are I've gone back to not giving a shit about it. Going to relocate it to my front lawn, chuck it under the car cover and forget about it for a while.
-
It's a known scam, friends of friends have been ripped by it.
-
then snap belts, then be up for more money to fix shit Nah the cover actually looked loose at the bottom, like it was sitting closer to the HB. Probably why it's making such a fking racket. There will be skids just wanna make sure I'm not gonna break it while doing them
-
Kinda hard to tell if it is or not, but it doesn't look good. It's that or the harmonic balancer is bent or some shit. Either way it's not exactly 'all sweet' It drives normal though, took it for a quick drive up the street before just makes a fkoff bad sound from the HB having it's way with the timing belt cover.

Ok just put a 2nd hand RB20 from a ceffy into my silvia (previously had an R32 RB20) and after the joys of having to swap every fking sensor over so I could use my old 32 engine loom, I've started it up and seen that the harmonic balancer is shaking like an epileptic with parkinsons I've checked the main bolt on the end of the crank and thats tight. Theres 2 snapped bolts out of the 6 or so smaller ones (the ones that are left are tight) but I wouldn't think that would cause the good 10mm of play that the harmonic balancer has. It's wobbling so much it's taking chunks out of the timing belt cover behind it I've been told a possible cause is the end of the crank is bent. I want to believe there is possibly another, not so expensive to fix, reason why the HB would be wobbling so much, can anyone enlighten me to any or am I going to have to rip the f*cking engine out and spend more money fixing the heap of shit
-
LOL so it's not just me. I saw it and was just like what the fk is this shit On another also humourous note - the muffler fell off the cressy this morning Sounds beefy as now hahaha On a less homourous note, I believe the crank is bent in my new RB20. Yay for never ending problems, time to get out the matches and petty I think.

lol the bloke must've been lost as hey, some of the shit we looked at and was like 'wtf has this dude tried to do here?' Anyway, the shit runs, and it fires up better than it ever has thanks to me wiring up the right shit now, so fk it gonna pay someone else to do the balancer and turbo stud - cbf with that shit.
-
oi Craig, whoever had this engine before you was a fuckin dumbcunt aye They tried to take the harmonic balancer off or some shit, snapped 2 of the bolts and just left it. The cunt fkin wobbles all over the shop, theres a good 10mm of play. Not to mention some of the other dodgy shit we found along the way Meh, we got the engine in, got it running and shit so I'm happy with me and my mates efforts, some other bastard can fix this harmonic balancer shit.

YOU FUCKING BEAUTY!!! The silvia runs!! Called up Decs from Garage 7, he's like ya gotta change these wires and it'll work. Made said changes, turned the key and sure enough that sweet, sweet RB sound filled the air... ... as well as the not so sweet sound of the loose harmonic balancer raping the timing belt cover something fierce Oh well, it runs and that's a fking win in my book - now for some celebratory beers!! Skids when the harmonic balancer and snapped stud in turbo is fixed
-
Yeah he cruised out to my mates house in Lenswood to wire up an R32 - RB25 convo. Hoping travelling to littlehampton to wire up a few wires in an already converted sil will be a piece of piss for him (and therefore extremely cheap for me )
-
Silvias? Q? D? K? What the fuck difference?

Why the hell did you bring this up just for that? Still, bringing up a 6 month old thread isn't as bad as this guy the reply before his = 2002 -
Nah, hit a brick wall with wiring after I did all the ones in this RB-S13 guide I found and the c*nt still didn't start. It's probably something simple like coil packs or injectors not getting power but if it was I still wounldn't know how to find out why that is happening and how to fix it so gonna get someone else to have a suss. Steve at Jazmac (who originally did the RB convo) is fair busy but I might be able to get it in at the end of the week or I might see if Decs has some time to cruise out to my mates and have a quick suss.

This Could Be It, Rann Might Finally Be Outta Here!

Anyone else notice how they've pushed this aside now and buried it with other news stuff (like those fkin pandas) in the hope people move on and find something else to think/whinge about? Seems nothings going to come of it after all, Media Mike's got the papers on his side trying to bury the issue so he can get on the with the job of fking our state (in his office, on the desk, in a cheffuer-car down by the golf course, etc) -
More Cressy love.

Want mine? 6k - almost ready to skid. Just finish the wiring and your set
-
It wouldn't be so bad if the end result was some bullshit tough motor, but all this shit for a 20? Nah in all honesty mine wouldn'tve been half the headfuck it has if me and my mate didn't make an important decision re how to swap looms while absolutely plastered last weekend that was where the real troubles began.
-
LOL we've both come to the same conclusion - some other sucka can deal with it Tandem skids when both our shitboxes are done fo sho.
-
I just can't stand to look at the thing at the moment. My mates dad has a multi-meter but none of us who are working on it have a clue about wiring so I guess we've done pretty well to get this far with all the bullshit little differences/problems we've encountered One thing though, Nissan can suck a huge wang. Why the hell would you make every single goddam sensor have a different plug between 2 engines of the same vintage fitted to similar chassis?
-
Nah got the pump priming. Doesn't even come close to firing up though, just turns over for a bit while draining the shit out of the battery, even when being jumped and the other car is revving a fair bit, it still almost dies completely. My mate said he could hear the fuel being pumped into the rail, so it might be a spark issue, but I really don't give a fuck anymore. It's time for someone who knows what they're doing re wiring to have a suss (that or it's time to push the cunt over a cliff and gleefully watch the destruction that ensues)
-
An open letter to my Silvia: Dear fucking shitheap of a car, Go and die a horrible firey death, you fucking pile of worthless shit. I am fucking over this shit immensely, and am on the edge of burning you to the fucking ground, and pissing on your ashes. Love, Andrew
-
Either or, not fussed If I get the shitheap running I may just do one as well
-
As long as its before about 3ish - all good man. Workin tomoz arvo, but hopefully I'll have that wiring shit sussed by then if the weather isn't all fked up like it was today.
-
hahaha thats gangstar, same model as my daily
-
It's 1 wire away from starting I reckon. The new engine loom had to be modded to fit the S13 chassis, just a few wires which need to be re-directed and shit in the engine bay. Re-did the in-cabin wiring mods to suit the new loom as well, so all the bits that were modded on the old loom to make the old engine run are now done on the new loom to make this new engine run - bar one which I'll connect up tomorrow.
-
lol I'm gonna have to try so hard not to give it any shit for a few hundred kays, kinda run in the new engine a bit after it would've been sitting for a while. I've got a few pics but it just looks like a stock blue silvia with R33 wheels. It's not even low or anything, almost like a drift sleeper
