  1. Yep. My mate fashioned up an aligning tool with an old input shaft out of one of his boxes, works fking mint The sil is so close to being done. Turns over mint but theres no fuel pump priming before hand. I've been told theres an extra wire you have to run when going RB in a sil to get the pmp going, which the new loom wouldn't have, so looks like all I'll have to do is identify that wire on my old loom, do the same to the new one and bobs your fathers brother.

Yeah but 'those looms look a bit different' didn't quite give the impression of 'you'll have to change every sensor off your old engine onto the new one, along with the ignitor, coilpack loom, coilpacks etc' Not to mention other shit like the ps pump and harmonic balancer and shit. Ah well, engine stuff is sorted so now it's a case of what needs to be changed/can go wrong on the actual car when we go to slot the motsie back in Gonna put in work and try to get it running/driving tonight cause old mate needs his shed space to work on his 32 before the prac on satdy, already sinking beers in preparation for a hard slog tonight

If anyone ever tells you a Cefiro RB20 is the same as a Skyline RB20, give them a swift kick in the teeth We had to swap over EVERY FUCKING SENSOR on the new motsie just before, the only thing that is the same is injectors. Pretty much everything electrical is different from cef to 32, kinda wish I knew that shit before hand Gbox is hanging of the back of the engine and all the electrical shit on the engine is plugged in so tomoz the engine goes in, rad back in, connect all the plugs back up, fill the thing with fluids and turn the key... ... then engage first, dial 8000rpm and drop clutch

Fking yeeeeeeeewwwww the Silvos is coming along nicely now New loom is bought, thankfully I guessed the right one to match my hacked one out of the 2 different Ceffy looms JIS had Engine mount sussed, turbo and ancillaries have all been transferred to the new motor, clutch and flywheel are on. Tomorrow will hopefully see the rad getting a proper flush, the gearbox bolted up and the new loom connected up. If we get lucky the motor may even be sitting in the bay by days end but that might be pushing it I can hear the rev limiter bracing itself for some punishment already

  18. Yeah I reckon Decs is going to cop some business from me too, me and my mate are pretty useless with wiring lol. One of my engine mounts was also snapped clean in half so I gotta buy another engine mount along with either paying Decs a good few hunge to fix my wiring f**k up or just buying a new wiring loom. I'll be doing well not to throw something at the c*nt of a thing today I reckon

Hour and a half later I have found that the ecu pin outs for R32 and A31 are exactly the same, which means I can look at any of the wires on the ceffy ecu plug and look at it's corresponding wire on the 32 ecu plug and know that even if they are a different colour they do exactly the same job and can be joined together. I guess thats some sort of progress so fuck it I'm off to bed
  20. If it makes you feel any better my swap over hit a f**k off sized brick wall tonight. Turns out the injectors are wired straight into the ecu, can't just unplug them somewhere and use the complete loom from the sil. So we decided to use the engine part of your loom that had been sliced off, and the ecu part of my loom, which we had to slice off in exactly the same fashion. Do you think all the wires in a Ceffy loom match up with what I presume to be the 32 loom from my car? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO of course f**king not. So where it was left tonight was we have 2 complete looms, both sliced cleanly in half. Of the 20ish wires on both looms, the easy to match up (only 1 of that colour) ones have been soldered together, the slightly harder ones (theres like 3 or 4 solid black wires coming from each loom) have just been left until one of us doing the job can be f**ked having another crack at it. Now to search the shit out of the forum and see if I can come up with ANYTHING that is going to help us identify which ones to join to get the c*nt running. Alternatively, anyone have half an idea about wiring, familiar with 32s/ceffys/RB20s and want to lend a hand for some booze?

  23. Damn that sucks balls man, what a fk around. We nearly had my engine out by about 3ish this arvo. My mate went back to do a bit more when I went to work around 4 so hopefully the old 20 is out and we're ready to prepare the new one to go in tomoz.
